    The first drill instructor was one of my DIs, sergeant Borjon, he was fresh from drill instructor school and came to our platoon in the second month...sorry to say but he was the weak link, his voice wasn’t loud, he wasn’t intimidating at all, he’d get super gassed out on our humps, I have respect for the guy but it was hard to take him serious throughout boot camp.

    Being an old Marine myself,
    there’s little reason to flame these high school cadets like this. They’re already nervous and scared. There are ways to make them stumble, THEN you flame them. Hopefully, these DIs debriefed these cadets afterwards.

      I live in the UK and our ATC used to be paired with an American base. Every so often an American Liaison Officer would come down and he had ribbons coming out of his ears. Asked him what they were for to which he replied "This one was for killing Osama or some shit, and I don't really know about the rest"

    • @MrMac824
      @MrMac824 10 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      JROTC ribbons and medals are only relevant to JROTC, not the real military. That's why they have so many. When I was in JROTC I had ribbons/medals for shit like attendance, good grades, for participating in a school parade. None of them carry over to the real military.

    • @philipem1000
      @philipem1000 10 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Still, be careful who you go off on based on your short life span of experience boy. I am a patient man and a teacher since leaving my real (not virtual) decades of real service. As we used to say to the new and usless recruits: Get Some Time In. You dont even know yet who you are. When you know, contact me again. This is my last 2 u.

    Also I suggest against Musashi. He didn't have any great things to say, he simply refused to play the game the way everyone else was. He was more of a butcher than anything. Even he himself came to regret almost everything he did later in life.

They carried themselves with a dignity that commanded our respect and caused us to respect each other. Instead of yelling; they made us LISTEN. Believe me or not. Read Sun Tzu. Read Musashi. Extrodius How is it BS? explain to me. DI''s do this to Marine recruits to stress them out and prepare them for the reality of war or at least come as close as possible to reality since war can't really be reproduced to train. These kinds of inspectors aren't too common but my unit still prepares for these. During inspection when the DI's yell, It helps them see how well prepared the cadets are.

    • @xxkimeexx408
      @xxkimeexx408 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TrueWW2History Reality of the war is to repeatedly yell at the enemy? My country went through the war reacently and this won't prepare you for that. This seems to be mental institution preparations rather than war.
      This doesn't seem to upgrade physical or mental fitness. Doesn't teach you tactics, formations or weapon usage. So how exactly does it help in war or help DI's figur out how well is someone prepared? Please explain

    It's on excessive yelling if you're anything less than a United States Marine. That's how the Drill Instructors train recruits to react in chaos with putting them in actual danger. By the way, that Marine is very competent. He's probably more competent than any Army Drill Sergeants or Air Force Military Training Instructors I've witnessed. One thing to remember, if you're not a Marine and have never through 13 weeks of Marine Corps Recruit Training, shut your damn mouth... PERIOD...

    Excessive barking or not, it's his job to do that. He is a Drill INSPECTOR. He has the right to inspect the detail as he sees fit. Unless you guys have experience in a good Drill Inspection then don't comment. I bet you these cadets went home and studied their knowledge to the best of their ability and pressed their uniform to a T after this inspection.
    Besides, they're supposed to:

  • @valogrid23

    My family has multiple generations of Marines. If anything most of them would tell you that whole Parris Island Marine Corps Boot Camp has dumbed down from what it use to be. And this "hazing" he is doing the kids is nothing more but loud and intense yelling. Do you know what the purpose of that is? Its because war isn't quite and easy, its loud and stressful. All my DIs i had were combat vets too, infact most of them are. I've been choked by a DI its not a fun experience, but i fucked up.

  • @thewarrantw4

    MY basic training experience? My DI's were ALL REAL combat vets. And NONE of them indulged themselves in this sort of unprofessional conduct. Are YOU saying this is the only way to train? Soldiers? Marines? Police? Firefighters? No. There is a better way, its just more difficult for the instructor. These "DI's" in the video are obviously untrained. If this is what we have come today, it is no wonder the record of unprofessional conduct cases we are racking up. Do a web search and be shocked.
