Please, habs had no business making it past round one last year, if that wasn't painfully clear after this year's performance I dunno what to say to you.
Been watching this team over 60 years now, I had NO illusions of them winning this series. In the biggest games, you need your best players to BE your best players, and the Leaf's best players go invisible in the biggest games. Happened 2 years ago to Columbus, last year to Montreal, and this year again to Tampa. Too many prima donna players and not enough grit players = NO killer instinct and year after year of disappointment. Not going to change anytime soon as long as Dubas and Shannahan are at the helm.
Having a good defensive corps would've helped when the guns go silent. Unfortauntely, Dubas thinks he can reinvent hockey with a top-heavy team. You're not Brad Pitt, Dubas.
Fortunately for my Canucks, Patrik Allvin is a much smarter man than Kyle Dubas is, and he's decided to fire literally everyone who was still employed in the org and replace them with better staff. Analytics, scouting, even strengthening and conditioning have all been gutted. Dubas' approach of overpaying his superstars and completely neglecting his depth charts has ultimately failed.
I don't know , some grit would be great, but I thought we did great. One lucky goal could have turned the series. To go and crap on all that is built right now would be a big mistake I think. Maybe down the road it's time to rethink but we just lost to 2 back to back champs. They are probably going to win it again this year.
I’m gonna assume this is just the 60 years of watching that have finally got to you, but you couldn’t be more wrong. The core stepped up, they played great.

I feel the winner of this series will make it all the way to the final. GG Toronto, still room to grow but taking the back to back Cup champions to a game 7 that was a one-goal game is very impressive.
I wonder where that one goal went. Surely it didn't get called off cause one of Tampa's player skated into someone right ? How brutal would that be for a game 7 ending
@@borrow4654 If that is how you saw the play, they you are part of the karma that will keep the Leafs as the most pathetic franchise in pro sports
I think this series took a lot of toll on Tampa including an injury to Point. Add to the fact that the Panthers had a way easier time with the Capitals. I’d give the edge to Florida.
@@charlisantini3403 Lol it is what is it. I get that refs cant call everything and they sure are good at missing calls when it matters most...but they call that. Champions bend, they don't break. Two great offensive teams, but as I said from the outset of the series, the team that knows how to play strong DEFENSE will ultimately win. On the road. Impressive. Observe the strong backcheck of the Bolts in that 3rd, clearing pucks, strong on the boards, blocking shots, winning battles. Vasi = money. That's what wins in May. That 3rd period was why the Bolts are champs and the Leafs are a "good hockey team."
Well said
Helps when the refs don't call much against your team either, while I agree with everything you've said, all this series boiled down to was the refs being the difference makers.
@@paulthompson8793 Sorry bud, but that was a penalty on boll....they had 6 games before that to not have a game 7. Officiating needs to be better in general, but if it was all the refs fault bolts would have swept, right?
Leaf's actually never fell for that Tampa counterattack all series. Well other then a occasional breakdown like that 3 on 1 in this game, so that was impressive. Tampa just clogs the middle of the ice like nobody else though so you are spot on about their defensive game, and as you said that's how you win cups.
@@anthonyfaccaro7118 You say that, but why wasn't it called later in the 3rd when Tampa did it right back to the Leafs? exact same play, refs just don't call it on the bolts. Who is back after the Leafs advanced?
I am
Been watching this team over 60 years now, I had NO illusions of them winning this series. In the biggest games, you need your best players to BE your best players, and the Leaf's best players go invisible in the biggest games. Happened 2 years ago to Columbus, last year to Montreal, and this year again to Tampa. Too many prima donna players and not enough grit players = NO killer instinct and year after year of disappointment. Not going to change anytime soon as long as Dubas and Shannahan are at the helm.
Clean house and everyone is available for trade.......1967.
