The saddest thing is, Ghanaian rice is sold expensive in foreign market as organic rice and we Ghanaians don’t value it😢

Why is it always that the government has to provide equipment for farmers to use? What about the farmers who don't invest in equipment to use. It's your responsibility as a farmer to make sure your farm can function by investing in it. Not everything the government has to provide. I always watch these videos , and Ghanaians are always saying it is the government fault. You can also rent equipment from the private sector as farmers here in Europe who can't afford to buy expensive equipment.

U have said it all.some claim to make about 50 to 60 thousand cedis per harvest,5 farmers coming to get can easily get financial support from any bank to get them some of this machine.
Some times I don't understand our farmers.

It's the same reason they like government jobs. They want to have an option to 'slack' without being held accountable. Imagine govt workplace; people get to work late and leave early. When it rains, some don't even bother to show up. On Fridays mostly, they leave very early to attend f-u-n-e-r-a-l. (they can't do that in the private sector). I guess renting equipment from the private sector will have some 'strict' rules to follow. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing the govt can help with is to stop/restrict imports of items GH farmers are producing. (developed countries do that all the time)

What is the use of the Ministry of Agriculture? Is food security not part of core government duty? Why do you think food in Europe is more affordable than Ghana? It is not a coincidence. Government of Africa should be responsible for one's. The government makes a lot of money from farmers, yet farmers don't have the right to ask for government support? Government providing machines to farmers will end up making more money for renting little cheaper to farmers. How difficult is that? Some of you people hate to hear government as if there is no government in Ghana.

Elsewhere, it's entrepreneurs who go around sniffing for problems to solve that brings money along. But here, everything we want government to be involved. Education, health, housing, roads, communications, water, etc are government's obligations but with how much to go round all these with the resources available. Let Ghanaians stop indulging in frivolities; big cars, houses and excessive frolics like wild parties. Investment, investment, investment is what we all need to get into. Am not denying government's responsibility.

Please admittedly you can not do rice farming single handedly.
2nd your workers be they are two or three would be doing some activities on the farm over a period for which the labour should be quantified.
    H
Even during harvesting you need a harvester machine which should also be quantified.
My submission is that you have left a lot of inputs making it look so simple with less money input.
Milling the rice after harvest to remove the hask not mentioned.
Protein content wise is good but quality output in packaging and marketing. Etc etc etc.
I communicating from Asutsuare where rice farming have been on going.
I am into mango farming in this Area.
Let me also say at Asutsuare the canals in the area he's in irrigating the rice farm.

What I don't understand is that the two important sectors of the Ghanaian economy have over the years been given to uneducated, such as transport and farming. That's why we have lots of accidents on our roads and food waste from source. Ghanaians leaders are incompetent, lack critical thinking and laziness.
