    Great video on matching Square transactions. Could you make a video on how to create a “clearance account” for square transactions as well as how to create the corresponding journal entries that you mentioned. Thank you for sharing your xpertise with us.

    Hey Claudia, I've been reading the reviews on "Connect to Square" on the QBO website. Overwhelmingly, the new app is poorly rated and people hate the change. You seem to have found the Niche on TH-cam posting videos specifically about Square. For someone like myself getting up to speed on Square, have you thought about a video that compares Sync to Square app vs Connect to Square app and the major changes comparing the two. It seems from the reviews that people are frustrated on how the app operates but some just love it. Just a thought. Thank you for your videos on Square.

    Hey Claudia, with the recent updates from Square, does the integration automatically create the accounts like Square Bank or Square Fees in COA, or do you have to set them up manually? I missed that in your videos if you covered it. Thank you!!!!!

    • @ClaudiaXperts
      @ClaudiaXperts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Glen, no more Square bank on the new update. Cash transaction go into Undeposited Funds and credit card transaction will go into the bank. There are accounts that will go into Square Banking if they were connected with Square before the update.

      Thank you! Not sure what your next video topic will be but a overview of what COA accounts are needed with Square would be helpful. Such as fees move to Square Fee, income will flow to Square Income, Square bank will operate like a clearing account, and so on. And where in QBO or Square are the accounts assigned to correctly receive such transactional flow. Here are your 5-6 accounts you must have in COA to properly process Square transactions. Your videos are greatly appreciated and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to reply to your viewers!!

    Hi Ms. Claudia, I'm reaching out to you again. My Square-Mobile transactions in the Banking/App Transactions tab are being categorized to Miscellaneous (according to the Category or Match column heading). When I click on a transaction to view the details, it shows "Square Item" under Sales details. In the Accounting/Chart of Accounts for Square Item it shows it is an Income account, but does not show how it is categorized. Do you know why my transactions are being categorized to Miscellaneous and how do I correct it so it is going to the right account and what should it be? I'm assuming a mixture of Sales, square fees, taxes, etc. Thank you for your help!

      Your products and services for Square item is probably routed to miscellaneous income. Go to products and services, click on Square item look at the income and verify if it is routed to miscellaneous account if so change it to the right income account t.

      @@ClaudiaXperts Thanks for the quick response! I looked at an older transaction and clicked on "More" at the bottom of the screen and then "Transaction Journal" which shows that the transaction was going to Undeposited funds as a credit, and Bank Chgs: Sq Fees as a debit and the deposit into checking as a debit. This was before the Square update happened this past year. Does Square or QBO provide the mapping of the transactions? How do I get each transaction/deposit to split out into the correct accounts/categories? Does it just automatically come from Square with the correct info? Oriana it is hard to tell what is going on without looking in your books. Are the transactions coming through the app? Then are you adding the app transactions? Are the amounts in the app transaction the same as what hit your bank?

    • @ClaudiaXperts
      @ClaudiaXperts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Remember that Square transactions will not match if you don’t add them first in the app tab. But prior to adding the transaction from the app make sure that when it hits the bank it is the exact amount. If you are adding the transactions there is also a possibility that when you add then it goes to undeposited funds.
