    Thanks for the video. I have the same motor (2018) and had no codes or stored codes but I used your diag process and determined my injector #1 was bad. Ordered a new very expensive injector. 🤞it works. Also suprised your injector failed at such low hours. Under 300 hours is quite low runtime for an outboad. A normal life cycle for an outboard would be anywhere between 4000-8000 hours depending on conditions and maintenance.

      Glad it was helpful, I believe that during the year of my motors manufacture (2007) there were reported to be a bad batch of injectors produced but who knows?

      @@abakerslife I will say that unless you live in Canada/USA/ or western Europe. There is no point in owning an Evinrude. I'm in mexico and parts and technicians don't exist. Once I finally get this motor running properly it will be going for sale to buy a Japanese brand.

    Hi, my wires on the top was worn in the same place too. I ended up repairing it with some hot glue!

      Good idea, I will do that too. I don't think that it was causing my problem though. I think the injector itself is at fault.

    Great video. Im having trouble getting my cable/software to communicate. Sure ive downloaded right. Set the fdti driver which shows as being the active one but still getting nothing. What driver did you use? When i short connectors bootloop test shows 60.60 but not when plugged in to emm. Sometimes get a couple in the received. A real pain. 2007 75 by the way

      Hi, I'm really sorry but I'm not the guy to ask I'm afraid. My level of understanding is very basic and luckily for me mine worked right out of the box. Have you seen the Barnacle Bill forum/site? I'm sure you could find help there.

    Nice video, thanks for sharing. Could you provide a link to the particular diagnostic kit you bought please. (Theres a few out there and some of the look well dodgy 😊) and was it a download, or did you have a laptop with a cd rom drive?

      Thanks, I'm afraid I can't remember where I got it, probably ebay but I do remember that it might have come from a Polish seller and was indeed a bit dodgy. You have to download the software and run it as a virtual machine on your laptop which is a bit of a pain to setup. It does work though and it's been worth buying.

    Hi. I have fixed at Etec and also used the diagnostic SW. But my seams older than yours. Did you have to buy the SW or? Would you share it?
    My engine worked as a perfekt when i managed to fix it in the end of last season. I am about to take it out it now, shall raise the engine one hole and hope it runs just as great this season. Wish me luck :)

      The software came with the bootstrap cable. I would not mind sharing it. It turned out that I needed a new fuel injector which I had to order from the USA. It still hasn't arrived so sadly I am unable to use my boat at the moment 😢

      @@abakerslife I thought it was only bad connection. My had some sloppy cable work from factory. One cable to injector had come crushed between the injector and the topp...

      @@7ann3 I thought the same had happened to mine but sadly not. I have made another video of removing and testing the failed injector which I will post when the new part arrives. I love my etec too but since Evinrude have stopped making outboards it is very difficult to get spare parts now.

      @@abakerslife I put my boat in the water the other day. I am so happy. The motor runs like a dream. And this was a very unchure buy when i bought it so i did not pay much. Have learned a lot fixing this one. Like the high pressure pump is not able to by as a seperate part but to Johnsson Ficht it is and it is the same pump. Just another kabel connector. Stuff like that i found out. It runns so silnt, smooth so i could not be happier. I bought it for 1000 dollar, bought parts for 500 and now it runs :) Just need another propp. I am a ex mercury owner. Is Viper for evinrude like Laser2 for merc? Have at 19" SS propp now. Dont know the brand. It looks like a viper but it is black painted original? Get nearly 40knot at 5000rpam. Would like higher rpm for more power. Think a 17" performance propp would do the trick?

      @@7ann3 That's great news about your engine. You paid similar money to me for it which makes it a great buy. I know very little about props I'm afraid but hopefully someone else might chime in with more information. 40 knts at 5000 revs sounds great to me, do you need more power?

    It seams like when something fails on a e-tec it is never cut and dry . Most of the time it will be a electrical component , the motor will run great on a hose or at dock ,but under load it will fail making it hard to find . I do like there diagnostic software . It is funny there are 20-30 year old 28hp and 48hp 88 hp johnson and evenrudes everywhere , you just can`t kill them , but I never see any e-tecs . parts are just too high if you can find them , the plastic cowls fall all apart , and noone wants to work on them .

      HI, I like the diagnostic software too. You are right about the parts issue though. My problem in the end turned out to be a bad injector and I've been off the water for a month waiting for a new one to get over here to the UK.

      I am no expert I'm afraid. Get the diagnostic software or take it to a dealer who has it. It will save you guessing blindly

    Hello.. The line coming to one injector of the 30 hp etech engine is not working. ecu is solid. There is a problem with the electrical installation. I wonder which cables should I look at? Can you please help?
