Hey just giving you a tip because it seems English isn’t your first language; instead of saying “enjoyed” the correct word you should use is “pleased”.
Agreed. As someone who watched Austin in his peak, this match felt a bit painful and bittersweet for me. However, it did showcase Austin rather well, especially all things considered. I'm certainly glad the younger WWE Universe got to see him perform. I only wish he could've pulled out a little more of what made him so great in years past. Still give him major props for this and the utmost respect for KO being able to guide the match and make it one for the fans' bucket lists. Just shows how well Austin understands the business and even moreso how epic KO is at giving the fans what they want, especially when he's the heel.
One great thing about this was that Owens lost to a guy in his late fifties who hadn’t wrestled in 20 years, but you dont think any less of him for it. The fact that Stone Cold never overstayed his welcome in the ring, working years until his body fell apart, it actually protected his mystique. Also, wrestling a non-traditional match and that Stone Cold could take some serious bumps helped, too.
The best thing about this entire match is there was NO EXPECTATION there was going to be a long form match...and basically, it was Attitude Era level entertainment. Figured they would ruin this somehow, but after what KO and Stone Cold accomplished here...the rewatchability of this match is superb. Great send off for Stone Cold.
I was watchng the documenrary on A & E for this match. Austin had said that when he last wrestled in 2003, felt relief at first but that ultimately he retired earlier than he would have liked because physically he was not in a good place. Man the way they orchestrated this fight was absolutely perfect you can absolutely tell if this was a regular in ring match it would’ve showed how physically limited stone cold was running but having them have a no holds barred match was perfect as they executed basically walking all over the stadium just fighting it out which perfectly complimented stone cold fighting style at his age 👏🏽
I love seeing old guys come back and just take that one big bump. Makes WM worth it. They really built this match well and Stone Cold showcased his mind for the business. Even being physically limited, he knew exactly how to put on an entertaining match with an eager and willing opponent.

It’s a combination of both, I would say. Age does take its toll on the body, and Steve Austin isn’t someone like The Rock who’s somehow jacked as hell at the age of 50 (not to say he doesn’t still have muscle, but statistically speaking, The Rock remains on a whole other level)
@@mrsoisauce9017stone cold is always number 1 in popular wrestler the pop he gets is unmatched
@@andrewwright4195 I'm talking in terms of muscle and muscle mass, not popularity. I'm not huge into wrestling (yet), but The Rock is visibly a much bigger guy than most wrestlers. Those are just the facts
@@mrsoisauce9017after rocky left to go make movies he got heavy into bodybuilding thats why(probably a bit of substances as well but can only speculate on that)
when KO retires this should be his favorite work bro made stone cold look so amazing in this match and made stone cold look like stone cold one last time
22:04 the moment he realized I still got it.
Even the ref was pumped up when he had them start match.
One of the best matches of Kevin Owens & Stone Cold's carrier ❤
Ko just done the two biggest things in WWE at the same time
1:Being the final opponent of Stone Cold
2:Do it on the main event of WM
The KO Show in Night 1
***Career, not carrier
A promo and a match at the same time is historical😊
Lol what?? For stone cold?? How dumb?
Husbands hugging wives. elderly crying. kids jumping up and down. WWE UNIVERSE 😌 this match had it all
lol the laugh Corey graves gives when STONE COLD rakes Kevin Owens eyes on the stage at 27:58 " perfectly legal" 😂
The fact that Stone Cold made this officially his last match makes this more special and for Kevin Owens
The G.O.A.T Steve Austin the best to ever do it man. Fah that was some nostalgia right there.
22:44 and stone cold has 77899 *FRIENDS* in this audience 😂
"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He is a living WWE Legend 👑👏
Fr
I was there live.....it was otherworldly....
The first thing I noticed was....."UHHHH...HE'S GOT HIS KNEE BRACES ON....."
Thanks TH-cam for putting three ads in stonecolds entrance alone. Can't even watch for three minutes without y'all trying to make money off it
It's gotten RIDICULOUS
Thank You SMH
That sumbitch in charge of the ads deserves a damn stunner
If you pay a monthly deal those adds go away
youtube adblocker for the win
To goldberg :- this is how an 50+ year old wrestles, even if he wins he make the opponent looks like he's worthy to wrestle him instead of using finishers on repeat! Props to Stone cold Doing that and giving us again one of the best moments of wrestling at Grand daddy of them all
Shut your mouth. Goldberg has had good matches. Mark.
@@keeganhurley119 yeah only till 2003 after his return in 2017 only squash matches had happened in which he squashed Owens ziggler the fiend and gave worst match with Undertaker I Like him as a wrestler one of the most powerful wrestlers he used to be in his wcw time but these squash matches Started by him and lesner
I respect your opinion alot both of yours. With Goldberg I believe the reason is he beat alot of opponents in a 5 minute space. He was wowed for his beadt like nature of squashing most of his opponents and I I think it was 173 0 at one stage of his career which is incredible. Stine cold is his own beadt and done things his way. No way you can compare them as two completely different characters. 😀
@@Syed_Soban_Ali the undertaker has stated multiple times. It was both sides that caused the match to be what it was. He doesn’t blame Bill at all. Rough day at the office. Along with holding him in high regards.
@@Syed_Soban_Ali he also had the great match in Saudi with Lashley. He put Reigns and McIntyre over clean. Not to mention told McIntyre he deserved it and raised his arm in the air after their match.
i was born in 2002 so i never got to see Austin wrestle live on TV so i am very thankful i got to see one of the all time greats wrestle at least 1 time on live TV. thank you steve!
And the last time you will
This no holds barred Match is a Slobberkocker
Why did I hear Jim Ross voice there? 😂
I....forgot how good this match was, what's impressive is he hasn't wrestled in 19 years, he damn sure still got it!
It's awful lol
@@flackjacket3ditsnope that's your opinion
@flackjacket3dits Were you expecting a 5 star match? Lol Austin hadn't wrestled in 19 years, and he has neck issues. cmon, 😅 for what it was, it was a pretty good match.
Final match at the same stadium he debut in. How good!!
Same city. Not stadium
@@Oasisftwwit’s in the stadium
34:57 what a moment ❤
😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮😊😅😮
I would destroy my vocal cords if Steve Austin stuns the Rock at WM 40.
That would be surreal
An epitome like wrestlemania 40 should have the two goats involved in some shape rather then these new gen guys who suck 😂
Austin as the face and Rock as the heel as it always was
🪦
⚰️
Missed opportunity.
@@azku Austin Main evented 2 years ago, his body was probably so beat up after that match, that he didn't want to get back in the ring again 😂
We might see him through 2024 when The Rock returns again
Heel Rock and Face Austin like it always was
Took me back to when i was teenager seeing Stone Cold again
Props to KO for the performance. He made Stone Cold look like a superhero.
THIS is how you bring a legend back and preserve their legacy by making them look strong. Austin didn’t have to do this for us, but he did. And props to Owens for making Steve look good.
I was there I remember being surprised this became a match me and my girlfriend thought it was just going to be a segment but when we heard that first bell we were so happy we were witnessing stone cold wrestle in our hometown no less definitely a better wrestlemania than the one we had before this one even to this day i feel underwhelmed by that one
20yrs later and still the greatest to ever do it.
Can tell once Stone Cold took the first bump on the contract he was like Hmm I guess I can still go"😊
You didn’t quite copy paste the comment brother
nothing like the pop when the glass shatters
You can see KO struggling to keep his excitement and stay in character as he's issuing the challenge to Stone Cold, you actually see his demeanor return to his usual cocky self once he got those lines out.
Also mad props to Austin for actually putting in the work to put on a proper match , nostalgia hit hard seeing those classic Stone Cold spots.
no one in wrestling business will ever have a louder pop than Stone Cold Steve Austin...
Cm punk
@@Roronakinghell no💀
Absolutely not dude lol. CM Punk gets pops but theyre NOWHERE near Austin's @Roronaking
Only two I can think of - Matt/Jeff Hardy and Edge upon their returns to Wrestlemania

I'm with ya except I'd replace Dwayne Johnson with Ric Flair, otherwise that's a solid list.
Lol goldberg and orton are overrated af and so is lesnar, hhh, rock and michaels to an extent.
Some modern wrestlers like punk is def near cena tier or at least used to be
That's my top 5 in the same order 😅. Randy Orton, Batista, Goldberg, Brock, and Kurt Angle, my last 5
THIS is the match type i love. This match had everything. Every side of the stage was used. Great performers. Big names. Great entry, great ending, great celebration, great audience! BESTEST MATCH I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME
Kevin Owens being escorted out the stadium always makes me smile like a little kid. Goofy pro wrestling I love it so much when it’s like this.😂
That pop was insane and Austin was just so cool about it
I remember thinking how big of a disaster this match might be but for 57 years old with 20 years of ring rust Austin moved pretty damn well, still throws some mean punches, and can still bump. incredible
17:16. The bell rings and Stone Cold Steve Austin competes in his first match in 19 years.
29:23. Corey stumbled on the perfect marketing campaign for Broken Skull IPA.
29:52. STUNNER BY KEVIN OWENS!!!!!
31:02. STONE COLD STUNNER!!!!!
We haven’t seen stone cold in action in years in wwe
@@SB-vv4mu WrestleMania 19 was his last one before this. Putting over The Rock. Exactly 19 WrestleMania’s later, Austin returned. They asked him how he felt after the match; If he had any trouble with the Spinal Stenosis; He said he felt great. He said that he’s not gonna go chasing another match. But, if Triple H called him up and said: “I’m in a bind here. I’m trying to get so and so and they’re not moving off their price. Would you work a match against so and so”. He said that, Yes, he would do it.
3:16
Everytime I hear stone cold breaking glass i got goosebumps 😢😢😢😢😢
you can actually see the kid in KO when that bell rung, he did a good job holding it in, his body language was like omg im wrestling my idol, dont mark Kevin, don't mark out 😂😂😂😂
Austin 3:16 all day . Texas legends never die . Legend of wrestlemania ❤
“STONE COLD!! STONE COLD!! FOR GOD SAKES, STONE COLD IS BACK!!”

WE ALL CAN AGREE. IF STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN REALLY WANTED TO, HE COULD CREATE A NEW ERA. WE ALL CAN AGREE STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN STILL GOTS IT STILL AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.
this was a one time only match he did. He aint ever coming back to WWE. Especially since his good friend Vince McMahon no longer owns it
from watching this man wrestle when i was a kid, to now brings my heart such joy! The world LOVES Stone Cold
I am so glad they showing all the old WrestleMania matches brings back a whole lot of good memories
Despite being old and out of shape, he did a lot more than rocky
GOAT
Out of shape?
I got so drunk watching this live that I didn't remember it and had to watch it again sober the next day lol
You can see the difference between the attitude era and whatever they are doing in WWE today
You can say that again, with the likes of dom
i miss hardcore matches.
For real but thats not WWE's fault though, times just change
29:40 - 29:51 Stone Cold realizing he can't down those beers like he used to anymore. 🤣
Lmao good eye😅
I paid a decent amount of money to watch this live and I am literally in this video. This clip doesn't do it justice. It was a sustained roar when his music hit. "Stone Cold is the greatest WWF super star of all time I've never been wrong." -Ric Flair
Kevin Owens is definitely a very talented worker, well done.
Steve Austin simply G.O.A.T 🐐
Steve Austin's first match after 19 years!
What ?
Doesn’t matter what you say about KO.. mans main evented back to back WMs on Night 1, Stunner vs Stunner WM38 and winning the tag championship with his best friend Sami WM39 💯🤷🏽♂️🔥
This is 2022…you can give me The Rock, you can give me The Undertaker, you can give me Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, John Cena, Kurt Angle and you can certainly give me any of the jabronis wrestling on the regular roster now….nobody even comes close to this type of energy when that glass shatters. And you get that every single time for 20 plus years. I mean just look at the heat KO is able to garner just by talking some smack to him. You almost never see heat like that…especially this day and age. It’s like a 50/50 split who likes who. There was not a soul in that building that wanted KO to win lol. This man is THE GOAT.
On a side note, KO was great in this confrontation.
Shoot almost 30 years soon
Props to KO for protecting Austin during this match
Getting to be there live and in person for this is something I’ll never forget absolutely one of the best moments of my life!!
