  • The Hymer B504 DL is based on the Fiat Ducato AL-KO chassis with a 2.3 multijet, Euro 6 130hp engine. It has a single rear bed 90cm in width whilst there is a drop down double over the cabin measuring 185cm x 145cm.
    It is only 599cm in length, 212cm in width with an internal width of 202cm. Overall height is 296cm offering 198cm of standing room. It offers 700kg of payload but should this be too little then it can be reclassed to a GVW of 3850kg.
    Insulation is 35mm all round and heating with warm air fan Truma Combi 6 or Alde Compact 3020. The vehicle can hold 150litres of fresh water and has a 130 litre waste water tank.
    There are three 95Ah leisure batteries which can feed 2 12V plugs and 1 USB. On hook up, there are five sockets.

    I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life.
    In my TH-cam channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. Here you will find campervans and motorhomes from the cheapest camper vans to the most expensive luxury liners, from various companies including Hobby, Hymer, Carthago, Westfalia, Wingamm, La Strada, Frankia, Wavecamper, Maurer, Clever Vans, Pössl, Bürstner, Niesmann Bischoff, Action Mobil, Reisemobil Manufaktur, Robeta, Trigano, Challenger, EuraMobil, Laika, Forster, Mobilvetta Design, Affinity, Globe Traveller, Benimar, Roller Team, Adria, Tourne, Megamobil, VW, Mercedes, CS, Renault, Ford, Fiat, Carado, Sunlight, Baileys, Chausson, Balcamp, Knaus, Weinsberg, Mitsubishi, Woelcke, Reisemobile Bürow and others.
    I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others.
    I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries.
    I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.

    Alan, I loved the video, and the Hymer. I wished they would import models like this to the USA! Loved the disco music sound track too! Cheers from Houston Texas!!

      I am glad it works. It might hide the awful film which came from Stuttgart from my new camera!

    The fridge is too big. I'd rather have smaller fridge n have room for me. Is the back seat can be turned into bed as well?

    I would like to see another a class this size with a decent rear lounge like the globebus i3 which I don’t think is produced anymore after all you would still have a fixed bed over the cab

      I filmed a couple at Stuttgart - but I filmed so many that it could be ages before I get round to publishing them. One from Challenger and the other from Burstner.

      I know it's not an A class but for a twist on the standadr internal layouts look up the Chausson 500. It's tiny but clever using a drop down french bed over a rear lounge.

    THIS is the one I have been looking for ... kind of... BUT with a SEATING area in the back. And a swivel closet that rotates into the shower area. Does such a van not exist? Why three beds? pfffff it's so hard to find what I am looking for... and it seems so obivous... (yes, the garage would be a bit lower... so what)

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen a lot of vans, maybe not all but lets say possibly more than the average person and that motorhome does not exist. The swivel closet is the problem. There is however, a Dreamer campervan that has the seating at the back and a swivel closet.

    Hi Alan, this looks like a cracking wagon but I was very surprised at the price, is it the all bells and whistles model or the starter model? I know they’re not mass produced so rather expensive but I was thinking it’d be around the 80,000 ball park range. Do you think it’s worth 90 grand?? I would have thought about buying one if it was on a Mercedes base, that would make the 90 grand price a bit easier to swallow but only a fraction easier :)

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the kick off price although there was a special offer for around EUR83k last year!

    Alan would you rather have one of these or a hymer van s500?

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard question. Possibly the Van S as it is smaller to use as my every day van - not that I need one as I take the bus everywhere!

    I can never understand why coach built manufacturers don’t fit under slung refillable lpg tanks as standard all you need is a set of adaptors and it’s cheaper and probably safer

    What are the good things about a fully integrated model?

    • @VanlifewithAlan
      @VanlifewithAlan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will do a film on that subject. The bad news is that a fully integrated one costs around EUR10k more as a rule!

    Carry the bike off the back and live in the "garage". Make a nice bed room.

    Alternatively, one can buy a nice flat or a small house. It might even go up in price, whenever this one, for sure, as a second hand, after one year, will not sell for more than 50,000 euro, if not less. So, if you have 40,000 euros extra spare cash to invest in the booming German industry as a sure one-year loss, welcome!

    • @mrglitch0
      @mrglitch0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Laurentiu Curca Problem is with a small flat you can't travel anywhere, it stays in one place.

    • @laurentiucurca900
      @laurentiucurca900 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      With 90,000 euros I travel around the world. Twice. Sorry, 4 times. And I stay in places with a proper shower. And with electricity. But due of the fact I;m not completely dumb, I will make a tour (just one), and with the 67500 euro difference I'll buy a thing that doesn't pay the Deutsche Bank interests. Sorry, 2 things. Or even better, I'll buy a cheaper version that costs only 35,000 euros and with the 32500 euro difference I'll buy a flat at the seaside in Greece. Recap for you: around the world tour (1 pcs), silfred van with all the amenities (brand new, btw) (1 pcs) and a flat at the seaside in Greece (1 pcs). But you can buy this one, is value for money. I bet. Go for it.

      As a coincidence, I did a film some time ago which I put together today which deals with this subject! I thought I would buy a small house in Calabria or Sicily but as it happened I liked the van better.

    • @laurentiucurca900
      @laurentiucurca900 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A van (new)+ a flat in Sicily + a 5* world tour. All in 90,000 euros. My point is that those Germans are outrageously expensive. They simply take advantage of the baby boomers current peak cash abundance. Come back to this comment in 3-4 years and you'll see why I'm actually right.

    • @mrglitch0
      @mrglitch0 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Laurentiu Curca Thing is most people who buy a motorhome can also afford a new house too.

    Stop saying refrig is too big, please. The refrig & water , fuel is the most important cargo this van can carry

      The fridge IS too big. Better use halv that space to a pantry.
