The Carol Burnett show personified one of the reasons television was invented: To bring people together, laugh after a hard day and lighten up over some of the heavier aspects of life.

I love these now as much as I did watching them in the 70's. Maybe even more. There's really nothing on TV today that I enjoy.

Carol's jeans are absolutely gorgeous in this sketch, I loved the ending. I felt sorry for Gary and his Mother constantly calling, so what Harvey Kormans character did was very deserving to her. God Bless You.

Ms. Burnett if you should see my comment, I wanted to first of all thank you for your awesome style of humor and it was just so natural the way it came from such a place that wasn't forced....it was allowed to happen and be creative on your own terms. Me and my family sat around and always watched every episode back in the 1970's. When I had the Chicken Pox and when we moved to a newer home in 1977, I could ALWAYS watch YOUR show and it always took me out of the blues....and thankfully when you came up with this channel on here, I am able to re-live and enjoys the great honest belly laughs you and your cast brought and still bring me again. Now thankfully you have millions of new fans that can appreciate true and authentic comedy without a bunch of F bombs and degrade women. You rose above all of that. I have overstayed my welcome, but if you really see this, it is important for you to know how I feel about you as an entertainer and as a good and decent human being. May GOD continue to bless you, Ms. Carol Burnett!!!

Thanks for sharing that. My Dad had a maintenance contract with the local CBS TV Station. Other people worked for him. He went on there one day and they said Danny Burgess the weather guy was stark naked in the studio! They all believed it and ran over. My father came home laughing so hard about it he could barely tell us what happened 🤣😅😆 Dad loved watching Carol Burnett! That was our Friday special but when I started working at a restaurant my senior year, I had to go to work. I missed a lot of episodes - then had two months bedridden in the hospital to watch them a year after that. I was hit head on by a 20 ton sander truck. My father was the one who wanted me to live the most. My mother signed off on a lawsuit when I was in ICU. And "prayed she'd die" she told people. OMG, my mother was okay at church because they understood and helped support her positively. But she got pretty nasty at the town we moved to. I was in ICU 2 1/2 weeks and a month in isolation, with limited visitors because my head hurt so much and everyone had to whisper. Attorney Kendall just had to screw me over while I was in bad shape, having me sign papers when I didn't know what the hell I was signing. He later said (6 months later) he just couldn't understand why I didn't die. He also chastised me when the driver at the pretrial hearing laughed!
I snapped at him and said, "You almost murdered me!" The attorney Aldo asked me why I didn't get out of his way, it was a sunny day out! I said, he was plugging on a double shift - on a sunny day - WITH A SPOTTER - and you ask ME why I didnt get out of the way when he went in my lane going the opposite direction and almost killed me? That was one sympathy card I didn't mail when he died. He had no intention of helping me but was so powerful no other attorney would take my case and he resented me sniffing around for one. His brother Donald paid a hit man to kill the President of Chile because he wouldn't sell Pepsi in his country. My father told me, as a secret because my siblings were blabbermouths and if it leaked, my father would be in danger because of organized crime. The Captain (who I think deliberately sank) of The Empress of Ireland on the St Lawrence River - caused over 1,000 deaths. His name was CPT Kendall - and Bruce Ismay and JP Morgan knew how to profit in loads of dough from sinking Titanic. A good video to watch is: "The Spider's Web: Britain's Second Empire"
They created the Federal Reserve Bank with a portion of that money. And obviously funded the NAZIS. Just sayin- decide for yourself.

Can I just say I adore Roger's suit? It fits like a glove! Those typical 1970s tan, grey, brown and patterned suits made a right fit essential. I mean, you could see every outline in those. In contrast, today's predominantly charcoal and navy blue suits can hide a lot of imperfections. And most people wearing them just go with it.

That was a great skit. I wonder if Harvey Korman's last statement about Gary stripping down naked in the middle of the living room was an unscripted addition? If it was it was hilarious and the reaction of Carol and Harvey was even funnier!

Wow...a young Joel Gray, I remember him for his outstanding performance on : Law and Order-Criminal Intent🥰

LOL! I still remember when this originally aired back in 1974, 13 years before he starred in "Cabaret". Funny to see Joel Grey so young. Such a tiny man - he's 5'4", I read. Yeah, we all KNEW he was gay long before he officially came out in 2015. That was no big surprise and no one cares, anyway.

CBS The Carol Burnett Show. I've thought that all my teen and early adult years. I absolutely adore Carol, Vicky, Harvey and Tim. Best of any comedy, unless it's I love Lucy. Gary from Gary. Is that a sequined Road Runner on the back of Gary's jacket? Vickie L was a doll back in the day. What a mommy's boy. When comedy was comedy.
