One of their best live performance song ever, especially the end when statue of justice collapsed. I'm not sure if everything went as they planned but it really kicks ass. And lyrics, more than accurate at present days.
Metallica was almost always a dark, cynical group, and the global repetition and exploitation of well-known and depressing flaws in the system we call life can trace its roots to at least as far back as Fight Fire With Fire. The title track of Justice is definitely in the top 5 of most brazen attacks on this concept, dare I say almost verging into the muddy, grey area separating satire from radical freelance journalism.
Intentionally or not, AJFA's lyrics are pretty left wing in how they decry how rampant capitalism corrupts the justice system in favour of the rich elite. On the other hand, Eye of the Beholder could easily be an anthem for the right and those who fear their freedoms are being limited by the establishment. Then there's Blackened, which is an anti-war song about a nuclear winter - that's certainly more on the progressive side of things. Speaking of anti-war songs... One is certainly that and then some to say the least. The Shortest Straw is ehh... the weakest track on the album for sure. Harvester, Frayed Ends, TLITD and Dyers aren't really political, although the latter is certainly quite anti-conservative in sentiment.

I always loved the physical stance James Hetfield takes while playing his guitar and singing. The way he's always hunched over, with his guitar down by his knees. My son is 20 and loves Metallica. 💕
One of the best live moments for me is during the outro of this song when they’re playing like fucking gods as the stage and Doris collapses and breaks down all around them. Totally badass.
One of the best concerts I ever saw....And Justice For All tour Columbia, SC. I saw Metallica twice afterwards and they rocked, but nothing compared to this tour!
@@8Bitorbust Yes! That was after James burned his arm and couldn't play guitar. Now I have to look up who played rhythm guitar for James because I can't for the life of me remember!! Great show though, you're right!
My favorite Metal album ever. Even though Metallica changed into something that wasnt my cup of tea soon after, it doesnt change the fact that JUSTICE was brilliant. Like criticizing Monet or Shakespeare for doing things that weren't appealing in their later career. They gave us 5 of the best Metal releases ever, ( I include Garage day's).
i have been watching this concert for 20 years, cant stop watch it, it is the best of all time for me. and still i wonder, hwo are the lucky guys to attend this concert, i would have give everything to be there
I am now so ridiculously happy that at 45. my very first concert, as of now maybe in the thousands, was Metallica in 1992 in between freshman and sophomore years of HS. AND OUTDOOR arena! Totally in their prime by far. I've been to three off their concerts since and no comparison. Yes, cocaine I believe without experience, is a hell of a drug!! I'd like it to much so has been off the option list personally. But they need it back lol!
Ohhhhhh man! I wish I moved to Seattle during this time! Two years too late to see this amazing concert. :( Well, thank God they’re still touring 30 years later, so I can still fulfill my dream of seeing them.
@@pajtim9079 Yeah I definitely have to agree. The Justice era was the pinnacle of Lars’ drumming which lasted all the way up to the very end of the long Black Album tour. After Metallica finished the Black Album tour and took a very long break and went on hiatus, when they came back to start touring for Load you can tell Lars lost a lot of the punch and precision he previously had. That long break between the Black Album and Load was where Lars stopped giving a fuck and he just got progressively more lazy as the 90s rolled on. From 2000 to like 2011/2012 was Lars’ absolute worst drumming especially in the mid 2000s. It seems he’s gotten a bit better ever since the release of Hardwired to Self Destruct.
Megadeth also got their share of " BAs", "loads" and "reloads" and some other stuff… id say pretty much the same path… and they were never that" good as Metallica (til 89)...
Sitting here watching this masterpiece 30 years later..... I can't imagine the rockers of 1989 giving a crap about Elvis and Buddy Holly 30 years before that.
You know what I just realized after two decades of loving this band? This is the single best-played song out of any live Metallica performance ever. Both Kirk and Lars are setting lifetime lows in terms of mistakes per minute. Everyone and everything is perfect. This is the absolute peak. EEK FUK! \m/ \m/
Great vid, great performance! One funny thing I noticed, most of the guys in the crowd, front line etc, almost all of them had short hair in Seattle back in 89... !!! Watched them live 1rst time in Athens a couple of years later, if you didn't have long hair down to your ass you wouldn't be able to attend the gig....they'd throw you out :-)
Puppets and Justice - Best albums of all time. No fucking contest.
Yeah, no hostiges, true adrenaline without limit:)
I'd add Ride the Lightning. For Whom the Bell Tolls and Fade to Black kick asses
Michał Kosmala Everything on RTL is amazing dude
Come on man Kill em All is the shit dude.
It is! Buuuut I have my favorites, just like you ;)
I love how no matter what's going on, no matter what song it is Jason is always head banging like a badass!
It could be the Icarly the e song and he will rip it with the bass and hang bang METALLICA RULES!!!

My favorite album ever because of the lyrics. They ring so true in modern times and become more relevant with each passing day.

Never sounded better than here!!
You really get the sense of James transitioning from his early growly style into whatever it is he's still doing to this day.
*Let's make some fucking noise!!* , *Saw them in 1989 and it was by far the best concert I ever went to see!!*
U sir/madam,surely had me jealous!
A perfect Metallica in their true form.
These lyrics are very relevant today. Metallica in its prime will never be beaten.
Shortest straw lyrics literally match the modern day witch hunt of donald trump
