Listen for the resonance between the personal and geopolitical, the installation of performance, place and circumstance. Ever creative, the lived, meaningful life is part of Eternity. Go Bob!
Great audience video. Even better song. The impact while listening to this song will catch you off guard every time. And yes….Danko brought it to its knees.
I agree with your sentiment a tear for the 4 departed Band members. However, 5 greatest songwriters is not totally correct. Garth didn't write songs, Richard wrote a few, and if he hadn't been so addicted he could most likely have written more. Rick wrote a few, one or a few co wrote with Dylan, Helm did not write songs I think one. And after they left The Band I think Rick wrote some. This is not a critic of any of them, I believe writing songs is a talent you are born with, it can't really be learned, besides that they all had talents in spades, just in different areas. As Robbie said in an interview, some people write songs, some don't. Ringo don't write songs, Charlie Watts did not write songs.
Thanks for posting and Marty sure had his camera's working all angles for the next big realease. Hope some of the profits goes to R. R. children and not the restaurateur. Great song!
@@fillet64 How nice I have seen clips of Delphine on UTube, at the Oscars talking about her dad. All his children seems nice, i have seen several clips of Sebastian as well. Robbie did the right thing when he stopped touring and concentrated on his family.
Yeah, and Garth's sax solos at the end of the Last Waltz version are still some of my favorite musical moments ever. Just simply beautiful and dripping with emotion.
@@robmatthey7982 That whole song, the lyrics, Rick's voice, Robbie guitar solo at the end and Garth's as well, is just pure perfection. Robbie wrote it with Rick in mind, feeling he could sing it without coming off as self pity, of course Robbie was right. He had uncanny instincts when it came to music. One reason he is so missed.

Wonderful song. A tear for Rick, Richard, Levon and, of course, the great Robbie, one of five greatest songwriters of all time.

This is very nice, this song always breaks my heart, as good as this is the gold standard is Rick Danko's version from The Last Waltz.

Isn’t the gold standard of music the Last Waltz?
@@CarpLadYNWA Yes, in my opinion it is.
Rick Danko?
Just plain sad
Jim just needs his band mates as they do a better version.
