I built your dumb robot idea.

  • Some of your robot ideas are really smart, most of them are not. I spent about a week making this mug, that grips you. Yep, that’s the idea, it’s a mug, that recognises when a person touches it, and grips that person. That’s the idea, this was your idea, you people liked the comment, this is on you.
    Summers coming up, so expect an onslaught of videos, and I need more robot ideas for them, also, im going to try make a robot that uses a large language model, like that one viewer suggested, I have no idea if I can do that, wish me luck :D

    I especially like the part where every time you go to take a sip you risk getting soaked and electrocuted, truly one of the ideas of all time.

    I'll give you a selection from notebook 11 that suits your skillset. How about 3d printed truss hubs for popsicle sticks/cardboard tubes, linkage/tension articulated stilts, a syringe tooth matrix pneumatic adaptive vise, or chaos pendulum googly eyes?

    Brilliant idea! The number of times I've almost knocked a mug onto the floor, or spilled tea on my desk while watching a movie in the dark and reaching for a sip; it would be great if the mug reaches for you, instead of you reaching for the mug. Turning the light on just to see the mug spoils the mood. I might be taking this thing a bit too seriously though 🙂

    Cool build, but wasnt the bottom finger supposed to move too? You never mentioned it being broken or anything, but you showed a close up of the motor at the bottom of the cup, twice, and the bottom finger moving...so i was kinda confused? It just looks weird with one curled and the other straight out, meaning you have to hold it weird. Id love to see you refine this project and possibly make it mobile i.e. all the electronics in the base of the mug (a bigger diameter mug would give you plenty of room to mount the board and battery)

    • @Robotcus
      @Robotcus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, in that final one it didnt respond, why, I think the current threshold was met instantly? The motors soemtimes draw a lot of current instantly, which can mess up teh detection, I would normally just refilm it when that sorta stuff happens, but I had my dissertation due the next day lol :D - Ill defo look into it :D

    Great video as always!
    You can really notice you tuned the music just right and got everything good with the audio!
    Editing as always is really good, getting even better in every video, loved the format of buildings ideas from the comments.
    Videography is great, it has some sort of goofiness that's on purpose in my opinion that makes it a lot better and a lot more entertaining to watch, for example how you jiggle the camera from the top to film the project, it gives it a certain charm that I like.
    A key point that's really minor but it may only affect me because I do engineering too is that if you think it's worth it maybe tidying up the circuit a bit will be more photogenic but that's really minor and doesn't have a noticable effect.
    Congratulations on 1K subs!!!
    Remember, I'm here from before 1K, when you reach 1M I'll be sure to remember that.

    • @Robotcus
      @Robotcus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      heheh, thank for watching and commenting as always ;) - I 100% agree on the circuit point, my counter argument is I have no idea how to make a PCB, I know its fairly simple, but im for some reason really lazy with learning the skill
