    Probably only benefit is bypassing massive jam at causeway. $400+ for just 1 night at desaru is pretty expensive.

      The ferry is so early in the morning so that time usually also no jam at causeway...

      Hi, yes, everything is quite distant there and there is no infrastructure to walk.

    Are the waters choppy? Worried about getting seasick on the ferry.

      Surprisingly, it was very smooth 90% of a time. I would say it is like you are on a bus on an expressway.

    Is there a car rental booth at the ferry terminal in Desaru?

      Unfortunately, no. The closest one is in the end of the hotel strip, at the entrance to Bandar Penawar town (behind Lotus hotel).

    Hello, can I ask what the passport stamp for the Malaysia side look like?

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, it's just a regular Malaysia stamp (square for entry and triangular for exit), and for location it's stated "Desaru Coast" on it.

    Hi...can i know if u travel by grab in desaru to the fruit farm n the ferry terminal

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To the fruit farm (from hotel) was luckily by Grab, but waiting time for Grab is 10-20 min usually due to lack of service/drivers there. To the ferry terminal we couldn't find Grab eventually (no response for 15 mins) so we texted private taxi driver (he gave us his card on the first day) and he brought us there for RM 40 (Grab would be RM 10-12). So it's IMPORTANT to have local taxi phone number from your hotel or any other private one since Grab service is VERY poor there (as August 2022).

    • @SoAndrew
      @SoAndrew  ปีที่แล้ว

      As a year ago, there was no Wi-Fi on board.

    Major drawback for travel via ferry is the timings…. Arriving way ahead of checkin and leaving Desaru so late that u are just wasting time after check out. Would be ideal if ferry leaves SG and Desaru late morning or noon time.

      Is it because of the low tide high tide? Like i went to tioman via ferry and they said certain timings cannot because of the tides if too low the ferry will be stuck or smtg like dat
