    I'm taking the test for the first time next month. I came here to see what to expect. The fire department is sending out a practice packet to my address so i can prepare. I hope I don't screw it up.

      Thanks for question. I surprised myself on how well I did. It was easier than I expected but I was tired afterwards. No issues with any part of the test, just make sure your stamina is good.
      Unfortunately I was not selected due to my lack of experience. They were only looking to hire 3 candidates and around 40 showed up to test. 2 of the 3 candidates selected had previous fire fighter experience or volunteer fire fighter experience. My interview wasn't great, I was really nervous and my lack of experience showed. My overall experience wasn't bad but admittedly I was disappointed.

    For anyone that took the CPAT and passed, did any of you receive the doctor's notice they said they were going to send out 4-6 weeks after?

      @@YellowFireFish Ok, cool. I feel like we're all left in the dark since the CPAT and they told us 4-6 weeks to receive something. But I called and they said they haven't sent anything out.

    • @YellowFireFish
      @YellowFireFish 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@willdiaz5366 I think it has to do with the latest Cov spike. During the interview portion at BCCC one of the lieutenants said that the academy would start on Jan 10th if you pass your CPAT during the first wave, Feb 4th if you passed the CPAT during the second wave. So that’s the only possible holdup I could think of. I hope they say something soon.

      @@YellowFireFish I remember the LT telling us the same exact thing during the interview, but he didn't give us dates. He just said at the end of January, February and then May or June or something like that.I called the office last week and they said they haven't sent anything out and to just look out for the e-mail. Kind of sucks to have everything happen quick and then just come to a complete stop. But I'm remaining optimistic.

    • @muscleman125
      @muscleman125 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You also need to think that most fire departments heavily rely on volunteers so easing the physical requirements makes it easier for them to have extra hands. Those volunteers who are serious about fire fighting, especially as a career will most likely consider getting into shape as they train, learn, and do their volunteer hours.

    Stairs at the end and only 4 flights (appx 40-50 steps)? That makes this remarkably easier than the standard CPAT. Why lower standards?

      @@AndrewTa530 Come on dude! A simple search shows Baltimore homicides for last 5 years has been 342 starting in 2017, 309 in '18, 348 in '19, 335 in '20, your stat for '21, and so far 49 this year. Biden's an old coot. But think about it, because you simply don't like Biden, you're implying that he is causing these rates, that have stayed at an average of 334.4 over the last 5 years?? This is why the left act so pompous, because of people on the right that don't like OUR PRESIDENT( OUR as in everyone that lives in this free country) revert to caveman logic.
      There was 3 line of duty deaths on Jan 24, when 3 Firefighters perished due to a building collapse while they were searching for a possible trapped victim. Those brave 3 were the first LOD deaths since 2014, when a Firefighter fell through the floor and subsequently died from smoke inhalation.
      It's amazing what 15 minutes of actual fact checking can do to prevent the spread of false narratives.
