Back about 1991 or 92, I saw Huey Lewis and the News doing a feee show after a triple a baseball game in Louisville. A huge storm came up from behind them and nearly blew the band off stage. They kept playing and never missed beat or note, almost like they didn't notice. Rain was coming in sideways. They played three more songs until the lightning started getting too close and they had to quit. I have always liked them, but had new found respect after seeing them that night.
Made my pal come with me to Yes and he fell asleep during the 20 mins solos so I owed him and went to Huey Lewis and The News and was shocked by the level of musicianship, Harmony vocals and showmanship!! Really great live band!!
I was singing this song jumping on our couch showing off for my visiting aunt and uncle when I was about 3-4 years old and fell and smoked my head on the coffee table and had my first ER experience!!! 😎😜
Another weird fact about Huey Lewis besides being on Lizzys LAD is the bass player Mario is the / was brother of John Cippolina of Quiksilver Messenger Service.
Huey Lewis is often forgotten....thanks for doing this on and for the best Bowie T. Everyone should read Huey’s story. He is a grad of Brown and traveled the world playing guitar and Harp before forming the News. It’s quite interesting.
Love this song … I was born in 82 so some of the earliest memories of hearing music for me was Huey on the radio. Great playing double J !!
