    This is the most detailed review of the Spring I’ve come across - you’ve really covered every little detail! 😆 For everyday errands and running around town it seems great, but for occasional road trips or long drives, the range would make me a bit nervous, a larger battery pack on the next version of this car I would seriously consider it .

      Thanks for the comment! I'm looking forward to driving it in the new year and even taking it on longer journeys!

    I live part of the month in Poland and part in UK. I currently have a previous 45 Hp Dacia Spring in Poland for 2.5 years now. Very impressed, never felt it was slow. So impressed I have ordered 2 x new 2024 versions for UK and for Poland in extreme trim Safari beige. previously Had Kia Eniro on 4 year lease and 2 x BMW 535 Touring.

      I think I might go electric but I’m not sure on the colours. The only one I like is the safari beige but patner saying it’s poo 💩 brown. 😢😮 idk

    This is a wonderful car which in the UK will sell at about £15k. It shows you just how much you do not need even though it does have useful tech. Journos will probably call it a city car, but it also works for a low mileage country case and especially as first car for youf. The weight below 1,000kg is an interesting detail, and daily home charging will make the 26 kwh battery work for many use cases. This deserves to sell well.

      @@PaulMeier-cu3ds it's obviously important to point out the low range and slow charging, but not to downrate it for that reason. It is a car for people who do 20 miles a day and might do one long trip every year (and is that inconvenience acceptable for such a small price? I would think so). It could be a primary car for many people and a second car for almost everyone. I expect there will be some risk of badge snobbery, but more fool them.

      I really agree. The badge just does not matter and the 20 miles is the reality. The other point is if you need a car once or twice a year to do something you do only occasionally, then just rent it. You pay for use when you need it without all the depreciation, finance, and tied up capital. Do we really need a “premium” car on the driveway?

      I do not have direct experience, but perhaps all the more reason not to spend too much more on badge snobbery. Without wishing to get political, are you able to buy the car in the North?

    Great review. A coast to coast would make an interesting watch notwithstanding that it's a city car.

    Great review Derek. Price will be a huge deciding factor for most potential customers but you do get a lot of safety tech. The display car in the second last segment 25:17 had roof rails which imo make the car look taller and better do you know are they an optional extra and load rated ? Looking forward to you getting it to test on Irish country roads and city driving.

    So its an Electric version of the older Citroen C1. What you don't need it hasn’t got, less expensive to buy, cheaper to own. Oh... and the new Spring is FASTER than the petrol engine C1 / Aygo 0-30 mph. Its bigger than the C1, better equipped and I bet it doesn;t leak water into it like the C1 does!
    AT LAST, a car worthy to replace my current C1 which we've owned from brand new. We only do 3 or 5 miles a day so I'll have to charge this vehicle once every two weeks IN WINTER on the cheaper overnight EV rate at home. Hold on... I can tell the Spring to defrost itself without me in it??? That'll please the neighbours, as I had to idle for 5 minutes at 5am every winter morning.
    A proper handbrake, proper AC buttons, a proper key, fuel economy thats almost double of most ev's. Regen braking.....
    The perfect second car.

      As far as I know, the new Dacia spring only has the connectivity pack on the high end trim here where I live in. On the older model (that I own) it has this feature, and I can start the climate control from my phone app. The only trick is that you have to set the air con settings before leaving the car, since it is only manual controlled.

    It's a fine car. Price will make or break it compared to the other choices likely to be available. Range is a little less than others but acceptable for the likely price. Attractive to buy as is now. And for such an economical car it does not suffer from rear window wiper shortage. Hmmmm interesting ;-) .

    Even at 15,000 GBP, I am not paying that for a slow speed, 72 mile-range shopping trolley. Put a 70kWh LFPO4 battery in it, a motor that gives it a top speed of 110-120 mph and 0-62 in 10 secs or better, for the same price and I might.

    Not a fan of the white inside, should have just the bronze or no extra colour. Impressed at level of tech. Price needs to be under opposition citreon, byd, hyundai etc. Will the euro safety rating match opposition? Range good for a segment.
    Sales show it will be popular.
    Thanks

    When you can lease a Corsa e for less, this makes little sense.

    • @JonathanMorris777
      @JonathanMorris777 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Leasing prices are insanely high now but probably because they're already selling well and why not milk early adopters? I am sure the price will come down quickly (plus the Corsa E leasing deals are exceptional right now)

    • @ISuperTed
      @ISuperTed 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s because no one wants the Corsa e, so they have to massively discount it at a huge loss to shift them. If they sold them for £20-25k in the first place they wouldn’t have to.
