Luna was bitten and startled quite badly by a dog who we accidently startled turning a corner and in this dog's fearful state, took a chomp at Luna, resulting in a low level bite but unfortunately did take a toll on her psyche. This video along with the ones to follow, will show Luna's progress and the training it takes to get her back to her bouncy self again.
*Poor Luna! Glad she was ok*
My little border collie, Sabira, got bitten over the nose about a year ago. It resulted in vet appointments and medication cause the breathing ways in her nose was punctured and she even got eye infection. Even though it was very painful and surprising she never had any problems with other dogs after this, luckily. She even wanted to play with the dog that had bitten her even while she was on her medication :P
Im really impressed by how well you know Luna though, and how you are training her to regain the trust that she lost in other dogs. I wouldn't even have thought about doing it that way. Keep on making these great videos! (forgive my bad english)
Here is Luna's first session to assess her behaviour.
Great video!
I love the new intro! Willow and I wish Luna a speedy recovery. :)
Kristin - This is exactly the problem my dog has. I have been unable to enter him in competition since he has become fearful of other dogs. I am really looking forward to your other videos. Thank you so much!
Thanks for showing ... looking forward to the following vids
Thanks Kristin
Good luck with Luna!
Oh, my heart just hurts for your sweet dog. This video is so informative, and you are so knowledgeable! Thank you, and I look forward to watching Luna heal!
You make great dog videos
Awe! Poor Luna!
Sorry your to see that Luna has had her confidence shaken! I'm sure she'll bounce back like a trooper! Do you plan on using Behavior Adjustment Training with her?
Would love to follow your Facebook page, but can't find it. Link?
Cristina is possible that your videos have traslate in spanish, a hang from Colombia, thanks.
My rescue dog was not socialized well as a puppy and until recently he had no situations in which he could be off leash around other dogs now we live with my mom and she recently adopted a very active and curious puppy
It has taken a lot of time and he still has some issues with the puppy getting around his bones or food
The puppy loves the dog park but when we took my dog he got very aggressive with the other dogs so i had to keep him on leash and actually ended up taking him out of the fenced area
Would this type of training help with his aggressive behavior towards strange dogs
Is she still fine with dogs that she knows?
=(((((( I hope the poor girl feels better. I wouldn't be alright if a stranger randomly took a bite out of me either =(((
Just put a phone pager on the collar has any heard of haptics
Clickers are STUPID! What if you don't have your clicker? Use your voice!
L Robin You of course can use your voice as a verbal marker. The only thing about a clicker that makes it great to use it's a very distinctive noise - however you do not NEED a clicker, it just speedens up the process in some cases.
