As a artist, I'm just gonna rant so ignore this. Sorry dears, but that doesn't work that way. If a artist does work for free, they'll say it. Most artist, including myself, won't. Commissions are like trades in games. If you want something, give something in return. Including money. So if you get angry at someone who won't draw for free, realize it's equal to working without pay in anyjob. You want money for doing things, so get used to to artists like this.
I feel upset because of those people who want others to draw for them, for free. I myself spend a lot of hours every week drawing, since it’s my hobby that I love doing, and I know how much effort and time one drawing can take. Makes me pretty angry that those people just expect to get the drawing, and that they don’t know just how much work it takes.
I'm in college and not even my friend would ask me to do a drawing for free. I'm doing sketches for her group for a class and I'm charging for my time, no questions asked, she even brought it up that she would pay me for it. Some people just feel entitled and need to be knocked down a notch.

My mum is knitting. She started with basic yarns that are not really high quality. Then she started to color her own wool, ofc using high quality stuff, doing complex patterns. Her husbands friend wants a nice sweatshirt for christmas. It will cost about 400 crowns, it takes a while to make etc. That's the problem with having knitting as a job, 'cause it is handmade and really expensive so people don't really buy it. FunFact: that's one of the reasons a lot of people who knitt, sell hand colored wool, 'cause you can't find the same wool anywhere. Edit: tried to correct some mistakes and edit the structure of the text. My English wasn't that good 3 years ago and it showed greatly in the comment, bwahha.
My friend at school told me to draw something because am a good drawer, so I did. The next day she gave the drawing to my teacher and told her "she" drew it. The teacher said to my friend that she thought it was good and that she would buy her a smoothie. It's weird for me bc I still live with my parents at 24 and I pay them a certain amount each month for expenses and some of the food they buy. If you are an adult with a job and still living with your parents you should at least give them some money if you use their water, electricity, gas, eat their food....
Yeah I don't like people like that. There is no shame in living with your parents if you're newly employed and still need time to get on your feet, it's not an easy world out there and not everyone can afford rent in some places, but if i was living with them i damn sure will contribute to the money spent each month. Just like if i was living with roommates. Help with the bills, the groceries ...... anything else. Your parents responsibility stops the second you become an adult.

My aunt makes yarn blankets and clothes. She normally pays around 100- 400 basses on what you want. She lives in Florida and I live in Wisconsin. She makes me some really cool stuff. I get like a 5% discount which is taken when I pay shipping. It's a fairly normal almost generous price for a blanket that size and made by that wool with that stitch. That is VERY expensive wool.

I just realized. The NEXT NEXT NEXT lady turned down someone who could seat 24 people I mean 2 vans that can seat about 12 people each is 24 people total. So there would have been enough seats for her whatever she needed

It just works like that. *Last time I checked I had to pay for a drawing/commission it sure as hell wasn't free* So sweetie don't go asking for free artwork it doesn't work that way it really doesn't. If I was an artist i damn well will expect people to pay me for the artwork THEY asked for. The only time I would expect not to get payed is if I offered to it for free.

Being someone who draws in their free time for fun and like as a hobby and stuff, I know how long it takes to make an actual drawing you are really proud of and that is good. It really annoys me when people are like, “Oh can you draw me this? Make it good!” Like wtf. It’s REALLY annoys me cause you don’t know how long this took and you are NOT takin it for free.

... teachers get paid $30 an hour for their lessons. they just complain they dont get paid enough for their job when they get paid well over minimum wage
Quick note: Commissions aren’t free, you always have to pay for those unless the artist said otherwise Art Requests or sometimes adoptables or giveaways are free though GET YOUR ART STUFF RIGHT
When I was younger, I asked an artist I really liked if they could draw something. When I found out I'd have to pay, I apologized for wasting their time and we both went on our merry ways. That's how you end an interaction like that
OK so let me get this straight. YOU need to get 20 people from the airport to a secondary location for FREE. You have one group that’s willing to take 12 people and another person willing to take 6. 12+6=18. I’m assuming you have a car that can at least fit 2 people. 12+6+2=20. Things like that have to be scheduled in advance and paid collectively by the church community group members that will be using it. Not fall on one person to take care of and pay for. It must've been a scam for sure. That person wasn't Christian, they needed a free ride for 20 friends for whatever the hell they were going to do or go.
At least these people were upfront about the fact that they weren't planning to pay. I had someone send me a commision only to decide that they weren't going to pay when I had already finished the drawing. I liked the drawing a lot, so I kept it.

First of all, all/some artists will have commissions so you can pay them to do a drawing for you. It just works like that.
*Last time I checked I had to pay for a drawing/commission it sure as hell wasn't free*
So sweetie don't go asking for free artwork it doesn't work that way it really doesn't. So if you get angry at someone and curse them out because they won't draw for free, realize it's equal to working and not being payed while working at any job.
You want money for doing things, so get used to artists like this because there are lots of them that will have you pay for a drawing its not a new thing so don't be surprised when you don't get a free drawing.

Being someone who draws in their free time for fun and like as a hobby and stuff, I know how long it takes to make an actual drawing you are really proud of and that is good. It really annoys me when people are like, “Oh can you draw me this? Make it good!” Like wtf. It’s REALLY annoys me cause you don’t know how long this took and you are NOT takin it for free.
@Bridge - I’ve had this happen to me at school and of course I don’t give them a fee but they say to me “And it better be good.” It’s ignorant to me and I hate when people say it.

What was even sadder is that this person was booking a seating of twenty people, a DAY before the flight arrives. Things like that have to be scheduled in advance and paid collectively by the church community group members that will be using it. Not fall on one person to take care of and pay for.
