This is a compilation of all the cutscenes in the game along with dialogues. I include subtitles in this as i made a mistake of not including it last time. I do miss a couple dialogues with Mudokons that were injured in Level 4 and a couple other times when enemies shoot you while talking to them. Sorry about that. Enjoy the video!

52:42 This scene is probably the most intense and the most heartbreaking in the game. Abe breaks down, not from the pain of the branding which was probably unbearable but from the pain of all the atrocities that were committed on his kind. He now knows the full extent of the crimes that his people have faced throughout history, and it's more horrific than any physical pain that he, and like anyone else, has felt before. You can hear it in his voice. "Why would they? How could they?"
I hope he will get some rest from all this , his adventures were so hard and painful

From what I've read, he's not just witnessing the memories of what has happened to Mudokons but also what Mudokons have done in the past. There's implications throughout the lore that Mudokons used their mind control telepathy to oppress the other species of Oddworld and his reactions of "how could they?" could also be in response to that.
@@georgetazberik6834 that is likely. If I remember correctly, the glukkons and mudokons used to be allied races. Mudokons excelled in the arts, mathematics, science, politics, spirituality, and warfare. On one day, the mysterious moon with a mudokons hand print, somehow arrived, and the mudokons took this as a symbol of their supremacy as the chosen race.
For this reason, and any other that lead up to it, the glukkons renounced their alliance to the mudokons, and dwelled in the sciences, in the age of alchemy, refusing to look anything the moon, and doing everything in spite of the mudokons.
For this reason, it can be assumed that the mudokons were guilty of some sort of crime that would force the glukkons to become so bitter towards them.
@@georgetazberik6834 That's a valid suggestion. They also declared that they were the 'chosen race' because a moon with a crater in the shape of their hands appeared in the sky...even if it was too big not to be a coincidence, that's still a pretty bold and arrogant move for them to have made.
Easily some of the greatest animation I've ever seen in a video game. Regardless of the fact that these creatures are completely alien you can understand and see their emotions and feelings through their facial features. You can literally tell the thinking and feelings of a character through the changes in facial expression, I cant believe I've never seen this game before. The developers of this game deserve respect...
lets hope for more games in the future which gives us more stories about Oddworld like strangers wrath and Munch's oddysee.
I mean, they did a really great job and I agree it's one of the best animations I've seen in a video game. It also conveys a feeling of strangeness.
However, the creatures depicted feel strange precisely because they aren't completely alien. They are very similar to humans. It's some kind of uncanny valley of alienness.
Even more respect because they could have just used the old models (which despite being made around 1990-something were still very good, and barely needed an upgrade in 2017), yet they didn't.

The Soulstorm Brew is said to inspire unusual, delirious loyalty to slave masters, right? The Mudokons Abe frees constantly speak highly of him. And they're constantly drinking the Brew.
I think what the Glukkons hadn't considered is that the loyalty effect applies not just to them, but to anyone who the affected see as a leader or someone to follow or obey. The Brew is why the Mudokons so readily follow Abe. It's why he has to find his voice; because when the Brew is cured and they stop drinking it, they won't follow him so readily anymore.
Interesting idea! It never crossed my mind. Poor fellows; if they follow their savior, not because they want to be free, but simply because they are under substances, I sympathize with them even more.
Abe was a legend that caused him to be revered by his fellow Mudokons. The brew was pretty much Adderall that gave deathly withdrawals. Oddworld is just a satire on private ownership, high employee performance and corrupt wage labor. Life was exactly like this for the past 200 years which is slightly getting better.
@@danrothman6129 Sure but what gets me more is that if Mudokons haven't been drinking Brew for a while, they start to get a lot less appreciative of Abe (before the withdrawal hits anyway).

Molluck's face in the bad ending is honestly terrifying.
Less scary is that throwing out his slig and piloting the blimp himself probably means he was butt-naked the whole time after it cuts to black.

if you play close attention to molluk even he thinks the magog cartel is crazy and creepy kind of odd considering they have massed a huge amount of power
I'll admit I'm not an Oddworld Fan but this is an interesting world I'll admit. I quite like how when Mudokon's are panicked or excited they blink with both eyes. But when they're relaxed they blink one eye before blinking with the other in a slightly slowly blink. Also quite like how they distinguish Abe not just with his skin and voice but with his face and eyes as well. I wouldn't play this game as it would be too frustrating for me but I'll gladly watch others play.
As someone who needed years with the invincibility cheat on the original, I understand.
But I'm still gonna play it, because apparently my relation with this franchise is sado-masochist.
Dunno if anyone else caught this but check out 7:11 when the Shaman starts speaking in a strange tongue. This guy made it so that every Glukk that heard about RuptureFarms would assume the worst about Mollok (sp?) instead of taking the possible threat seriously.

Abe is such a tragic character but I love him so much. I was probably 2 or 3 when Oddysee came out. Grew up with the games so agh. The fact he’s aloof sometimes, gentle, usually is oblivious so some things, can sometimes be unsure of himself but still goes out of his way to save his entire race even though his own state of mind is at risk most the time, not to mention his life; he’s easily one of my favorite protagonists in games. Poor Mudoken is gonna have PTSD when he gets finally to rest.
Even The Creator said the original 2nd and 3rd is Rushed Games, so Soulstorm is the True 2nd Game
Fr played this game on windows Vista and 98 we changed computers this was back in 2004 I also loved crazy drake that was a absolute favorite of mine omg we had a disc that had like 100 games on it it had Tetris pool card games a game like Galactica omg it was awesome

Sam is on drugs because of depression, she stitched Abe's mouth shut so he wouldn't be killed because all he done as a baby was cry, I really don't think she was a motive other than she has no choice

I just noticed something in the good ending; Abe says that their mother is in Nolybab, which spelt backward is Babylon as in the ancient Babylonian empire. More foreshadowing to come it seems, and they are really going all out this time!
Also note the Magog bankers mentioned in passing, in 15:10 gog and magog is mentioned as a force of chaos and evil in several Abrahamic legends they really wrote this out well.

That level of pain must be indescribable.
“Pain” is barely the half of it. Abe is seeing the history of his people play out from beginning to end; the triumphs, the tragedies, the great moments and the most horrible atrocities. Most of all, he’s seeing how the Glukkons betrayed the Mudokons, how they went from loyal friends to monstrous slave drivers who cared so little for the Mudokons that they’d sell their flesh for profit.

This time he doesn’t have to deal with the pain of leading an entire civilisation rebelling himself in past instalments , he has the support of Toby and Alf to support him In this endeavours

Not a fan of platform games but I like the lores, stories, characters, and cutscenes of Oddworld. It feels you understand the excruciating pain of the main character that he faced with lies and deception.
Am guessing the next installment is going to find “Sam” the queen and free her

I can still remember the first game of oddworld as if it was yesterday, its good to see them again with such an awesome remastered game
Technically this isn't exactly a remaster...more of a reimagining of Exodus...or remake. Depends what you think. Haha
Considering the events play out differently to Exodus did... Still awesome and I'm glad we got to see the story Lanning wanted to tell without time constraints and a much bigger budget. :)
@@atteranenforcer5263 It would be a remake if they kept it more or less the same to how the original was. But since the story has changed and from this point on we're are diverging into a completely new continuity, it's safe to say that Soulstorm is a reboot of the series.
This is an updated and revised version of the original video. It includes some dialogue from the gameplay moments that add to the story and the entire final sequence. And that's gonna be the final video for Oddworld SS. I think I've pretty much done everything in it that I wanted to. Time to move onto new games! Thanks for watching!

I like Abe...but I really miss Stranger. I hope he can cameo in some future games.
Some people theorized that, with the new and more connected storyline, Stranger may or may not appear within the new quintology alongside Abe.

What I don't get, is why the Gluks are quick to blame one of their own, rather than acknowledge that maybe, just MAYBE, one of the Mudokons rediscovered their old powers.

and expecting Glukkons to be greedy, too greedy for their own good.
Their overinflated egos probably contributed to that. Edit: maybe something to do with the curse the shaman put on the Glukks, since their spirituality seems to carry considerable weight.
Actually at 7:09 the elder curses molluks testimony, so the other Gluks wouldn't believe him.
That's because they don't want to admit the brew's failure and the possibility of Mudokons being even somewhat rebellious and having free will
And also not to cause panic among the civilian population, if there is any
Imagine the panic and the chaos when it's going to be massively known that Mudokons, basically slave labor, want to rebel?
The Magog Cartel don’t want other Gluks to even consider the possibility of a Mudokon being capable of rebelling.

Funny thing you mention movies: 1999, Oddworld Inhabitants, the developers of this game, actually released a short film based on the story of Abe’s Exxodus! Sadly, it didn’t win; I thought that it was very good, myself!
I hope to see the cutscene of Molluck dropping his pilot off at the brewery added to this, if possible. It seems to be missing in every single one of these compilations people have made that include subtitles. Your original one has it, but there´s no subtitles in that one. 😰 Sorry if this sounds demanding..

We need a game were we play as a slig. Its time their digits apear on the moon.
They’re industrialists. Only the paw prints of a Native species can appear on one of the moons, and the Sligs aren’t even native to the _surface,_ let alone Mudos.
Oddworld Inhabitants wanted to make a short game called SligStorm where you play as a slig, but it's been implicitly cancelled.

I feel like even though they're obviously evil and sadistic the sligs are clueless slaves to the glukkons too, and they just dont know any better... Abe's Oddysee is canon, that's why Molluck's on the run considering this takes place after he destroyed RuptureFarms.
I'm not sure what we'll get for Munch, but the next game's either going to be a rewrite of that, something about the Mudokon Queen Sam or a combination of the two.
Watching the ending to this... does this mean that Munch's Oddysee is also getting a remake?

Makes sense they've faded a little bit... They are referred to as scars in Odyssey and those do fade after a while of healing.

These cut scenes are world class. So happy I got the game early and managed to avoid spoilers until I beat it myself.

Does anyone else find this odd phenomena where it's easier to empathise with these characters because it sounds like they are constantly sick? I get that it was to make them sound more alien, and they don't technically have noses, but it helps with relaying the effects of their situation.

Yo it's me again :-) so glad you posted this with the addition of some of the fighting scenes in the dialogue it runs a lot smoother I like the second ending though much better than the first is there going to be another game after this do you think the second ending led me to that conclusion

Am I the only one curious why the one Mudokon in the game has a skin of the same bluish-gray hue as Abe's (the one who brought the pendant and the map)? Kind of like, it was believed that this is the distinctive color of the Chosen One. In my opinion this is suspicious. :)
Mudokons are able to change their skin colour, according to their emotional state, for example, blue means that the Mudokon is sad and depressed
And if it is so for Abe, then no wonder he is blue all the time, the dude basically had a bouquet of PTSDs at that point
But there is also a mention of him being that way because he is sad about the fate of his people
@@artemismoore4176 Yes, this was official version, but I'm not sure if it remained so after they removed those Mudokons who had mood swings due to brew (red and blue ones) from this version of Exoddus. Also in the artbook I saw version that Abe's skin color is natural (what's with all other green Mudokons then, I don't know).

Hoy, Rubhen. I don't think there's a "worst" in this game. The newspaper that explains about the brewery explosion is all part of the bad ending, and the scene where Abe was able to change into his Shrykull form is part of the path for the good ending. Just thought of stating that as it kinda bugged me as I viewed it's time bar. Plus, as I watched through this vid, you forgot to add the scene where Molluck drops off his Slig at the brewery.

Forgive my correction, but you missed a cutscene. There was one where Mulluk decided to use his pilot to spy on the other Glukkons when he was "discussing" it with him. Maybe it was forgotten, but I thought it would be a nice heads up at least. Again, sorry for my correction.
Weird. I included all the cutscenes that showed up as I played. I didn't remove anything as far as I'm aware. Only time I missed something was in the full walkthrough

@@Rubhen925 I only noticed because I was wanting to understand what the Slig said during the cutscenes when he was being lowered to the brewery. When I didn't see the cutscene, I knew something was off.

I figured that yesterday when I said the name and imagined the spelling. This game has some references to Biblical stories and figures so yep yep 👍🏼
I'm actually disappointed. I've been waiting for this game for ages, but it felt pretty clunky and had really frustrating moments (even worse than Bonwerkz finale in Exoddus). The story feels like an introduction rather than standalone story, leaving more questions than answers
Men I'm so glad to find your comment, all I see is people saying they want a movie from this, or how emotional when he gets the marks... Nobody talks about how bad this game is, how buggie, how it throws away the OG games style and even deviates from New'n'Tasty. Worst of all this deletes Exoddus from the cannon and it means it will never never get the NnT remake threatment. We went from Mudokons having their eyes sawed to keep them blind while they dig the bones of their ancestors to them wearing security helmets, uniforms and operating heavy machinery... It doesn't feel like the same world and the brew being just addictive is far less impressive than being addictive AND being made from your ancestors bones which you were enslaved to dig. Even the scene where he gets the mark and everyone loves so much... Nothing happens, we never learn what he did and in the end the mom twist feels like bait for a game who knows if we'll ever see. All they had to do was remade Exoddus, this is just a shitty game.

What’s so funny, and who is that voice?
@@shannonbateswillis5022 Its funny because there was a huge incident, killing thousands of employees at a processing company. You would expect a CEO to sound professional and articulate as he makes an account of the situation towards the public. But the CEO was so baffled and caught off guard by the incident as he found out the cause of devastation. The disaster was the soul cause of one employee who's name was Abe.
So when the CEO had to come forward and report the incident on the news, it made him sound incredibly trivial and shady as he pointed out the real cause of the devastation. The report came off incredibly farfetched that no one in society believed him, So this caused the CEO to panic and go into hiding from the authorities.
The CEO pretty much incriminated himself. LOL
