The shipping company, EasyAutoShip, reached out to me immediately to offer an apology and refund of their booking fee.
They were shocked and appalled by the delivery and are working to make sure they check drivers better and make things right!
So I will do an update to this on a future video!
Good deal!
Well done, Bob! You showed what you got on your video and they reached out to you to fix the issues. Kudos.
If they do everything they say they're gonna do to make things right with you, then I give them a lot of kudos. They're a very good business then.
That’s cool
As they should.
I mean… you just gotta be happy for Videobob. That Corniche is orgasmic!!
The Russian delivery guy now has Rolls Royce fog light he wants to sell LOL
The shipping "company" is nothing more than brokers. They list the towing request on an electronic board. Drivers can choose the tow from the electronic board. The money you paid at first ($300) is the brokers fee. The money you paid the driver is the actual cost of transport. I have had over 20 Rolls Royces delivered. I have never had delivery like yours. They were delivered enclosed on a large car transporter. The $2400 you paid was excessive. Ijust had a Bentley delivered from CA to NC enclosed for $1800.
If you paid $35-$45,000 is about right for a Corniche in this condition (and with no to little service history). I love the color! My 88 Corniche is silver blue with a navy interior which is not my color choice! I just bought a 1968 Fixed Head Coupe for $5800. It needs a light cosmetic restoration, but is perfect mechanically! It was cheap because it had no service records and the owner thought it was just a Shadow!
Another reason that I know you are a master of sales with years of experience, Clean Cars Sell. Spending the extra time cleaning has always paid off for me.
This by far is the best car you brought in a while. Great Find
Contact the DOT. That's the only way you're going to fix this problem. You have to be the one to do it because you're the witness to the crime (and it IS a crime what those companies are getting away with so don't think you'd be over reacting by contacting the feds). There's a contact form on the U.S. Department of Transportation website. They would love to see that footage too.
As the pr manager of the Company in the 1970s, and a Silver Spirit owner, I have to say I admire your enthusiasm and indeed your blossoming collection and would encourage you to continue producing such entertaining programmes. Warm regards
This car is a fucking beauty WOW !!!!! I love the color
Beautiful car, Bob! Congratulations! Four Rolls Royce cars and counting!
Another reason you are a master, you know that clean cars sell quicker and make more money!
That is beautiful Bob. A well known car journalist here in England owns a corniche his name is Quentin Wilson, his car belonged to the famous Middle Eastern Arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi one of the richest men in the world in the 80's , his super yacht was used in the sean connery bond film Never say never again , the rock group Queen wrote a song called "Khashoggis ship" to my knowledge Quentin still owns his car Black on Black. I love the back story to these cars , always very interesting to me. 👍👍👏👏
Wow she's gorgeous dude!
The color is called Claret. A beautiful color that is more RR suitable than the brighter red called Tudor red. You are correct with the wood, it’s birds-eye maple. On the AC, that switch is designed to override the automatic control; in heat mode, it will automatically blow air to the windshield and foot wells. The fascia choice allows you to direct the heat to your face. The cut off switch when the roof is down is an unrelated function that some people disconnect (the shadow controls are manual and very different). Your car would have had factory headlamp wipers and they are simply missing. Same as the Lucas fog lights. The Solex carburettor is a 4-barrel design from France. A decent system but hard to get balanced so engine misses can be a problem.
Never really understood rolls Royce drivers. After watching your videos and learning more about them I totally get it now. They are the best luxury car money can buy. Even Jay Leno recently bought one
Beautiful Roller, Bob. Great spec. Smart buy.
I spent an entire day detailing a car that I was going to trade in to a dealership in Waco, including the engine bay. It looked so good I got twice for my trade-in than I paid for it. Told the salesman it wouldn't last a day on the lot. It didn't last 30 minutes. Sales Mngr. bought it for his wife. A clean ride makes 💵
Congratulations Bob! It is a beautiful car!
11:12 “Sometimes you need a straw. You know, Florida.” 🤣🤣🤣
When you take that air cleaner off, you're going to see a Solex 4bbl carb that looks identical to a Rochester Quadrajet. I think it was produced under license from GM. I would advise you to use non-ethanol gas in this car if you can get it. If not, run a couple ounces of Stabil 360 Marine in it at every fill-up.
Drop dead gorgeous! I absolutely love it!
Love the burgundy Corniche. The interior is just beautiful, so luxurious
Bob; Loving the new Rolls! It’s like a new car! The black one…….. well, I think I dodged the bullet of having to watch you restore it! Off to someone else! Good move! All the best, Bob
King 👑 Bob😎living the dream ! Loving that Candy color! 🏁🏆🏁🫡🇺🇸
Get that paper clip out of the fuse box before it arcs something.
Beautiful car, love the color
BEAUTIFUL car Bob!! Congrats
Bob, you really scored on that!😮
Very impressive example.
Great Looking Rolls Royce Corniche, she is a head turner.
Very handsome RR. Happy for you!
Im older then Bob and dont look that old..still remember partying with Roger Hodgson in Nevada City Ca with his Corniche convertible dark brown with light brown interior a true gentleman and auto person
Awesome car! to figure out the temperature double it and add 30. So 36 degrees celcius double it to make 72 and add 30 to give you 102 degrees fahrenheit. (approximately)
Nice early Birthday Present 🎁 R.R.
Some people wanted the hard top, because of the many problems of the convertible top. Nice car! Please don’t mess up the car wheels with those non spinning middle things. Keep it all original Bob! I’m proud of you ! I’ve always wanted tone of these!
Ohhhhh wooow that is gorgeous, what a purchase. An oil change video would be cool please show us what its like to do an oil change on a Corniche. That colour is fantastic. Thanks for sharing
Now that's a beautiful Rolls!
Bob use intercity or precious metals they are the ones that transport cars to the tv auctions they use enclosed 53’ van trailers with Professional CDL drivers in newer semi tractors
Very beautiful car Bob! Definitely fits you perfectly
Think you made the right decision Bob - also a great episode with Gary. He is a genius when it comes to Rolls-Royce and other old cars.
Sweet ride 100%! Beautiful machine.
Love the liquor cabinet 🤣🥃🇬🇧👌
The chrome Lucus Square 8 front fog/driver lamps are quite sort after for many period English cars.
I had a 1970 triple black Continental Mark III. The hubcaps and grill were very close to the Rolls. Lee Iacocca told his design team to "put a Rolls Royce grille on a Thunderbird". That was back in 1965. In 1968, the '69 Mark III was introduced and that interpretation of the Rolls Royce grille became a Lincoln trademark. Literally.
I had white glove service for $300 through M & M Transport from New Jersey to Massachusetts deliver me my beautiful one owner 2005 Toyota Camry XLE with under a hundred thousand miles on it. Exceptional service!
On time no extra fees. They even threw in a new battery at no extra charge.
Sweet sweet ride you got there Bob. Love it 👍🏻💪🏻❤️
That glovebox gave me Tony Montana vibes lol
You really do have great taste Bob.
I wish I had that car Bob !!! Beautiful purchase 💯👍❤️
Congratulations on the new Rolls-Royce you did good with that one!
We had a shipper call us at 11PM that he was at our dealership and it was locked..and was mad about it 😂
I made him sleep in his truck and come back the next morning.
What a beautiful RR corniche Bob !! Proficiat we say in Holland.
The red burgundi colour is beautiful so don't re-paint the rolls is my opinion.
You found a nice one there 👍👍👍👍👍🏴🏴Manchester England 🏴
Nets on the list is a 1965 Silver Cloud III Chinese eye convertible
Beautiful car looks like its in amazing shape
Very Nice car Bob! its a true beauty like nearly all Rolls Royce Shadows
I live in Tucson and drive a 1976 Silver Shadow LWB myself and I love it! the main reason the 1985 handles so much tighter and responsively than your 1967 is primarily due to 2 things
The Silver Shadow I which ran from the cars introduction in 1965 until 1976 used the reciprocating ball or steering box set up for the steering, which means the Shadow I's had a tendency to sort of "wallow" as the went down the road, this problem was compounded in the 1965 thru 1967 Silver Shadows as they had the self leveling suspension system on All 4 Wheels but after 2 years of having issues with this they decided to drop it for the 1968 and all further models
The 2nd reason your 1985 handles so much better is starting in 1977 with the introduction of the Silver Shadow II all Rolls Royces went to rack & piñon steering set ups giving them far tighter feeling and responsive steering
Congratulations Bob you have a beautiful car there a great find, the Rolls Royce fleet is getting better, I only hope one to click on to your channel to see a review on the 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I, my favorite Rolls Royce that to me is perfection. I personally would not worry about the addition miles it was a daily driver for the previous owner, and that generally means less trouble with the vehicle you will have in the long term, and please do a livestream like your forth of July vid driving down the strip in your new car.
Absolutely gorgeous, Bob. 😎👍😎
Beautiful Corniche.
@ 11:07 too funny....LOL
WITH CAPS, BOB, PLEASE REMOVE THAT METEL PAPER CLIP FROM THE FUSE PANEL, you do not want that to touch 2 different fuses at one time.. What an amazing car, damn dude, it is amazing, congrats.
I recently saw a video of yours when you went to "Back to the 80s" cafe in Las Vegas. We're gonnn go check it out tomorrow ☺👍
P.S. my brother owned a replica time machine Delorean before his passing in 2007. Love the attention to detail on your replica picture cars ❤
always love to DROP THE TOP 😎
I’m not a big fan of Roll Royce’s but this is example of a good one. Bob appears to be satisfied with his purchase. And that all that matters being his car.
It's gorgeous! I would leave the wheel trims though as they're original and suit the car.
Love Rolls Royce videos , including yours , Bob. Keep in touch with Gary . I think ABBA used a Corniche convertible in the video of their track , Money , Money , Money . Look it up Bob.
Bob, this car is a much better example. I was looking at other red Corniches and the wheels have red color matched rings that go around the inner circle. Can’t wait to see more videos on this car!
I recently shipped J5 and man I am with you Bob! Pay an arm and a leg and get spotty service. They estimated 4 days, took 8 then charged for weight verification and some other BS charges, I disputed and they made it right but you have to fight for customer service these days.
My favorite car EVER. It's a beauty. 😊
28:00 Steering is tight because the Corniche has rack & pinion steering and the Silver Shadow I doesn't
2:32 looks great 18:49 just glad actually got your car instead of scammed
Great looking RR bob
Looks like you got your ideal Rolls Royce!
Beautiful coach!
Wow, amazing car. Love the interior. Congrats 👍
love the red and white.....
That Corniche is not North American Spec. Probably from Europe or Japan as It has the Solex Carb. Rubber plugs under headlamps were for Non-North American cars for headlamp wipers & Chassis plate in in Passengers side door jamb not drivers side .
All North American cars were also Bosch Fuel Injection after 1980. Pretty car. Congratulations Bob. Good luck with it.
Nice car Bob i watch lots of your videos i had a 74 shadow some years ago they all divertido so nice thanks for your video cheers Paul
Love the color!!
Dude living the dream
She is beautiful!!
Sweet car Bob !!
Bob that's a nice red and a good car for the year. I love the Kenwood i had one just like it back in the day would love another one. Smart clean car you did very well there.
Excellent score Bob. Great looking car. Is there any liquor in the flasks?. Keep the videos coming.
How dare you not take us for a ride down the strip with the top down... 😢
You made a very smart desicion. The car you bought is GORGEOUS. It would have cost much more in money and effort to bring the crunchy black one halfway to the level the red one seems to have.
Does look good in Red
Whooooooooooooaaa love that car!!❤
Beautiful car bob
Do the LED lights, especially for rear brake lights. I've been rear-ended 3 times. I have plenty of lighting now on my CTS that l don't worry now.
Badass car dude!
It is a nice ride. Im happy for ya bob
Very nice happy for you!
Awesome car 🙌🙌👌👍😊🍀
Lovely car 😊 Bob
Hey man,
Happy Monday, lol, this is my first time checking out ur site, it's 2:35am watching this beauty & as a almost 61 year old man who's admired these vehicles for years, i can say this, I get it my man. Complications are everywhere but I enjoyed this video & your a great host for the everyday ordinary guy who luvs beautiful rides, so many questions and so much interest my dude...
Bottom line it's a great car/video ya got here!
Sweet ride, I can bet the dealer just wanted rid of, sold it cheap. But the Ohio and Florida connection sounds like you got a mob ride.but I doubt it. Did a search on the name, she owned an auto parts store.even if the shipping company makes good, I would still report them to the DOT.
That drop down vent in the shadow is known as the Texas vent because it was introduced to meet the requirements of Texas Clients . The early Shadows are known as Chippendale because of the amount of wood in the dash ( Thomas Chippendale cabinet maker , not those dancing guys ) ; federal law required a major overhaul of the dashboard and much heavier padding in later years
Much better....hope you're happy with it.
I laughed at the "coke" straw and the shot glasses and flask in the door panel..Yeah,it was a different time! I remember the 1980's my Dads friend owned a Real Estate company and every night they would drink(not my Dad)..I mean it didn't matter if I went there on a Monday or Friday they were drinking after hours meaning 4 pm! They all drove home too..I took a job there in my late teens as I didn't know what career path I wanted to go in..What a time that is for sure! The 70's and 60's were better I mean they could slap a broads butt and that's how it was lol...
Wow it is beautiful 😍
Love the '85 Bob!
Oh yeah duh....I forgot about wrapping it. If the interior is nice & decent mechanical condition. You wrap it in any beautiful color you want. Cheaper & easier than paint. For the time being.
There may be a way to convert that centegrade temp gauge to ferenheit.
If not, the formula is:
F=(C×1.8)+32.
I do it in my head a lot and get an approximate.
That is a nice looking Rolls.
I had friends and neighbors in San Diego that had large collections of Rolls.
One had a 28 actually built here in the US.
They only built them here for two years.
The Britts were probably just like the Germans and couldn't deal with us yanks work ways.
It's 98° Fahrenheit
