My cousin also went to that church for almost a year. He lied to us and told us he has a girlfriend who has her own place (he was studying at that time) so that's why he was scarce endlini. We kept on asking him to introduce us to the girlfriend but he gave us a run around then one day- in passing- he told us about his church that he goes to in town (Cape Town). When we prompted him to tell us more about his church he told us that he can't tell us more information as he has been sworn to secrecy. We were all very close endlini I guess that's why he blurted it out. 3-6 months down the line he told us that he stopped going there because they tried persuading him to hurting his family and how we did not wish him well in life. This was obviously a red flag for him because we all cared for him and he also cared about us. That is truly not a church but a cult.

Cults are real & anything that is contrary to the word of God is a cult, When God is the giver of life why would he instruct u to kill the baby ? that can only be a cult sis & people get serious deliverance from them. I love that you love church, and there’s nothing wrong with that, spend time reading the word & in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to the right church, He is faithful, He will 😃🙏🏾

The minute you said UCT and nice lady I could tell where this was going. I am 7 minutes into the video and this happened to me as well. So Zola, I am like Babalwa... similar experience and it happened to me at UJ, but the people had friends in UCT.

@@nokulungamthembu581 No. Like they teach things from the bible. But they brainwash people. They are full of secrets and lies. I never got to the church, I only attended the bible study, then what rescued me was the fact that they were now saying we should meet on sundays and go to their church (I wasn't comfortable with leaving my church). Also, they confessed that the people I attended "bible study" with were not new attendees but some were actually members of the church already, but only lying and pretending to be random people (they say it's good to lie for God). They read the parable of "the good samaritan" Luke 10:30-35
They then went on to explain that, I was the wounded person and the lady who pretended to be my friend and later introduced me to the bible study was the good samaritan. I was so shocked that all this time I was being lied to, but I pretended to be greatful. When I left the bible study premises I cried, I blocked all of their phone numbers. They tried calling with diferent numbers, I would hang up, until they ultimately gave up.
The oil and the wine are the "word" . They break parables down. Each word in the bible represents something. Wine, leaves, trees, branches, old wine skins, weeds, fish... all these words that you find in parables.
Stay away from such people who pretend to be your friends. Because in the process, you will have group discussions and you will feel like it's a safe space to share intimate experiences. The reason why people don't leave is because they feel cornered after sharing deep secrets about themselves.

Also the bible study lessons are recorded. 👀 so you can imagine how scared people get when they think of leaving.

I think they can pick up on people's vulnerabilities and for alot of people, it's seeking a deeper relationship with God or higher power then they exploit and manipulate that into something awful. Some people don't make it out before it ruins their lives forever so be proud of yourself that you trusted yourself enough to block them and run♥️

OMG!! I went through this experience eKapa! Their brainwashing is so subtle! They thrive on love-bombing and deception. I think they target you when you are going through some difficulties in your life and trying to find something more meaningful in an attempt to fill a void. As you say, it was a professional setting with very intellectual people. It was the darkest time of my life! I left when I was pressurized to evangelise. Its so funny everyone I tell reacts as Zola does here- our story is so unbelievable. I laugh at myself for falling into this cult...
