Ironic, right? They only made it to the second round thanks to a couple of penalties (one to defeat Serbia and another to tie a match they were losing to Australia). In the end they missed a penalty that could have qualified them to the semis and during the penalty shoot out they lost it all. But the play that ended up in that last minute penalty comes from a SIMULATION by a Ghanian player
Zoomflywire15 definitely one of the biggest if not thé biggest scandal ever. Those refereeing decisions and the foul play by the South Korean team was horrific.
+Arsenal 13 pl titles Chelsea 5 u guys have more titles but not more premier league titles u guys also have more because u guys were founded way before Chelsea so u guys had more time for titles
it's a shame the Ghana player missed. but if you think about it, the goal had already been score had Suarez not put his hands in the way. it's very shameful
The Suarez thing should've been No. 1 or 2. The entire Africa was watching that match with hope that one of our own would make a mark on world football. Since then I've never rated Suarez
What about the fact that the free kick which led to Suarez's hand ball was a bad call by the ref? I notice that no one seems to remember that the foul never occurred, so technically Ghana shouldn't have had a free kick in the first place. Also, what about Gyan bottling it when he could have given his team the win. Do you still rate him? Because if you ask me, between the two; Suarez did what he needed to in order to keep his country in the competition whereas Gyan took his country out of it.
Suarez's handball in the 2010 World Cup against Ghana was as much cheating as a slide tackle from behind in the box that made no attempt at the ball. If you think he cheated there because he deliberately broke the rules, then any tactical foul is also cheating no matter where, when, or how it was done. If you're actually making that case then (no pun intended) bite me. You'd be better served making the case that diving is cheating, because the player is not only deliberately breaking the rules, but he's attempting to deceive the referee as well. Suarez didn't do that when he handled the ball to stop it from going in. He broke the rules knowing he'd receive a red card. It was a calculated infraction just like any tactical foul to stop a fast break. Stop making it more than that just because Gyan missed the subsequent penalty and Ghana went on to lose the match. It's petty and irrational.
Again, why is he a cheater? He was expelled after that, had he not been expelled I would agree with you, but he was rightfully suspended by the referee.
Quazzimodo Productions lmfao that's such an armchair thing to say. If u were in that stadium and in Suarez's position any football fan would react the same way. Gyan's fault for bottling the pen anyway
What Suarez did was in my opinion the right choice to save his team and celebrating because it worked out as planned would be the reaction that anyone who did something similar would have
Suarez's handball in the 2010 World Cup against Ghana was as much cheating as a slide tackle from behind in the box that made no attempt at the ball. If you think he cheated there because he deliberately broke the rules, then any tactical foul is also cheating no matter where, when, or how it was done. That’s one thing I’ll never respect the “pistols” ever again. Protest that Wenger should leave when he’s brought so much to that team. United didn’t want Fergie to leave. Tbh both teams are suffering without them both. As a United fan. I’m missing Fergie every day.
There are many cases similar to Suarez hand ball, Ireland did not qualify to the world cup when Thiery Henry controlled the ball with his hand which resulted in a goal that sent France to the WC and Ireland out.
The Suarez handball is genuinley one of my favorite moments in football history. It just brings up so much raw emotion about the game, and its so perfectly infuriating that nobody will ever forget. Africa has never made it to the semis, and honestly Suarez is like 99% of why since that Ghana squad was a real contender to do it.
Rangers, Sir David Murray, Craig White, Charles Green, resolution 12, dual contracts, improperly registered players, EBT’s, the SFA, Sevco, the five way agreement.... The hard part is choosing one of the above to leave out and just have a list of ten.
It still makes my blood boil when I see some players behaving despicably, and they insist they haven't done anything wrong, even though the video evidence shows otherwise.
one of the saddest parts about Suarez's hand ball in the world cup was he was not the only player from the Uruguay side that reached for that hand ball. There was at least one other player right next to him that also turned into a goalkeeper all of a sudden. Never in my life have I seen a team full of cheaters ready to disgrace the game and the rules they've learned since they were kids. Its literally childish. Add to the fact that Suarez has been caught on camera biting 3 players (just think how many times he did it and got away with it), he is by far the biggest disgrace to the game at the moment. I cant even appreciate his wonderful talent anymore, and frankly I wont be able to root for barca when he is playing.
You should've been in the stands for Bristol City vs Brighton in the EFL Championship, in Nov 2016. Brighton sang 'ooh ahh, you're shit ahh!!' And screaming 'we don't care' during a minute silence for that Belgium airport attack. And get this, when after the minute silence, almost every City fan chanted at Brighton 'what was that for?', they hit on of our fans. And WE were blamed for the incident! Apparently, according to the FA, City 'shouldn't have provoked them'. Though the fan was forced to do Community Service
Suarez moment wasn't disgraceful. Infact, it was some of the better goalkeeping in the tournament honestly. And it was kinda funny the way it knocked out Africa's last representative out of the World Cup
It's funny Suarez did countless things that would perfectly fit in this video. What's in this video however, I'd hardly call a disgrace to football. In fact, I'm pretty sure most people would've made that save themselves. As for the things with Evra, that's more a disgrace for Suarez himself, than it is a disgrace to football -- and even if you think it's s reflection on football, it isn't really something I'd expect to see in a video like this. There are just so many worse things.
Moments that disgraced football? How about this? -Calciopoli scandal -South Korea fixing refrees in 2002 World Cup -Heysel tragedy -Not reducing the number of foreign players in club teams -Suarez being born -Messi the most iconic football figure not paying taxes -Maradona same -Materazzi provoking Zidane -All the players who abused animals and fans alike
As a person who hates Suarez, the Suarez hand ball was smart. He kept his team alive and he got a red card. Its not like he didn't get punished for what he did. His celebration was not surprising.. his team stayed in the world cup. It shouldn't be on this list.
To those whining about Suarez vs Ghana: Suárez got a red card. A penalty was given. Justice was served. Ghana had the opportunity with the last kick of the game. Ghana could've literally made history with that penalty by being the first African team in a WC semi final. They fucked it up. You're blaming the person who gave you the opportunity.
People need to get over it and actually watch the whole series of events of Suarez's handball. Suarez saved Uruguay from unfair elimination when the ref called a free kick from a blatant dive in the 120th minute. And to top it off, on said free kick, before the handball, the play should've been called offside.
What about Henry's handball against Ireland, Maradona's "hand of God" and Messi's handball goal. Everyone remembers Suarez, but there are others who actually got away with it. That doesn't make it right.
How about match fixing which probably happens everyday? Gambling has completely ruined football, interest behind the scene is too big and corruption simply can not be prevented.
Honestly Suarez during the World Cup wasn't THAT big of a deal. Ghana may have be robbed of the goal, but they still HAD the chance to score with a penalty. It was Ghana not being able to close them off. They also had overtime to score. It's not like that one moment ended Ghana's chances
The Suarez handball decision was made in about half a second, an instant reaction with the last kick of the game. I imagine at least half of footballers would do the same if they knew they';d be going out if they lost in the World's elite stage.
There was a match fixing scandal where Barca bribed officials when Mourinho was Madrid manager though. Don't say it as if it's a bad thing when he accuses them of doing something they did.
That was proven to be utter rubbish mourinho ruined the life of that ref causing his life to be threatened severally and him to retire just cause mourinho was a sore loser FIFA and uefa both cleared the ref and Barcelona
+Football Daily Ok, so either I heard it wrong, or there's a mistake at 7:17... At the 2011 UCL Final, it was Man United that lost to Barcelona, not us... Sorry guys, I usually don't comment if I hear any mistakes, but I didn't see any comments about it, so as a huge and long-time Madridista, I couldn't help myself.. :)
I can understand the final one in this video. If the booing fans felt that due respect hadn't been shown previously, their resentment is at least explainable.
Has anyone seen the moments prior to that last minute penalty during Uruguay vs. Ghana? There was a free kick that would eventually ended up in that penalty: that kick comes from a foul that DID NOT EVEN EXIST since a Ghanian player faked an infraction (no one even touched him). Therefore had Ghana scored, it would have been equally unfair. Suarez was sent off (as he had to be) and Ghana got a penalty they could not convert, that is not Suarez' fault. Penalties (in the match and during a penalty shoot out) keep Ghana from making it further and curiously Ghana made it past the first round due to just a couple of penalties, no goals in open play
Luis Suarez is a Uruguayan national hero and anyone saying they wouldn't do what he did has no love for their country. People fail to understand Ghana lost because Gyan missed the penalty AND the penalty shootout.

Keanan Bourke same they are like us they are clever without them we wouldn't be alive just coz animals are different than us don't mean you can throw them over a fudgeing fence that's like 30 ft tall
used to not respect suarez but as i got older and became an aspiring athlete i realized that sometimes you want to win or you want something so bad you will do things you never thought you would do and that pretty much what suarez did. Biting someone isn't as bad as half of things other people have done to make it anyways don't know why he gets so much stick double standards
Man.. The only reason Suarez didn't shake Evra's hand was because Evra retracted his hand when Suarez was approaching him, making Suarez think Evra didn't want to shake his hand. I don't understand why Suarez always gets the blame for that hand shake
Which other disgraceful moments do you think should have made our list?

Not life in prison but lifetime ban and a prison sentence 6 months is fair no good behaviour early release though
Rip owl :(
used to not respect suarez but as i got older and became an aspiring athlete i realized that sometimes you want to win or you want something so bad you will do things you never thought you would do and that pretty much what suarez did. Biting someone isn't as bad as half of things other people have done to make it anyways don't know why he gets so much stick double standards
2:47 lol
Man.. The only reason Suarez didn't shake Evra's hand was because Evra retracted his hand when Suarez was approaching him, making Suarez think Evra didn't want to shake his hand. I don't understand why Suarez always gets the blame for that hand shake
What about el Maracanazo? Chile getting banned from the 1990 and 1994 world cups? Roberto Rojas getting banned for life?!
Can't stand when people aren't silent during the moment of silence. Disgusting
