The problem is that you can only get 5 tokens a day, as a F2P player. You need 12 tokens to get 1 mega box. So you have to play for three days to get a single box that is most likely cosmetics. Which is why I thought they would make the tokens unlimited, or at least give you enough tokens to get one box a day.
I mean there are gonna be the quests on weekends and the challenge so...

@@farmer1832 You get one from the quest, two from the random modes, one from mirror match, and one from drumroll. Only five a day for F2P. This event is even more P2W than the Egg event.
Uctually its 4 tokens a day from winning and 1 token per 2 days for quest so its 90 yokens in 20 days 90/12 is 7.5boxes(7)

So i didn't know there would be a challange for tokens and a megabox, dani tweeted that in the whole event you will get exactly 10 chests(enaugh for the guaranteed rico skin) and it was intentionall, they planned it so you only get 10 boxes unless you pay

Getting only 2 rewards from a box is the worst feeling ever.
This feels like a standard brawl box but with cosmetics. The progression is very dissapointing and it honestly hurts to open these. Those are not megaboxes, not in the slightest

I don’t like the new adaptation of mega boxes I feel like cosmetics are just a gimmick to make players feel like they are getting something but it doesn’t feel the same as a free 1k coins every box

I heard from someone that a Big Box (the purple brawl box) gave more value than the new mega boxes, which shows how the new mega boxes have definitely changed in value compared to their old counterpart.

The issue is that it takes too long to open them because they barely give us any tokens. On top of that, 2 weeks within this event I can't play anyway. So.... I am not getting that Rico skin. Meh, I already have Final Boss which is the best Rico skin in my opinion.

Tbh I was really dissapointed by this mega boxes. Since I have all brawlers the only profit I can get is coins and power points. The problem is that you get so little. Like what am I gonna do with 50 coins and 30 power points?

Kids are spamming the official Brawl Stars comment section saying things like “they heard our cries…” which is bull***t, because these mega boxes are completely different. They give cosmetics and gems, which… now they’re just Starr drops with gems. You didn’t get anything back at all

Fun fact to og players: Yk how when u wait for a box in general to open it says this "Tap to open!" thing and the animatioj being smooth? Ye, thwy were so gosh darn lazy that the animation for opening has a 5 second cycle. It waits, it says "Tap,tap!" and it just starts the animation again. Unplayable game.

Based on some of the videos I watched from alpha servers of youtubers opening a ton of boxes, most of the stuff at the beginning will be cosmetics simply because they are much more likely to appear in mega boxes. After you get all of the new cosmetics however, those options won't be available and real rewards will start to be given. TLDR, buy all of the 1000 bling skins on the og 24 brawlers that were present at global and you should have the best odds of getting through the skins as soon as possible.
The problem is by the time we get all the cosmetics the event will end
You can get one box roughly every 3 days and the event is 20 days total
Which means you'll only get about 10 boxes through the whole event with the free box and the mega box challenge coming soon...

I made a huge mistake of wasting 100 gems on five megaboxes. I didn't get anything. No skins, no brawlers. Only pins bling in just three gems these mega boxes are bad
it's just not the same. i remember in the old boxes the best thing about them was unlocking starpowers and gadgets from them for free. you just don't get that in today's brawlstars even though starr drops exist. i was really hoping they would be similar to that but was extremely disappointed by the result

I wished they buffed the drop rates, I get like 40 coins and a pin in each box overall I like the skins and the nostalgia that comes with the event but only getting one box every 3 days F2P is annoying lol.

The only thing nostalgic in that update for me is, well some of the player icons and kiind of star tokens🫤. The mega boxes are more like cosmetic boxes not progression boxes when it was with the power points.😅 The gamemodes they introduced were never in the nostalgic brawl even tho the classic brawlers are a nische touch.👏 They could have done the shop from up to down like it used to be, not left and right when TICK was introduced🫤 and they could have brought back siege, lone star or some of the OG maps and removed star powers on some of the brawlers👌. The loading screen could have stayed like it was after global not the futuristic look on it😉 aand thats about it. Thats all I have to say so byye👋.

My only problem is after doing the math I found out I won’t be able to get sovereign Rico without paying. That really ticks me off (no pun intended) because it’s marketed as a mostly free event
I just clicked on the video and saw that everyone is getting a free megabox, I go straight to open the mega box and see 2 glowing in the mega box. I was confused because I had every brawler, so I just thought it would a star power or something but it was the new rico skin, this had to be a speedrun to getting a new skin after opening up the game.

Also it's impossible to get solverine rico with buying smth since you gain 5 tokens per day, 5 x 20 = 100, 100/12 = 8 but since you get 1 megabox for free you can only get 9 megaboxes.
Dude the event is 19 days not 12 also there is a challenge during the event so you can complete the 10 mega boxes and get the hyper charge skin trust me I am f2p and I know

The exiting thing about Megaboxes were getting Starpowers (and later gadgeds), and this is missing.
I didn't exact pay attention when opening my free box, but I think there was a 500 (or some large number) credits in there, which was quite a bit of progress for Drake.

i really love the event though i don't like the way to claim the mega boxes, But there's something that really annoys me and i don't know if its my phone for being old edition but the game mode tab glitches for me and doesn't let me play it unless i reset my game and hurry to change the mode, but besides that this event does not have an issue, I'm loving the event apart from the pay walls
reys battery 99% of the time is below 50 but that 1% is 90+XD
The problem with these boxes that I don't think comes across this video well is that there are total 8 boxes people will receive across the event due to it being 12 tokens per box

I opened the free one and got 10 items remaining. and 8 was blinking. Just to get 2 skins (beach brock and stellar shelly) and a sh... load of cosmetics. I really like them as a concept and it gives the nostalgia, but as a f2p progression oriented player this is extremely painful. I like the skins, I'm just sad it's only them, and the odds of getting 1000 coins or 100 gems (so top 2 most wanted drops for me) is laughable. It's like 0.0XX% for both of these, I've checked on the website. I will spend 80 gems for 2 of these if I'm gonna end up with 8/10 boxes for guaranteed rico skin, but won't spend anything more for sure.

Cosmetics are only exciting in games where you already have the whole game at your fingertips like Valorant or Fortnite. Here it's just frustrating.

Worst thing about this event imo is the fact they just took hunters and said “what if we made this, but even worse?” and then made drum roll.

I am curious if the old luck system where the more boxes you open the higher chance of you getting a rare drop applies to the new boxes.
Honestly not that different from the old days. Cause back in the day this happened alot. I remember saving 80 gems for days and getting absulote nothing. And now the economy has change alot. Back in the day boxes were the only source of coins so there was more coins. But now we get aton of coins from the brawl pass. Most people are just blinded by nostalgia that they blocked all the disappointment mega boxes they got back in the day

@@reybrawlstars I really dislike that pins are after skins/brawlers, my free mega box was 10 items, was blinking on 8, just for me to get only 2 skins and 6 pins/pps. Like, originally once they started to blink everything until the end was blinking, and that box blinked at 8, and then stopped blinking at 6 and on. Imagine my dopamine rush when I saw that 10 and then the 8 blinking tho lol. Sadly got very disappointed afterwards.

Opened 8 mega boxes. First 3 provided some cool cosmetics, rest was all garbage.
I am seeing a lot of comments about how mega boxes are a disappointment but what people are not getting is that boxes are removed and there is a new progression system. So supercell would never make the mega boxes same again as that will disrupt that system(f2p player😢)

The new megabox basically are equal to 6 monster egg combine together, basically a recolor event of last season
Imo they shouldn't change the box drops but you should be able to get atleast 1 box a day. F2p players (including me) will barely get the 10 boxes for the HC skin
It’s only cosmetic wise and the funny thing was that on my second mega box I got Meg
I feel like at least one cosmetic should be guaranteed in these mega boxes, especially because the progression is so tuned down.
I've opened 5 boxes so far, I literally got NO cosmetics and very little progression to show for it.
I know I probably got unlucky, but it just seems crazy to me that I basically got nothing from 5 boxes.
I probably would've got more from 5 Starr drops, to be honest.
And even worse, I spent 79 gems on 2 boxes.

Also my thoughts on the event: It's very cool and the mega boxes are very nostalgic but i think what the problem is that it is very cosmatic based. If you look at a pin or profile icon in the catalog, it cost gems and bling to buy them (and very much too), so i think that's how Supercell want's it to work. Players are probably sad because it isn't very progression-based, but idk it's just a theory

these drop rates look awful. like the amount of times rey got a three or four box with under 100 coins and power points

The number counts any cosmetics attached ro a skin which is a bit misleading in my opinion

I really don’t like that they get you all excited and put a blinking 3 before it goes back to normal. These boxes are nothing like the old ones
I got 2 brawlers from one box in my mini account. I feel that these boxes have the same drop rates like star drops.
Best way to spend your gems in my opinion is to buy brawlers when they are 50% off in the shop.

I think for the event they should have changed the star drops to brawl boxes
i think that when you get a shining 1 its probably a brawler becouse if u get shining 5 or something it means its a skin and maybe some pins and player icons to it
I mean I got the best drop possible (max profile icon) from the first free mega box so I'm already happy about the event.
