I think they went on to develop Monkey 2 and X instead of Blitz. There were a lot of issues with Blitz compared to other engines and they couldn't keep up. Here's more info: Mark Sibly (github.com/blitz-research) and here's a link to their projects: blitzresearch.itch.io/ Looks like they stopped developing things past Monkey X
@@animatrontv1664 "terrible game engines like Unity", wow lmao. i bet you're the type of guy to tell people "yeah i listen to an indie band. you've probably never heard of them before."
@@animatrontv1664 it's clear that you have absolutely no idea as to what game development actually entails, and you're purely a hobbyist with primal knowledge. my opinion aside, i'm curious to see what game(s) you've developed, since you're so capable and such an advanced programmer, that requires engine source access to accomplish your tasks.
It's just so disorientating to see. You go from the equivalent of Doom 2 for the first game, Then suddenly jump to DOOM Eternal for Containment Breach Or, maybe something more accurate would be the Quake engine, With the first game being Quake and the last game being Cry of Fear.
The problem of course is, that once old game engines become less relevant, their potential will less likely be fullfilled, same with SCP:CB that game is relatively modern built ontop an old game engine like blitz3d whhich was mostly used to make very old games. for example, compare the game Quake engine, which was the base for GoldSrc (hl1 engine) and what is possible to make of it. Cry of fear is a relatively new game on the goldsrc engine, while that engine is even older than blitz3d.
