In this bonus episode we take a look at the Churchill Mk VII
I have taken some in depth photos from Bovington Tank Museum and the photos are free to use as you wish and can be found on my Patreon page (free to everyone) / 44003428
I think the bottles on the stowage bin are fire extinguishers. From what I've read they should be dark green with (probably) un-painted brass necks, but no doubt some were painted all over.
You're absolutely right about the casting texture on armour, most modellers seem to depict an even rough "stipple" but generally it's some random rough areas with some fairly smooth areas and patches of detached mill scale.
I'm working on this kit and your pics are really usefull !! Thx for sharing
Cheers- got a few pics of this, but not as close up. Excellent and very useful.
Great pics, thanks for sharing!
Taking an interest in these because of a 1/16 ready to run rc release by various companies
*Very good pictures, details are highlighted!*
The Bovington Crocodile flame tank is still a MkVII. The Crocodile variant was just an ordinary MkVII with the bow machine gun removed and replaced with the flame thrower. Internal pipes then went to the rear to a universal joint trailer hitch and the trailer held the flame liquid, a type of napalm, and the propellant gas. In case of battle damage the trailer could be jettisoned from within the tank. Tamiya did a very short run of the Crocodile which go for silly money now.
Thanks! The Crocodile is about to be re-released…
