Thank you for this video. My baby has a liptie and nobody picked up that was why he can't latch properly. I tried everything in the book, pumping hurts my nipples even more than him biting my nipples. It has taken me almost 5 weeks to pick it up on my own, the consultants didnt pick it up on two occasions, not even the paediatrician. Finally I know what it is, luckily for us the one trained expert in our country in treating the problem is a family member. Getting him assessed in the morning and treated soon.
I feel your heartbreak! I remember being so emotionally deflated and discouraged while trying to nurse my twins. I started to research some of the latch issues we were having & probably the 3rd Lactation consultant we went to see (after trying everything else) she examined them and said they “might have some tongue or lip tie” so then I had our pediatrician examine them to which he reassured me they definitely DON’T have tongue or lip tie and suggested I go back to another LC. :-( that’s when I put my foot down and demanded a referral to an ear nose and throat Dr. Who promptly diagnosed them both with “obvious tongue and lip ties” each. So thankfully by 2 months we were exclusively nursing and it has a happy ending. But this is just a cautionary tale that some Dr.’s and even some LC’s are uneducated on this and that you are the best advocate for your children!💕
So happy you were able to have the problem fixed without a lot of pain. So happy for the both of you he is such a cute little fella I bet he has a big personality too. God Bless you both....❤️
I think they need to do more for the mother and child in the hospitals on things like this. It seems to be coming a common thing and the doctors didn’t know anything about it.
I was told my baby didn't have tongue tie, but I'm having the same issues as this woman. I'm going to take him to a pediatrician to see if this could be the issue. Thanks for such an informative video!!
My two-week baby is going through the same problem. He can't latch/breastfeed at all. He takes milk from bottle with difficulty. Whenever mother tries to breastfeed 🤱, he doesn't want to , wants to go away, can't suck milk from breast, cries... As a result, he isn't gaining weight. I am from Nepal. Where did you treat your baby? Any short term /long term side effects?
We have a very colicy baby ... we are investigating into cows milk intolerence and silent reflux but have heard tounge ties can be the cause of it all as well. He latched quite well when breastfeeding and can stick his tongue past his mouth. Hes just insanely gassy and upset 24 hours a day. Constantly screaming its beyond just colic. Now 12 weeks old.

You are a dummie.. you had a family member that is a expert yet you asked lactation nurse, or pediatrician what was wrong with your baby?...

I can so relate! I am going through the exact same thing right now. Going to see a lactation consultant in a week.

I am so sorry, poor baby, God bless you sweet baby!
I am 65 years old and was born tongue tied and still am! I do have certain small issues, but I have been able to compensate for it!

He is so cute, sorry you had to go thru that, and I am happy that everything worked out for you and baby.
