Lol...mom of 2 and my daughter's where talking to me and my husband and they are not VSCO girls and don't want to be, but my younger daughter. 10, kept mentioning that her friend is a VSCO girl and since I had heard the term several times before from various sources I decided to take the leap and ask something I need to know as a good parent, but don't necessarily care about as an individual and said "what is a visco girl?".....then I was told about the several scrunchies on the arm and the shorts and long T shirts that cover said shorts and my 14 YO chimed in "you know, they always have a hydroflask with them" in a tone of annoyance and mild come on mom don't you know this....and then I said "No honey. I don't know" and I was like, "We wore scrunchies all the time in the 90s...I thought they came back a couple years ago, but then went out again. Are they back?"...and then I had to know how long the shorts are because shorts should be longer than a basic LG T shirt for tweens and teens walking around town IMO and by this point they were just all kinds of annoyed with me and my husband thought the whole concept was stupid and I was intenally like..."Let me look this business up so I know what the hell my children are talking about when discussing VSCO friend stuff or whatever" and so here I am. It's simple. It's the 90s birkenstock/scrunchie trend with bug T shirts and Vans thrown in with some current "woke" business while being aware and making it known hydration is important. Ok. Vasco...as I heard it sounded like some nefarious sub group of some sort, but hey, it seems ok. Lol. Worse things kids could be interested in than the environment and drinking plenty of water. Terrible shame about the Birkenstocks and crocks though😕...was glad to see Birkenstocks be gone, I hoped forever, after the mid 90s...I remember a few Greatful Dead and Phish shows where I stuck out like a sore thumb because I refused to wear those things, lol...more of a dainty, strappy block heels and Doc Martens kind of girl myself back then, but whatever. My girls are in to skateboarding though, along with other interests like other sports and artistic expressions of various styles and mediums. The skating culture comes with it's own set of social awareness ideas and styles. You know. My son, who's 20 now was just a mellow artistic kid who cycles as his sport with no phases of trend following or any of that, so even though my girls are very individualistic in their styles and ideas (as I and raising them to be inspired to look beyond the systems we live in and are offered everyday...you know letting them know they can think for themselves and break molds and boundaries, in healthy ways of course, to live their best and most fulfilling life!)...the truth is girls are different. We are just more high maintenance generally speaking, lol. It's wonderful your girl is so interested in the environment! I think the VSCO thing seems fun and still like scrunchies, but way past scrunchie age now, lol. Glad the girls today get to enjoy them too😊...

Thank goodness my daughter has a dress code in school and so we've avoiding the sandals, shorts, and oversized tees (for the moment). Currently, she has limited her VSCO commitment to scrunchies, bead bracelets and necklaces, of course her hydro flask. On the positive side she hasn't adopted the lingo (sksksksk, oops, etc), ban on straws, or overblown environmentalism and she's taken up bullet journaling and setting personal goals! On the whole I'm supportive of her exploration into this trend, it sure beats the semi-goth trend she was into previous to this. I don't recall being this self-aware at 10, I just wanted to ride my bike and play with my friends! Times they are a changin' and as a single dad that means I have to change with them...
