These two words "BEING, AND HAVING" have got wider meanings and usages. These are used in making participle (participial) phrases. Be = become, remain (being = remaining, becoming); this way, we use "Being an Indian, he respects wherever he goes. It goes like driving -> driving. Driving the car, she enjoyed the natural beauty. Here the usage is like present participles. HAVING -> having been/ having got a degree/ having received an award...-> Having received an award, she became very popular. Having deposited the money in a bank, he lived happily. Not sure why these extended usages have not been covered here.

You have been selected നിങ്ങൾ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നർത്ഥം. അതായതു നിങ്ങൾ "കുറച്ചു സമയം മുമ്പ്" സെലക്ട് ചെയ്തു കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നർത്ഥം വരും. പക്ഷെ You selected എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തെറ്റാണു. പകരം You are selected എന്ന് പറയാം. അതായതു നിങ്ങൾ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെടുന്നു. അല്ലെങ്കിൽ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടികൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.. പറയുന്ന സമയത്തു നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണിത്.
'You have been selected' എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ഇത് പ്രസൻ്റ് പെർഫക്ട് ടെൻസിലുള്ള ഒരു വാചകത്തിൻ്റെ പാസീവ് വോയിസ് രൂപമാണ്. We have Selected you എന്നതാണ് ഇതിൻ്റെ ആക്ടീവ് രൂപം . ഇനി you are selected എന്നാൽ we selected you എന്ന സിംപിൾ പാസ്റ്റ് വാചകത്തിൻ്റെ പാസീവ് വോയിസ് രൂപമാണ്. നിങ്ങൾ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു. അർഥമൊക്കെ ഏകദേശം ഒന്നു തന്നെ. രണ്ട് ടെൻസുകളാണ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് മാത്രം. അതും അവയുടെ പാസീവ് വോയിസ് രൂപം. നിങ്ങൾ എഴുതിയ you selected എന്നതിന് നിങ്ങൾ ആരെയോ സെലക്ട് ചെയ്തു എന്നാണ് അർത്ഥം. ഉദാ: you selected Sanju.
