  • The El Mouradi Club Kantaoui in Tunisia was a hotel that my wife and I stayed at on March 8th 2015 for 1 week all Inclusive.
    Why post a video?
No matter where I travel to in the world, when I read negative reviews on Trip Advisor, it makes me cringe. Some people just don't appreciate new surroundings, new cultures or exploring new tastes. I certainly do and that's why I wanted to post this video to show you what this lovely hotel in Tunisia looks like.
The staff all work incredibly hard but always remain happy and willing to help. The food in the huge restaurant was incredible too with a wide variety of international cuisine that would satisfy even the most timid palate.
In high season this hotel has a 1400 capacity and you can tell by the vast pool areas with hundreds of sun loungers, two bars near the two pools and a lovely sandy beach a mere 300 or so metres away down a floral arched walkway. Pool towels are available for free next to the Langoustine Restaurant and also sun-lounger toppers for around 2 dinar (60p or so per day)
There's a convenient shop near the main pool area too for all those handy things you forgot to take with you. The entertainment team really do work their socks off to keep you amused while you soak up the Tunisian sun. If you see Jimmy, a pony-tailed entertainment rep, tell him Big Hans said hello. He's a legend and funny too!
On the same level as the main pools, there's The Langoustine Restaurant where you can have lunch from 1pm - 4.00pm and near the pool terrace area, fresh crepes with chocolate sauce from 4.00pm - 5.00pm. For those that are still hungry after 9.00pm when the main restaurant closes, The Langoustine Restaurant makes 9" stone-baked pizzas, which are to die for, right up to midnight as well.
When you arrive at the hotel El Mouradi Cub Kantoui, the main doors lead straight into the hotel's main thoroughfare. Reception desk, on-site bureau de change, with a cash point right next to it and the main hotel bar, all on the same level.
We arrived around 9.00pm on a Sunday evening and after we checked in, the concierge had take our cases to our room, 404. This was on the ground level with a lovely view in the morning when the sun came up.
Near the main restaurant entrance, as well as the reception area, marble steps will lead you downstairs to the Bar Dauphine. This bar opens from 5.00pm until midnight and for any smokers reading this, Yipee, you can smoke there. British tobacco or even the Shisha type stuff.
Clean and a very relaxing atmosphere, everywhere throughout the hotel, we were really impressed. On the same level as the Bar Dauphine, a few metres away is the indoor pool and jacuzzi, open from 8.00am until 6.00pm, as well as a place for all those women that love to be pampered with a massage; a fascial, hot stone treatments and the like.
Heading back upstairs to the main bar, you can get a beautiful coffee and sit out on the sun terrace overlooking the pools, and soak up some rays!
Breakfast in the main restaurant is served from 6.00am until 9.00am but I'm almost sure you can get in at 5.00am, although we didn't have a need to. Lunch is from 1.00 until 4.00pm and dinner from 6.00pm until 9.00pm (It may be 7.00pm for dinner, can't quite remember).
Ok. there may be no Danish bacon or Richmond sausages for breakfast, but so what? You're in Tunisia not the Greasy Spoon in Skegness! If you can't at least try the food, and there's lots of wonderful dishes to choose from, don't go! If you are really fussy, the chef makes fresh omelettes right in front of you and if you want anything else in it, bring it over to him on a plate from the food area; cheese, meat, tomatoes, onions etc.
Lunchtime and dinner time in the main restaurant is beautiful too. On one of the days throughout our 1 week stay, they had dressed salmon on a platter with a whole array of freshly cooked seafood. There was even sliced roast beef, roast potatoes, lots of lovely fresh vegetables, curries, pastas, bolognese, Tunisian, chicken, veal, lamb and even chips! If you can find something to eat... you've really never lived!
If you are still peckish before midnight, don't forget the Langoustine Restaurant for stone-baked pizzas. They're absolutely beautiful!
In the bureau de Change, next to the hotel reception area, £1.00 was equivalent to 2.96 dinar. In effect, 1 dinar is around 33p or so.
A local taxi from outside the Hotel entrance to The Marina at Port El Kantaoui was only 5 dinar (around £1.65). There, you can walk around the picturesque marina, have a coffee, a drink; get your duty frees or take an excursion by boat or catamaran. At the marina you will also see the musical water fountain, but this is best viewed from 6.00pm where the beautiful lighting gives the whole feel and sound a real romantic ambience.
Although our 1 week all inclusive stay at the Hotel El Mouradi Club Kantaoui was short, we both loved it so much!

Fantastic Hotel. The service from the staff was excellent. The hotel was one of the cleanest I've stayed in. Plenty of choice of Food which was Wonderful, especially the pancakes with chocolate sauce, near the pool area between 4 and 5.
