Wow, dream layout. 62 year old me is getting nostalgic for my old Scalextric and Strombecker sets from yesteryear.

It's a great track for sure! Huge though, footprint is about 7x3 meters

love this track..i just built a Dino and looking for post build chassis tuning ideas. So far I added spacers to the guide and glued the tires....looking for adding weight ideas and wheel colletes,,im using the tube spacers right now...

Awesome to hear! These cars are fantastic 💯 For chassis tuning I'd recommend: glue and truing the tyres, using axle stops to replace of tube in front axle, glue rear bushing into place to restrict the bushing wobble. As for weight, a little tungsten puddy or lead weights for your Driving preference...I don't like to add weight in mine. The tyres get super tacky and any rubber treatment will eventually bog on the motor and fry the little 16k. Hope this helps!

Those are fantastic looking cars that work great - not one single deslot! Were there any magnets involved?
Absolutely gorgeous track and good commentary too!

Thanks! Oh there definitely were some deslots throughout the day but the cars do perform very well! No magnets in the cars and track braid is non magnetic so no motor effect either. I've glued my drivers head back on a couple times 🤣

@@GoldCountrySRA Well, unless you did some snazzy editing it appeared to me that there was some nice driving and fun competition with lengthy stretches of slot time. Did any of the cars receive some detailing like weight distribution or special tires? I love racing “vintage” classes like this even if I’m battling for 2nd to last place! The cars are so fun to watch and don’t induce headaches like the hyper fast classes. Post some more when you get a chance!

@bryandickerson5365 Haha that was just one of 7 heat races but, yes, these cars are competitive and usually less than 5 laps between first and last place. The cars are what we call 'Spec'. We do allow ballast, usually tungsten, but I didn't find it beneficial so no weight in my cars. Axle stops would help the front end. Stock tyres trued and glued and try to glue those rear bushings in if needed. Fairly simple track prep.
Agreed that close, tight racing is the most enjoyable. Will be sure to get a video posted, we just raced these again 🏁

I wonder why you say historic in your titles? I dont think playing with toys is historic to grown people? But I may be wrong?

Astute...all the cars are F1/GP cars from before 1960. The videos with these cars are part of our "Historic" class, John.
