"Advocat" is an alcohol made from egg yolks. It has a very peculiar taste i'm not a fan of it either. Pawelek's are not for everyone. Was fun to see your genuine reaction XD
Eating Ptasie Mleczko with chocolate first is something we do as kids for fun I guess and it kinda sticks. It's satisfying and you get to savor the taste lol. As a kid I'd also eat waffles piece by piece with each layer.
No no noooo we don't eat WW like that. you have to eat each part separately. you have to break one strip of waffle and then eat, we prefer smaller pieces : D
3:30 Almost everyone did it as a child, and every child does it. Likewise, with 'delicje' cookies, children usually eat sponge cake first and then jelly.
@@kensolojapa Why exactly, hard to say. It's just a thing everybody tries at one point while watching television or something. People, and especially little kids, will play and experiment with their snacks when bored. It's almost universal - most of the people claim that they've tried at least once to eat Delicje or Ptasie Mleczko this way, which I guess gave rise to this rite of passage meme claiming "the one and only correct way to eat Delicje/Ptasie Mleczko". However, that's just my take on this phenomenon.

I agree, try sękacz. But look for different flavours and manufacturers. Some of them are great, other are terrible. Some are covered with chocolate, other not.
Those "recommended ways" of eating Ptasie Mleczko is purely for fun. Most people in Poland used to eat it as kids in groups, since those big boxes are tough to finish on your own. Kids being kids mess with everything, including obviously with food. So for us this way of eating is mainly for its nostalgic value than for taste.

When I was a kid, my mother always bought Bajeczny for me, Pierrot for herself and Pawełek for all of us. But after some time Wedel changed recipes and since then they are not the same. Bajeczny and Pierrot are still good, but were better. But Pawełek was a lot better than it is today.

Hey, here is how to eat ptasie mleczko correctly according to most polish people: First, you bite the chocolate off and then u eat the marshmallow part
And you're right - ptasie mleczko is not mashmellow, it's just different texture, more like fluffy pana cotta? That's why it's called "bird's milk" (direct translation of "ptasie mleczko"), cause so fluffy and airy, flying milk :))
To be fair, what Americans call marshmallow is also not real marshmallow:) Everything which is kind of fluffy and spongy in texture now is called 'marshmallow' now, so I think it is proper translation. Fun fact: 'marshmallow' means literally 'prawoślaz lekarski' in Polish, kind of herb of which through centuries sticky-sweet paste was made so it could be used for base for different sweets. Also in Poland. Do you know 'pańska skórka' candies? They were also made with prawoślaz--marshmallow. Recipe for it is almost the same as for original American marshmallows, but proportions were different so it was much thicker and weightier. That's why tastes of pańska skórka and marshmallows are very similar. :)
