    When I'm painting a jar or vase, I like to spray with Rust Oleum primer. Dries very fast and smooth. When I want to paint with acryllic ( night time or raining outside. Lol) i dab it on quickly with a sponge dauber and then I use a very soft, thick and dry make up brush to brush very lighyly over the paint. It creates a smooth, flawless finish and drys quickly. Only needs one coat. I do either napkin decoupage or hand painting on bottles and vases. Much more satisfying than painting on canvases.
    Thanks for your video.

    What are you using that is like the pen with water in it that you seem to be using to cut/tear the napkin at the end. I noticed it when you were doing the bottom of the jars to cut off the excess??

    • @memorykeeperjournals
      @memorykeeperjournals  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's a water pen that comes with water color pens. It is also sold separately at Michael's. You add water to it, and you can use it to spread the colors on paper, but I used it to rip the paper. You can do the same thing using a small paint brush. 😊

    So Beautiful! Do we need to seal it once it’s done with any sealer/decoupage or is there no need for that?

    • @memorykeeperjournals
      @memorykeeperjournals  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! You can do either one. I would prefer to seal it because I don't want it to be extremely distressed over time. Sealed, it will keep it beautiful much longer.

  • @4TheLoveOfPaper
    @4TheLoveOfPaper ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So you didn’t need the gesso for the tops and bottoms?

    • @memorykeeperjournals
      @memorykeeperjournals  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't use it on the bottom and on the lid because I didn't care if it became distressed while being used.

      @@memorykeeperjournals I disagree. When speaking spontaneously, the viewer picks up really good tips that otherwise they would miss.

      It was in a box set, but the name of that specific one is called Cabana Stripe.

    The best thing to do is actually put on either a matte or gloss medium just brush it on when you're done and it puts a plastic coating on it but it doesn't smell just for your I lost my place Glass Museum will dry and if it gets wet you can just wipe it off Mod Podge can stay tacky for a long long time and if it gets wet it'll come right off anyway good luck with your projects it's really fun long time

    • @memorykeeperjournals
      @memorykeeperjournals  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I don't mind it coming off because it makes it look distressed, and I love that look.
