- In this video I take a look at the Snaptain P30 Mini drone. This drone is commonly available at Walmart and BestBuy. I show you everything that comes in the box, then we take it out for a flight. There is no gimbal on the camera on this drone, but it is a brushless motor GPS drone. It's quite easy to fly.

Interesting review Marcus, thank you. As I said before what I appreciate about your reviews is the fact that they come across as honest and not highly polished. Unlike some drone reviews where, from personal experience, either I bough a duff drone after their review or they spent a lot of time polishing their vid before transmission.

The Drona and intelligent flight modes look pretty cool, Marcus. The only negative points are the range and the gimbal. Good job!

i just got into drones. it’s pretty simple to fly and i’ve noticed that some drones you can put a landing gear on to keep it out of the grass if you don’t have a pad. i’m just not sure if i get one that it’s going to fit since they don’t offer any on the website for this drone. great video, i’m going to take mine out tomorrow to get a better feel for the controls.
I do not know of any company that makes landing gear extenders for this one. You may just need to use a landing pad. 👍

@@IdahoQuadcopterLOL... I personally loved the message that "The current version of Firmware is "relatively low" - so...that means updating is is, what? Relative? They would do well moving away from the "kitchen sink" software, and focusing on basics. Relatively speaking 😂
This is a good starter drone to learn with. I’m interested 😊.
For a few more dollars the DJI mini 4K is really good.

Another one unfortunately that is way too much for the price. This drone would be perfect for the $100-$150 price point but not $300.
The HS360S is identical in most respects and is often available on Amazon for $109. You're correct John!
For not much more, your average consumer could pick up a DJI Mini SE. Flying without a gimbal really ruins the experience. Great video, Marcus.

I've had a few Snaptain drones in past that I reviewed, but they were toy grade drones. Nothing as advanced as this one, with GPS and automated flight modes. You mentioned that it didn't have a gimbal at the beginning of video, so I wasn't expecting a super smooth video, but at least they could have put some EIS in there to study it a little. It seemed like a decent little budget drone, until you said it was retailing for almost $300. I think there are better options out there in this price range. Great review, and thanks for sharing Marcus.

Another fair review. A couple of times I wished my computer chair had a seat belt when the sky and the ground changed places. I'm confused as to why you said it did not record the video to the SD card. The whole flight was recorded until you did the helix maneuver. Then the drone shut down the recording.
Did the manufacturer send it to you for free? Does it have to go back or can you keep it?

The recording I posted was transmited to the camera roll, not to the TF card. It is a lower resolution. 👍
Excellent review Marcus. I have this drone coming as well so I'll have to see if I have any issues with the TF card. Did you happen to format it inside the drone? Sometimes that is all it needs but honestly I've had so many issues with these budget drones when it comes to video saving to the sd card that who knows. It's very frustrating. Otherwise it seems decent enough especially for someone that wants a drone under 250g and only needs to take photos since the lack of a gimbal makes video pretty useless. Any idea what counter is to the left of the Sat meter?
Thank you Ryan! This one is a rebadged SJRC drone and is very similar to the HS360S. The HS360 used an OTG cable though. I did format the card in the drone. Those numbers measure compass interference.

I checked, Lord of the Rings was filmed on 35mm film, higher spacial resolution than 4K. To produce the Blu-ray 4K special release - they simply re-scanned the original 35mm negative.
@@driewiel I can easily carry my DJI Mini 2 in my pocket, it has a terrific 3-axia gimbal, and the 4K video is beautiful from it.

Do I need to register this drone? If I don’t are there limitations. I’m new to this I had a cheap drone from Temu that broke so I bought this after learning how to fly alittle! I’ve flown it and done great but I don’t want to do to much and get in trouble.
It's a sub-250g drone so does not require registration for non commercial flight. You must follow all the FAA drone regs though. Visit the FAA drone zone for more.
Hi i am trying to get the drone to gps track me or at least umage track me. However when i try to use gps mode the drone just flys away from me? And with the image tracker it doesn't fly to me when im out of frame? If you can answer any of these questions please do

Just got for Christmas flys great but can’t get live camera too connect so I have no camera view and since it’s not connected it won’t let me takeoff beginner mode any thoughts ??
That could be many things. Does the app give you any error messages? You may want to call DJI support.
Have you try KF104 Max 2, around $200 better than this one.

Some of us just enjoy flying them everyone can't afford DJI so we appreciate what we got .stop complaining that God for what you have

How did you get the video to record sound? Out of all my videos, only one had sound and idk what I did
I use a DJI external mic and then sync it up in post production. You could also do a screen recording with your mobile device and make sure the mic is on.
Around $300? Yikes!

The build, controller looks like it came out of the SJRC stable, no gimbal although clear enough video. Vastly overpriced, the Potensic Atom you reviewed recently is a far better drone although that is overpriced by $100. When you start preparing to shell out $299 even with a bit of discount, you can do better than this Snaptain or even put a bit more to your purse and buy the basic DJI mini SE

I can't understand why in 2023 these kind of drones are coming on the market. One could say that it is aimed at those with a lower budjet, but this is not the case, because at these prices, one can buy for example, a used mini 2. Is it worth a drone without a gimpal? My eyes got so tired that I couldn't watch the whole review. Anyway, I think you're wasting your time for no reason. In my opinion it's just a mess. (No gimpal, 4k 20fps. Not even 25).
