      There are only a few words I cam think of that have silent consonants. Most the time it's a B that's silent "doubt" "bomb" "dumb" sometimes its a k that's silent. "Knight" "know" "knife"
      I wanna say the reason these consonants are muted is because of the nasal consonants next to them (N) and (M) at least for bomb dumb knife and know I can't think of an example of an english word where you'd ever pronounce a hard K sound and an N or M

    Great video! Can a consonant blend occur in two separate syllables? If not, then what will be the terminology? For example, the word "content" (con-tent). The letters "nte" are part of two different syllables. In that case, is it still considered a consonant cluster (consonant blend)? If not, then what is the terminology?

    Hi tanya,great work
    I want to ask you about "blood" and "zoom" pronunciation sound .....i mean why in zoom "oo" pronun long "u" and in blood there is no long "u" sound?why is that

    • @learnwithears
      @learnwithears  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      'oo' can make a long 'oo' or a short 'u' sound. (often before 'd' and 'k')
      Unfortunately, there are no hard-and-fast rules for the pronunciation of “oo”, so you will just have to remember the correct variants.
      The rules do not always apply!!!
      Thanks for watching!
