I just recently retired from the US Army. I've been researching VanLife for 6 years now. Preparing for this moment. My retirement. I'm ready to begin my adventure beginning with purchase of my van. I've been sketching blueprints since 2006. I always knew what type of van I wanted from the interior architecture & design, to decor & colors. I don't think I'll stick to the original plan of purchase and send to manufacturers for build. I'm too anxious now to wait. I'm ready to get out and LIVE!! So, I'll purchase, and build as I go!! Thank you for your #Vanlife. You've inspired me.

I have been watching a lot of Van Life on U Tube. It seems like it is a lot of struggle and hard work to live this lifestyle.especially for a older person.

Run the water until it spits air in the shower and sink. My water pump is installed upsidedown so I also loosen the wing nuts to drain anything left in there. Also, find out from battleborn if you need to do anything. Some lithium batteries can’t take the cold. Sorry to see u go! ❤
We put RV antifreeze in the sink, shower and toilet

Indeed...your message resignates w/me...I am starting my car life journey on Jan 12th...I tried a month ago and got overwhelmed but now I'm in a better spot financially so I'm glad what happened...happened. Heading from Phoenix to Palm Springs for the 1st time! (Even got a 3 day, 2 night complimentary stay at a KOA to listen to their spiel lol...lined up quite perfectly! LET MY ADVENTURE BEGIN!
I have a feeling you'll thrive at whatever you put your hand to next. I wish you well, and a successful new chapter in life. For the past 32 years, friends and family have questioned why I've moved around so much. I'm an artist, and need inspiration and stimulation. Staying in one place for a few years, and not being able to paint walls, boots me. Living in a new place is exciting at first, until the wrong kinds of neighbors move in. This hcas been a year of ending negative relationships with a few family members, as well as friendships and stagnant acquaintance situations that didn't serve me. My peace, faith and relationship with God are everything.
I got pregnant with my first baby this year which meant I gave up van life. Ngl the stress of van life was really a burden. I've gone back to camping trips instead of full time on the road. I'm in the UK where people are a lot less tolerant of vanlifers so it was a constant struggle to be stealth. USA looks more doable.
