Scott, you are right, sir. Why are quality TV shows of this kind so very rare? Think about all the silly shows that have sprung from the "creative geniuses" of Hollywood. Most are utter rubbish... Even Quinn Martin's later projects, while OK, never measured up to this show. The Fugitive is a lonely giant of a TV show.
@@charlesbrown9213 Quinn Martin was a great producer of great shows you're right about some of his later achievements The Streets of San Francisco was fair,, Cannon was ok but Barnaby Jones with Buddy Ebsen was terrific 👍
I agree it was way before my time but I'm a big fan of the original Fugitive. I used to have it on DVD. Every episode was fantastic. The movie was okay but it can't compare with the original.
The music is timeless and takes you back to the 60s as you can picture and feel the movement of Richard Kimble running, hiding, heart racing as LT. Philip Gerard pursues.
Fantastic!! The greatest show I have ever seen. And I wasn't even born yet when this show came out. I grew up in the 80s. We had Magnum PI, A Team, Knight Rider and many more. But The Fugitive is way better. The Goat 🐐 show. Legendary!!
This music in a almost hypnotic way makes you feel like Richard Kimble on the run. The small town dinners, the storefronts, the locals and of course the police.
For four years, the world stopped at 10:00 pm Eastern time, to pray that Richard Kimble would evade capture 1 more week. In that final episode when he walked down those courtroom steps I cried like a small child. That is the impact this epic story had on me .I was 20
I agree, music was so fantastic and the show incredible. RIP Mr. Janssen. you are missed. Nice mix done. one of the best if not the best. thanks for sharing.
I always liked the Fugitive ending theme, especially with the end credits over the artwork of Kimble (in silhouette) walking down the rather abstract train tracks.
Nice to have the music on its own. I used to sneak out of my bedroom to watch the show from the hallway until my parents realized I really liked the show. Got to visit one of the filming sites where he worked for a circus I think. It was a real place in Westlake, CA where you could see wild animals up close. Years later I met David Janssen when he was filming "Harry O" at Warner Brothers. I was too shy to do anything except say hi and shake hands.
@@AbrasiousProductions That's great. I've been to the circus location in Thousand Oaks. Also to Pacific Ocean Park, where he catches up with the one-armed man. Sadly both places gone now.
Thanks and yes it was outstanding! So much so I attempted to get a doc of sorts in 1990. Met Roy Huggins at The old Musso & Franks on Hollywood blvd met with David’s mother on many occasion Bernice ( class act ) as we’re they all. Didn’t get to meet personally with Pete Rugulo but we spoke on the phone. Super cool people. Super cool piece of work from them all.
Trouble is that Silva America CD is the only official release of Rugolo’s own music library of music he was commissioned to compose for the series. But much of what’s on the CD wasn’t pulled by music editors John Elizalde and Ken Wilhoit to score the episodes, and loads of Rugolo music heard on the show is not on the CD-nor could it fit and still yield CD quality sound. Hopefully, some day La La Land or Intrada will issue of boxed set for room to contain all my favorite Rugolo tracks.
como sufria con el pobre doctor y como odiaba al manco y el teniente no sabia si odiarlo o entenderlo . cuando al final de la serie se arreglo todo , llore !!!
Sessions were definitely different back then... full orchestra ... that's how John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith were able to hone in their skills for movies...
if it makes you feel any better I'm 20 and I'm against wokeness too, I'm also a big fan of this show so not all of the youth is doomed, just most of it.
THE GREATEST TELEVISION DRAMA SERIES OF ALL TIME PERIOD !!!!!
@@westbatman66 I have the entire 120 episode collection, the 2nd season music is horrible, but everything else is really good!!!!!

The sound track has 60's written all over it.Brings back memories.
Movie Quality Soundtrack , another reason why “ The Fugitive “ was such a big hit .
No not the movie, the television series ! The best drama series of all time !!!!!
@@scottmiller6495 Of course I meant the series had a movie quality soundtrack . Actually The Movie just had adequate sound cues
@@westbatman66 Yeh you're right what an awful shame!

And Quinn Martin
Don't forget Barry Morse.
top five theme. excellent series. impossible to make today.
Believe it or not they actually made a reboot show last year or maybe two years ago. I haven't seen it but it looked terrible.
I applaud this theme music.
I always liked the Fugitive ending theme, especially with the end credits over the artwork of Kimble (in silhouette) walking down the rather abstract train tracks.
Me too!
I love track #2...Sad, wistful, longing for truth and freedom..
My favorite TV show of all time and one of my favorite pieces of music...THANKS

lucky.. I'm 20 years old and I didn't discover the fugitive until I was 18, I fell in love with Janssen and I've become quite the fan of him.
@@AbrasiousProductions I also got to work restoring the entire series for home video. Fun to revisit the show and that time period.

The flute is my favorite part of the sound track.
Once again, going through the entire series on DVD. The music is just simply superb. Very glad to find this video. Thanks!
Luv it...still now...the opening song gives me get up and go,,,,,and sometimes I feel like a fugitive!
I discovered the show this month and I'm so glad I did, this is the 60s equivalent to breaking bad💕
Starting at 5;28 is my favorite music that played when Kimble was just about to get caught.
I could not agree more!!!
Awesome soundtrack!
It just doesn't get better than this.
"A Quinn Martin production!" Loved it!
Best actor and series and music!!
GREAT!!! Thank You so Much!!!

BUT we all know that it will not happen unless fans email these labels to make the boxed set happen. Don't be lazy and do it now!
"The Invaders"; in color.
I love the fugltlve awesome music drama a fan of dive jasson
Love that 😂
Que tristesa y nostalgia al escuchar este tema de fondo .lo veia de niño.
Outstanding series and theme!!
A distinctive sound profile, not like any other series since. Part of what made the show appealing, and oddly sad, a "downer."
All written by the late great Peter Rugulo😢
