0:50 "What's your first name, Sir? "If you must know, Lewis, wait until 2013, when they'll make a prequel series based on my adventures as a junior detective during the 1960s!!"
Hilarious. Alongside DFI sofas, this rates as one of the best comedy series pieces I have seen. When the old fashioned car appeared I wet myself. And the hair Morose, as you filled up at the petrol station makes a picture more memorable to me than the Mona Lisa. Absolutely fantastic. God bless you and thank you.
Total class. I remember this from when it was first on but have never seen it in the 23 years since. I particularly remember Morose drinking a yard of ale 0:26 and "That's what we're SUPPOSED to think Lyou-is" 2:39
Does anyone remember a similar sketch/advert which may have been Hale and Pace, or perhaps Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones. It parodied Morse’s love of the arts with the classic line “ Do you like the Rubettes Lewis?.............. “what a hollow vacuous void your life must be”. Love to see it again just to see if it was as funny as I remember it to have been.
Here in Australia, they are repeating "Morse" on one of our televisions stations. This sketch is hilarious!!!
I just watched a real "Inspecor Morse" episode last night, and watching this today, its hilarious.

Did John Thaw and Kevin Whately ever watch this clip?
If they did, I bet they pissed themselves laughing

Brilliant, thanks for the laugh!
Never talk out of your ass after you've had a curry! I'm going to remember that line.
Never talk out of your arse when you've had a curry XD
Classic parody of Inspector Morse.

So its official, Jaguar mk 2s run on Castlemaine 4x
In the Morse episode "Promised Land" Morse is rather unkind about Australian beer, so it might be an in-joke.
@mhortop1 It's from their second series. It aired in 1989, by which point the first three series of Morse had aired. Hope this helps
Does anyone remember a similar Morse parody by another comedy pair, possibly Smith and Jones?
Is that a cameo from the guy from On the Buses and LOTSW?
one of these guys is in the hairy potter movies
John Thaw was an alcoholic too.
Does anyone know which Hale and Pace season this Inspector Morose sketch is from??
HARRY ENFILED RIPPED OFF HALE N PACE
