I trained with a trainer version of this, in one of Michael Janich's knife self defense courses in Estes Park Co. This design is a freaking awesome self defense tool. The whole thing is designed for maximum force transfer to that wicked wharncliffe edge. As far as EDC goes, yes it does indeed maul cardboard and easily fly through other edc cuts with that hollow ground blade. Spyderco's heat treatment on their S30V is fantastic. I've had their S30V hold a better edge than other brand's 20CV.
I’ve never been the biggest Spydie fan. But I love that blade shape and profile, and the concave thumb rest makes it very functional. The total length is right in my sweet spot too. You’ve convinced me on this one though… I’m getting one! (I just dropped close to $1000 on the EMP EDC Nymble T2 with Zircuti hardware kit, the Divo Stout 2, and the Perfect Pyrite Aficionado on Saturday, so I have to close another mortgage loan first🤣) Outstanding review, Miggy! 🔥Awesome Content Gang🔥

agreed paired with exotool deep carry clip....it's quite stealth as an EDC....But I have to admit this is a shower I love showing it off to my kind
