AI transfers used to be one of the worst parts of Career Mode. If you throw back to FIFA 16, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Manchester United own 9 world class strikers, but play a formation that only had room for a single attacker. It was dumb to see, it borderline ruined the gamemode, but have things actually got any better? Well that’s what we’re finding out today.
You might not even realise how important this part of the simulation is. If a single club can sign every good player, it’s going to make the Champions League easy, it’ll make players develop slower and seriously can ruin your entire save. I mean just look at this team /u/thisisqiqi posted on Reddit. Kane at Spurs makes sense, this was FIFA 23, but how, and why, would they buy Virgil, Bernardo and Salah?

@@ethantalbot3015 yes, i feel like i have a nice rotation but still. pres sconferences are the only way to improve morale. Even 18 year olds are upset with their role.
Your players are saying “How dare you take us from being a relegation team to a top 6 team”
do you sim games? If you play them all then morale should be ok. You could also fudge the morale system by doing the crappy pre and post match interviews and just select positive responses.
3 things that would massively improve career mode IMO is:
1. More realistic signings
2. Manager sackings and replacements in AI clubs
3. Online career mode
The first 2 would add a lot more realism, especially if they could implement things like Bilbao's basque policy
when i played the legacy version of fifa 23 the signings were absolutely TERIIBLE when i was playing at man city they sold Haaland, de Bruyne and replaced them with Obrador (66 rated left back) didn't even replace them i immediately stopped playing

Adding a "start today" like how it is in NBA 2K would be the biggest improvement. Much more people would play career mode.

@@Manpro107 they could've used matchday live to implement a thing in CM where you could just start a save mid-season w/ the irl standings and squads of that very point in the season rather than completely remove it like they did. Imagine if a club sacked their manager irl and you went and started a save w/ that club from the moment they sacked the manager rather than from the start of the season.
I remember vividly a fifa 12 save I had back in the day where Spurs let Brad Friedel retire & sold Gomez in the same window. The season before they came 5th. But with no keeper had to play Bale in GK (I guess he had the best stats). After January I checked and they still didn’t buy a GK. They got relegated 🤣! They had signed new players but not a keeper. The AI can do some wacky stuff
Same thing happened to me in fifa 13 when I bought Lloris from them. They again put Bale in goal. Of course they never bought a GK 🌝

i think they fixed this in some way, cause i bought all 4 of chelseas gks and they got third in the league
I've had something like this, Swansea's GK was on loan so in season 2 they didnt have a GK. I had to use my own money to sign a new GK and then I did a swap transfer, giving swansea a realistic GK in exchange for one of their lowest rated players.
In FIFA 19 also a lot of clubs hadn't a goalkeeper after 15 seasons.
As you touched on in the video, I don't know why EA can't programme certain players to stay with their club for a few years, or at least decrease chances of them being sold. As an Arsenal fan it's hard to imagine a homegrown player like Saka leaving for at least the next few years, let alone to a close rival. In my current (Leicester) career he moved to Liverpool, with Salah moving the other way 😂. Wish they could also programme something like "club usually signs
an easy option they could add to player stats is a 'loyalty' rating. It could be on a 1 to 5 scale. So loyal players could be rated at 5, whereas players that fit into the Kevin Prince Boateng category could be a 1 and tart their way across Europe.

7:25 in all fairness that's what I want to see from the AI, playing a RB at LB because it genuinely makes more sense than sticking to the script. (He has no right foot)
How to fix FIFA career mode.
1. Make characters editable... Have a backroom team. Make them editable so you can create a staff member (maybe you want Gerrard on your Liverpool coaching team etc). Make it cost money to create them, and their stars / skill rating. Instantly more fun even if the staff actually do very little in game. Let people do this for staff and youth players (change name, looks but not skill or potential).
2. Have a Storyline AI feature - For example, if you were doing really well, other teams would make stronger signings, perhaps you rival (e.g. if Liverpool then Everton) get a financial takeover and you'll be more likely to play them in cup matches and quarter finals. If you get knocked out by Real Madrid in CL then it makes stronger chance to draw them in knock out rounds next season.. If you are unbeaten in the league for a long while then the news stories become about that etc.
3. VETO MODE - Make it so there is an option to VETO all transfers in career mode. You can essentially look through transfers one by one and select "undo" if its still in the transfer window. It would lock after deadline day and not be editable.
Yes, this could be used to cheat, but would be a far greater tool to enjoy career modes... And in a single player mode, why not let people cheat of thats what they want - at least the rest if us get to make career modes fun and realistic.
4. Review MODE, a mode where you can force transfers / edit lineups of any team in career mode if required. Maybe its a once a season thing at the start of each season (like stadium edit) when you can just align things a little to fix any issues. Have the transfer player and team sheet available for all clubs like in Customise on the main menu.
5. Customisation - Make as much of the game editable as possible in customise mode. Add traits, skills to players, edit / transfer managers of teams, add an in game kit creator, add a stadium builder/ editor. Edit fans, flags in the stadium, icon posters... Literally make as much as possible customisable and you'll get all types of fans loving it.
NBA 2k have that veto option. game changer for myleague.
sometimes interesting signings happen aswell, in Fifa 20 I had a save where Southampton signed Lautaro Martinez, and by 2023 they constatly finished top 4, and even got to a Champions League final, also Martinez was the top scorer pretty much every season in the prem, meanwhile the real Southampton got relegated
Very relatable, I'd be playing on one save, next thing I see, an english player in Athletic Club, or I could see Gavi in Real Madrid, once something like that happens, It just ruins the entire save, and I just give up on it, I wish there was a mod that could fix the unrealism, or at least EA could work on that.

There are many mods that affect AI team's transfers.
Remember playing a player career with Man United ages ago as a RB. By season 4 Rooney and Anderson were the CBs and the highest rated players outside of myself, Rooney, Anderson and De Gea were low/mid 60s
Strict negotiations kinda limits the rivals doing business together, keeps it somewhat realistic, still see some crazy stuff tho
are you sure? I've never noticed any AI difference when strict negotiation is selected. My understanding is that it doesnt affect AI transfers and only affects the transfers that the player engages in.

Yeah happens every time and always replaced with a 75 rated right back. It used to always be Mario Gaspar from Villareal. It's happens every career mode, so much so that I actually create a duplicate of Trent in the edit more and put him on Liverpool. Then when the real Trent leaves, I still have a Trent lookalike in their squad.

In FIFA 20, I used to do the transfer to free agents then back to their original club for 80-90% of the teams in the league I was going to play in.
This would make it ao transfers were impossible for 18 months for those players (usually just 6-7 key players or homegrown talents etc)
I would then sign cover for some key positions to improve squad depth and options for clubs if they sold players or maybe a young striker with good potential if they had an ageing forward.
This helped massively and would make career modes good for 5-6 seasons before it got silly (as opposed to the first transfer window).
In FIFA 22 this didnt worl as well though, regularly see teams end up with random players in random positions (Lewendowski at LB once bayern sold Davies etc). Frustrating beyond belief.
This why I only play on PC with either FIFER or PaulV2k4 realism mods. Mods make career mode so much fun
FUCKED THINGS ABOUT CAREER MODE
Signings:
1: Balde to Man City
2: Imobille to Man City or Man Utd
3: TAA to Real Madrid
4: Salah and Van Dijk to Tottenham
Teams and trophies:
1: Tottenham winning trophies
2: Average 2029 champions league final = RB Leipzig vs PSG
3: Man Utd winning at least one Premier league in the first 5 seasons
4: West Ham getting relegated to Championship
5: Man City never winning champions league
6: Bayern München being grouped in champions league

Rodrygo to City too. AI turns City into the most PSG style team, they sign the most un-Pep players possible
Personally this is why I always remove first summer transfer window when i play.. so at least they cant have 2 windows in the first season to make horribly unrealistic signings

Also there are some more major things that may ruin the save.
• Players retiring stupidly soon
• Smaller leagues selling their best players and buying almost no one
• Players (even more if they are young) ALWAYS improving massively. Then some seasons pass by and every ucl team is 5 star rated and A LOT of players have huge ovr!! Its not realistic man, some players do not develop as expected, I'll even say thats the case for most players. Some others develop as hell out of the blew like for example Vardy in Leicester (preview FIFAs actually had that feature and it was great since it brings some random unexpected events to the save and its realistic if its moderate)
• MOST players with 1 year left on their contract dont resign with the club or with another before the new season. Then the new season starts and there's A LOT of good players without club.
• Too many youth players generating every season, makes it unbalance because the amount of total players in game increase every year and i have a theory that thats why many players retire young
Also: I dont really like the regens feature man. Its not realistic since it makes the game somehow more static, makes you feel like everything remains the same. And also you know that for example if a player like Modric retires there will be automatically be a croatian regen that will 100% develop to be +90 rated while being 22 years old or younger. Thats insane and very unrealistic.
Also one more thing, wtf is that about massive amount of youth players being free agents every new season. WTF is that about, makes no fucking sense to me
This is why I can never play this game without mods. I play for the realism so I am still playing modded fifa 23 to this day. Its better than vanilla fc 24

On my save in FIFA 23 Legacy Edition, (So FIFA 16 with current squads) City signed Mbappe and kept Haaland, yet they bench Haaland to play Mbappe up front when Mbappe could go LW, I signed up Haaland to solve the issue, he's now 33 years old and my most senior starter.
I think EA should associate particular styles of play with particular managers. Then allow those managers to be moved around like on Football Manager
Me trying to do a Realistic Career with Newcastle trying to buy a LB then I see Davies to Arsenal, VVD to Spurs, Stones to Spurs, Toney to GETAFE and Oyarzabal to Barcelona for 70M, Immobile to Real Madrid then I stopped the Newcastle Career then I started one with Barcelona, 1B and bought Van Dijk, Mbappe, Vinicius, Davies and all the stars even Neymar
What we need is dynamic rating system. You see, it’s already bad in real life - huge players don’t move that often as there are not many clubs who could afford guys like Mbappe and Bellingham. In-game if these don’t transfer away at all it becomes stale - clubs just don’t need a replacement because they already have a decent player.
So there should be some sort of a dynamic rating for players. So that it could go down and not only up. Like, Utd could sign an 85 rated striker that flops and his rating is changed to 82, and they need a replacement. If this former star goes to a lower rated club he also becomes like 78 rated, so that to not make that team completely OP.
Hard to implement, but I believe there should be something like that. Otherwise clubs just don’t need new signings because their squads are already stacked

Hey @geografifa It doesn't matter which edition or which country I play in. In the case of my numerous careers in the Polish league, I encountered this problem. Many less qualified players joined the exemplary Ekstraklasa team. In particular, in '15, during Zawisza Bydgoszcz's career, a total of 8 strikers joined Wisła Kraków, when the starting lineup played in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Greetings from Poland. good job!

I always put the negotiation type on strict idk if it makes a huge difference but I don’t see that many crazy transfers for the first few seasons
One of my Player career saves had city signing Rodrygo, Trent, Trippier, and many others in the very first transfer window of the save

A couple years ago, i had a career mode save where liverpool signed erling haaland, but because they played a 4-3-3 (5), he never actually played despite being a 94 overall
The player career mode point is unbelievably valid. Even beyond my manager bringing in 3 world class strikers after signing me at a 93 rating rather than focusing on an aging defense, there's very very little initiative for me to look to move to other teams the longer the save goes on. The reason (in my opinion) we look for transfers in player career is because we get the chance to play with top players at the best clubs. But, when I think about transferring to Madrid and I see that they've sold Rodrygo, Tchouameni and Camavinga and instead of replacing them with 85-90 rated players, they buy 2 left wingers worse than Vini and put some 75-80 rated 30-something year olds where they used to be, it kinda makes you feel like there's no point in moving because Madrid has become such a weak team.

Players wanting to leave in career mode is a glitch! Go sim 4 games on calender in career then go to team management. You will notice everyones stamina is depleted from the games except 1 or 2 players!!! In the games “ bug “ those players never played because after you sim a game in calander their stamina is 100% while everyone else is a bit depleted. Its a glitch and those players will want to leave. I simmed man city from summer to new year. Rodri was my starting CDM and requested a move away. This entire time in sim the gamd registered him not playing.
That’s why I ban first transfer window and European competitions in starting manager career
I fixed this problem for manager career on PS5 with moving players to free agency and add them back instantly to there teams BEFORE starting a new career! Players that are "newly" signed are not getting sold for at least one season!
This is why with the live editor I do transfers myself and reverse the stupid ones. I send older players to MLS and Saudi, and silly moves like Rashford to Latium and Saka to Leipzig can just be avoided that way
Also ensuring Championship clubs don't keep their 84ovr keeper, and newly promoted clubs get a few good deals to give them a fighting chance

How tf do you reverse AI transfers on live editor? I asked the people that made that tool if it was possible and they said no?
I've managed to keep it pretty realistic with my man u save. Though tedious, only way is to look at the transfer history (every day) and go back and block any unrealistic moves. It works around 80% of the time but you need assets or money in the bank which means, you can only play with a rich club.

I bought all the keepers of real madrid and they didn't sign any new ones for 4 years. They were bottom of the second league for 3 years, but somehow they could still afford to keep Bellingham, Valverde, Rodrygo, Vini JR, Camavinga and Tchouameni
I'm just happy Mbappe stopped going to Southampton in my saves. That was an issue I had in 3 fifa straights that stopped happening in FiFa 22 and haven't seen him since. Idk why but it was really annoying me 😂

Imagine if they had slowly and carefully built Career Mode from FIFA 06. After 16 years of balancing, new added functionalities and deeplearning IA, it could have been the greatest simulation, period. Literally just including some kind of ChatGPT-4 technology would fix signing.
i think they should add a ‘likely destination’ thing where players who have openly said where they’d wanna go end up there in let’s say 50% of career modes.
Imo an equally bad thing is the stupidity of the coaches.. i just joined madrid on my player carrer and instead of 90+ rated vini and rodrygo playing in the starting 11 its some academy strikers both rated 80💀💀

Crazy CPU signings is what makes the saves fun, because the game certainly doesn't.
Club Brugge won the CL in my save, in 2031, with a good chunk of world superstars and i love it, idk why you want to find a way to stop it
Cuz people basically want the game to be fun but sorta realistic. Imo career mode should be somewhere between what we have rn, and Football Manager. Like FM is just too daughting with the with the amount of stuff you have to Manager and you can't actually play the football, but FIFA career mode it's too far the other way: player transfers make 0 sense, no complexity whatsoever.
Imo they should just make it an option when you start the save: sliding scale of the current wild signings, to somewhat realistic.
In my FIFA 23 Player career mode, when I joined a new club, they would sell their world-class players and replace them with players who weren't as good. I saw Tomori, Sancho, Camavinga, Joao Felix, Isak, Musiala, etc., get sold soon after I arrived. It got to a point where I couldn't play it anymore.
Having AI that not only makes signings that make sense, but also evolves what kind of signings the clubs make over the course of the career to reflect changes at the clubs that may happen irl, i.e. new manager, new ownership, rising up or falling down their leagues having an impact on what signings they make etc.
There was a feature around 10-15 years ago where players would just change their team if it fits their rating. This would already change so much. Why do 85 rated players who should play CL go to a small club that has tons of money because they sold a huge talent. At the same time i can't loan a player from the Bundesliga to the 3. Liga even though they are 60+ rated, it's so dumb
I found a solution to this you manually transfer top plates in and out of their teams that way the ai sees them as recently signed so they don't move for a couple of seasons
In my save, teams like city and Liverpool are barely in the top 10 because they only have first team players, no good benched or reserve players
I know it's not related to the video but I have one question: how do you manage to do storylines like in Stade de Reims videos? Do you use chatGPT or it's something you come up with? Maybe you already said it in other videos and I missed it

Disable first summer transfer window which somehow "recodes" the signings
Step 1: Start playing FM24
EA should integrate the morale system for players out of your club, it's unrealistic that players with a +85 overall who don't play any matches are comfortable sitting in the bench instead of going to another club that allows them to play more. Also, loans should be more common.

Rodrygo, Araujo and Bastoni always go to Man City, Alexander Arnold, De Bruyne and Barella always go to Real Madrid, Kane always go back to Tottenham, Zayre Emery always goes to Bayern on the third season. On my current career Real Madrid has Lautaro, Osimhen, De Bruyne, Van Dijk and Davies, and they only got rid of Rodrygo and Valverde, and it is only the second season.
in real madrid a lot of the players leave because of the release clause so that makes it kinda boring to see madrid into the 3rd season with a shit team
Big CPU teams should scout and sign young players with highest potential and than play the from time to time so they can reach their full potential.
