That large formation of spitfires is a sight of beauty. To think my great gran and aunt helped to build that wonderful aircraft here in southampton when it was the woolston supermarine factory makes me proud to know i have that connection

Some of the best, if not the best air show video I have ever seen. Amazing close up shots, in particular the Red Arrows. Truly spectacular, made all the better for being shot in a countryside setting. 🏆

If you are in the main flight path at a airport they are operating at, you will get good footage. I live near southampton airport and often get great views of any spits or hurricanes flying overhead

@@karlpedersen7 Yep, politicians are systematically destroying this country.. We are constantly shamed about our history. We are constantly persecuted as drivers, more cameras for absolutely everything over here.. And immigration is a complete mess. We vote these idiots in to run the country on our behalf, but they then think they are more important than they actually are…and start making ridiculous decisions. Sigh…😔

We are still proud of our country and with good reason.
I'm proud to be English and British, however I am sick of the state of our once great nation. We cannot stop illegals coming from a safe country 26 miles away, our trains run at 80mph and are expensive and full or cancelled, prices are higher than elsewhere in Europe, authorities are favouring minorities over the majority, such as banning the use of the word 'mother' or letting men have time off work due to the menopause. It's absolutely disgusting. Victoria, Churchill and Shakespeare will be turning in their graves.

Lancaster and two Spits epic.
I was on top of one of the towers at Kenilworth castle and heard them coming from behind me and was gob smacked they flew over the top of me. Awesome.

These marvilous Aircrafs are every bit as grand as any modern day fighter or bomber . There's just SOMETHING about those P-51 Mustangs ! They have those American Muscle Car looks and top notch aerobatic ability - basically an airborne Sports Car and They're AWESOME !

Now imagine groups of hundreds at a time heading out towards the front especially at night all you hear is and feel is the loud hum in the sky and a rumble in your chest and you know some won't make it back that's hardcore

Sad to see the Hurricane demoted out of the battle of Britain memorial flight in favour of another spitfire.
The cheap Hurricane did all the heavy lifting in the Battle of Britain, but the Spitfire get the credit just because it is pretty and sounds glorious.
Without the Hurricane and the crew that flew them we would all be speaking German.
There are only a handful of airworthy hurricanes left compared to the spitfire and believe it or not repair and maintenance of a hurricane is more than it would be for a spitfire

2:30 gives an inkling of how it must have sounded during WW2
My dad was a flight engineer on B17 and such. Said the flight line for big missions was absolutely deafening. All those big engines with no mufflers!

This was the Duxford Battle Of Britain Airshow because me and my dad went on the Saturday
That's got to be the biggest collection of Merlin engines in one place since the war!!
With a few Griffons chucked in for good measure 😅

If people don't go and pay these events will simply stop and we are all the losers.
Mostly all UK shows are always sold out anyway.. and you can never buy a ticket on the gate on the day any more. Got fed up with losing my pre paid money a lot of times, due to weather or what not.
I never plan anything too far in advance and always like to just roll up on the day so..
Most folks like to go in one day and out the next

Imagine seeing them Bombers in groups, the noise should make you tremble
1:32 might as well be witnessing scrambles to intercept incoming enemy aircraft. Very electric. 2:19 is what the group would look like but, clawing for altitude. That force right there would do some annihilating.
Seen one flying over Lochinver in respect to a great man how lived in lichinver and. We Were All Prod of his Great work RESPECT.

The airshows was at duxford and the village is at the far end of the runway and it seems that there are get a much better display than the people who paid to go and watch

Ever since the P63 King Cobra/B17 collision in Texas I get very nervous when I see the big birds in formation with fighters
It's ok when they're in formation. The P63 had lost sight of the bomber.
