Tons of projection on the writers part dude. Also THANK YOU!! I get mocking flak concerning self preservation all the time from a lot of people. Locking doors on your house especially at night but also at day. Locking your car. Leaving your car doors unlocked then saying someone broke into your car. I mean dude just common sense things you can do that are not off the beaten path of normal. These people are very out of touch with reality. I spent years getting on my kids about leaving doors unlocked in the evening. Yeah I am going to check them in my rounds before bed but why be okay with it?
The world IS this way and your opinion will never change that. Loved this one.

Really interesting to hear about 'same but different' behavior. Around here leaving your car or door unlocked would be inconceivable lol --- but jogging alone through the park in the middle of the night is somehow different apparently. Thank you again for all your kind comments :)

Telling people to text you're safe is sexist? Thats just her making up something to write about. The phones are tracking her already, hate to tell her. The payoff of this tracking is that it does keep you safer than being out, actually on your own. Even hitchhiking is a lot safer. You can text license plate to friend or family member even b4 getting in the vehicle, along with location. And if they don't get updated they CAN call the cops. Again, I think that whole article is just bla bla bla to get a story out. So stupid. Also I used to drive Uber in the busiest college town. Several times I would pick up mother and daughter touring the campus and the mother would worry about how safe it was. I would tell them, the way to be safe is to be aware, don't get black-out drunk and go alone with guys. Sure, they shouldn't take advantage. People do things they shouldn't all the time, then its too late. Take the attitude of, I'm in charge of my body and I will never do anything to make myself vulnerable or in danger. Don't worry about what they do, worry about what you do and you will be safe. Most mothers said they never thought of it like that. I just couldn't believ it.
