Fabulous vlog guys. But oh my goodness, Genie, Genie+, lightening lanes, stand by - my brain hurts!!!!!! But you explained it all very well. Takes something of the spontaneity out of it. It was such a busy day for you. You two are like the energizer bunny.
Nicks shirt was created for Disneylands 65th anniversary and was sold in the Wonderland Gallery at Disney Springs in 2020, and Leighs hat is currently available at the Disney Character Warehouse on Vineland Blvd. at Lake Buena Vista.
Nick is so good with the kids ! The trouble with lightening lane it sends you backwards and forwards , I prefer to do each land ,then move on to the next one ! Also I can’t be bothered being on the phone every 5 mins ! All you see in the parks are people head down on their phones , it takes the fun out of it ! I don’t like having to make reservations, as I prefer to wake up and say shall we go to HS today , instead of having to prebook !

Great review. Have been so confused on how Genie worked. Thanks for explaining. Have been to Disney world many times but the best was the first time in 1989. Could walk straight on rides and characters roamed the park for you to have your photo with. Sigh, the good old days!!

Fantastic roundup of genie plus guys thank you. We are doing a split stay so only 10 nights at disney and whilst we will do a park everyday, paying ahead of time means we have to pay for the whole 14 nights of the ticket which is going to be 400 pounds extra for our family. On closer inspection I had already decided magic kingdom was possibly the only park that would make best use of it and you have confirmed that. Our daughter turns 8 whilst out there so we are going to treat ourselves to genie plus just on her birthday in magic kingdom - especially as we won't be going until the afternoon into the evening so won't have managed the early quiet period
Splash Mountain is only down for a short rehab, the total change over for the Princess and the Frog ride wont happen until at least 2023 or later.
So glad you guys had a good experience with Genie +, had to say it works similar to the DAS. Last trip we had that for our group and when we scanned in we got the next ride lined up. We managed to get a ton in in 3 days :)

I love Earl of sandwich in Disney Springs and the French Dip is also my favorite sandwich.
Great review and yes does grate a bit that it’s like fast pass but you have to pay for it now. But like you say you do get straight on. Great advice about using it at Magic Kingdom where they have the most rides and then park hop. You could pack as much in a day as you can then have a couple more relaxing days. Fab fab fab vlog!

The blue netting on the Tron construction roof is the workers safety netting so they can safely install the final fiberglass ceiling panels.

I think the whole Genie thingy finally makes sense, thank you! I guess it would be tempting to get Genie+ in order to get pretty much straight on the rides but I do think it’s sooooo expensive just for the tickets alone & Genie+ in addition to that cost just seems wrong & way over inflated?! Loving the vlogs ❤️ xx

Thank you, Leigh and Nick for this very helpful tutorial on Genie Plus. Thanks to your helpful advice and comments, I’m starting to get my head around it. We will only be in Florida for a week in November. I’m assuming from your vlog that you can purchase it on a day to day basis. ? As we will be incorporating a water park into our week, I’m guessing it won’t make sense to purchase a full weeks worth of Genie Plus.?

Loved this guys! One of the best reviews and explanations of the new fast pass system I’ve seen. I don’t think I’d mind it if it included ALL the rides, I find it really annoying that they’re not including space mountain and seven dwarfs etc, that’s another cost! This day is how we done Disney a lot, booked our 3 FPs in the AM then we’d just keep booking rides until we were done for the day. Hardly ever queued at Disney (stay on-site so always got good FP choices) Think I would rather pay for the main good rides like space and queue for the others but I hate the fact you have to pay for it now, it’s rubbish.
Love Nick screaming on thunder mountain so funny ! Chiffon cake was really nice it was enough for 4 of us ! I think it was $22 and we had a bottle of Prosecco!
I’m thinking the times that I went to Disney were probably all in the 70s because I remember having the different colored tickets that were A through E (I think) and once you had used all your tickets for a certain kind of ride, you couldn’t ride anymore. It seemed expensive then, but those prices that we paid back then would seem like next to nothing compared to the prices today. By the way, in addition to the dinner you had, that apple fritter looked delicious - I love warm apple fritters!
Splash Mountain is just being refurbed not re-themed, Disney haven’t yet announced when it’s going to happen 🙌🏻

The bread is delicious my husband and daughter asked for more at ohana. I asked for more of the dumplings. The noodles imo are yuk. Ohana was one and done for us but this is a good tip. Go here for the dumplings and bread 👍 thanks guys x

Hey guys, thanks a lot for this! - I was miffed when I heard about genie plus initially, but thinking back... Disney fast pass was pretty crap. It may have been free, but you only got a couple of good rides. The third option was always rubbish. Then you rarely were able to get any other rides after that and had to wait until you'd done all three before you could. If you could get any more fast passes, they were usually ones you could just walk on anyway! Whereas, with genie plus, it seems like you can get on a lot more rides and not just the rubbish ones. It looks like you can get genie plus tagged on to Disney 14 day tickets now - so, I'd probably just opt for that and pay in advance.
Thanks guys for review of genie plus i have added it to my ticket for later this year did not realise you cannot book your next ride till you use your first thought it worked like old fast pass when you could book 2 at once now I know, still concerned about the tech side of it all as I am not that good with technology but I will have a 14 year old with me and he will know what to do enjoying all your vlogs although i have been coming to orlando since the nineties you have shown me places I have never visited.

Kona Cafe is the best kept secret restaurant, great food at great prices and a very good breakfast menu too.
The Mickey Mouse design on your cars GPS is where the solar panels are located on the WDW property, you can see the Mickey ears design from an airplane.

I’m sure someone’s already put this but you can start to book genie+ from 7am, not sure if you mentioned that. Good review, I’m due to go in Nov and paid the extra £100 for it as thought it was worth it to have the option to use it, plus it’ll be a lot busier when I come due to the Christmas rush.
Yeah the ride times were a little wrong when I was there, some of the times were walk on's. Even when I went to see Minnie, think the girl said they couldn't be bothered to update the time, think it was a 40mins on the board but waited 15mins. Its just a shame it stops you booking rides and says you've reached the max amount for today or that might have been me. Even when I booked genie and also managed to get a walk on earlier, nice double ride

Great vlog guys! We’ve pre-paid Genie Plus for our entire August trip 👍 - great review of Kona Cafe - we’ll try it as staying at Poly for part of our trip but when I checked the online menu for dinner that stir fry chicken was missing and only on lunch menu - did you just ask for it?

We are at Aulani Resort this week in Honolulu, where they have Joffrey's coffee. It is not good when compared to the Hawaiian coffee. Their Kona coffee is fabulous! Puts all stateside coffee to shame, including Starbucks.
Would you buy it for a busy day for a solo trip at Magic Kingdom? I heard it's not worth it but I'm wondering your thoughts.
genie plus is probably a good idea, agree though that Disney are making extra money. Wouldnt really want to go around on my phone all day though. Like Nick said you could book these fast passes up 90 days prior to visiting. I am 69 and want to come back again but would struggle i think.
Watching your latest vlogg and can't believe how they are getting these times so wrong , definitely for a reason . Why don't they do old school if they really need to know . Remember the days when they would hand you a lanyard at the entrance , to hand in when you get on , and it was spot on with times . Iv said this so many times watching , Disney Is slowly loosing it's magic , and loosing there older generation, feel sorry for the new visitors as I can't see them going back , as the people seem to keep going 😢

I have mixed feelings about the genie +.I can remember feeling annoyed at having to pay extra for universal . I think we pay enough for the Disney tickets and will not be happy if we don't get to ride much . I can't see the money in just walking around parks 😭

So if at the beginning you had paid for the 5.45 seven dwarves mine train does that mean you can’t book any other light I g lanes before it or because it’s a separate pay it doesn’t count !?
ILR you can buy and ride one per day but genie plus is different
Doesn't count towards your genie plus rides - the individual lightning lane attractions are separate
Thanks for the Genie+ review. Just a quick question…If you have bought Genie+ for the day at Magic Kingdom and decided to park hop to say Hollywood Studios, can you book a Genie+ ride before you get to Hollywood Studios or do you have to be in the next park before you book the rides?

yes you can book one hs if your still in MK and you've either ridden your last one or waited 2 hours

Wow I thought genie+ was suppose to cut the queues down, it was better when the fastpasses was around, disney just made the queues worse as fastpasses was never this big, can you imagine what the summer holidays is going to be like if this is January & schools are back. 🙄🙄🙄

yes there is also a lot of dust in the inside lense, it's served us well but we will be looking to upgrade soon

Hi Kristine. Thanks for watching. You are correct about wearing Masks on Thunder Mountain. We admit, until this vlog went out and a couple of people mentioned it, we were mistakenly unaware that you had to wear them on TM. As it is an outside ride we were under the impression we could take them off. We now know otherwise. Thank you and others for making us aware of that

I don't find them fast talking but perhaps you struggle with their British dialect. You can slow down video playback by clicking on the cogwheel settings. The way your complaining makes it seem kind of rude when this is strictly a YOU problem, though.
