I used to have The Big Green and The Sandlot on VHS as a kid. The good ol' days.
The Big Green is still such a fun watch to this day. The theme song is so good
😗 🥁🎶
I still have both, on VHS. Great movies.
I loved the big green when I was a kid
The Sandlot was and still is my *shit!* such a fantastic movie.
DUDE a 5am drop of the episode... What did we do to deserve this treat?!?
Seriously I have so much windshield time ahead of me this morning with school starting back up after break....you are the absolute BEST Ryan! Thank you! This Momma is so grateful for you and all you do. 💚

Kirsten must have been up early today lol
Lol same here but I go night n weekends work during the AM .....GO GET IT 2024...
“You’re killing me Smalls!” Was my favourite quote of the 90s. Sandlot is an amazing movie!!
30 years later and I’m still saying that sht. 90’s was the best time to be a kid
@@Henofmayhem seriously. I’m so so so grateful to have the best of both worlds in terms of technology.
Remember dial up internet? I used to dial in, load Netscape, put an address into the url bar to check my email, go bake a sheet of cookies for 40m and come back to check if the first page had loaded yet 🤣 it usually hasn’t. Would take 8 hours to view 5 emails. would hate to have been a kid with the phones and iPads everywhere. I probably would’ve be a lot smarter with all the answers at my fingertips but who knows.
@@m0rtred what?

If Nostalgia was a person. Great ep. 🔥
Best comment! Patrick is absolutely nostalgia personified!

Patrick Fkin Renna. Huge part of all our childhoods. Comedic legend
The Big Green, and The Sandlot were two of my favorite movies as a kid. Can't even count how many times I've watched those movies.
My wife says you're killing me smalls to our six year old all the time. He finally retorted with "Your killing me bigs" proud moment in parenting.
W kid. W parents.
We need Sickler to get more old school stars on this
Nobody on this planet could replace this guy
Great guest. I still say “you’re killing me Smalls” like once a week
I say it constantly still.
Im bakin like a toasted cheeser
Lol I hear it, or say it, at least once a week at work. Welding and construction.
Immediately what I said when I saw the thumbnail! Born in 1993 that move was my favorite as a kid
@@m0rtred lmao looks like it now u mention it
The setup and execution of the question at like 46 minutes in was phenomenal. I do interviews for work occasionally and I straight up study Sickler's approach. He's a comedian and he's miles better at this than most journalists lol
I got to meet him and most of the rest of the Sand Lot crew at a Spurs game. They were in the bottom corridor just outside the locker room and I had to go flip a few switches. I am not allowed to communicate or initiate conversation down there but if someone speaks to me I am allowed to speak back. Patrick saw this and could tell I was dying to talk to them so he offered to take a pic with me and got the rest of the "Team" to be in it to. Dude is very nice a gracious and listened to me prattle on and geek out on them for about 10 minutes
That’s sick bro! Seems like an awesome guy
Ryan is one of the BEST people in podcasting at LETTING SOMEONE SPEAK without cutting them off. Respect.
at 40 years old, The Sandlot is still one of my favorite movies of all time. I have 4 kids of my own and I have made sure that each one of them has seen it because. I heard my 9 year old say "your killing me smalls!" a few weeks ago and i asked him if he knew where that was from, he said no, he saw it on a shirt at school. so that weekend we watched it for movie night the following Friday. I am a two dad for two of my four, nether one sees me as their dad, and that's perfectly fine. But they know that no matter what, I am here for them no matter what.
I'm 37, used to kiss the screen when Benny was on the scene with my softball girls sleepovers, just watched again with my own kids the other day for the hundredth time. Sandlot will always be an amazing memory for mem. Great great episode.
“I lost my smell”, literally spit my coffee 😂😂😂😂😂
The great hambino!
You throw like a girl
This was a very cool ep for me! I was an extra in The Sandlot, I was the kid falling off the picnic table when the beast is chasing Benny through the fair. So funny to hear he never got to meet James Earl Jones when I actually did. I've always been so grateful to the PA in charge of the kid extras for telling us kids who he really was, Darth Vader.
I saw a picture of them all standing together in his other short podcast. Maybe he didn’t talk with him.
When he talks about being recognized over the other cast mates and he turns and says I think you want a picture of all of us hits home for me because I did this very thing to a Detroit Red Wings player I ran into at a bar for a benefit, I went to offer a drink and take a picture, he passed on the drink and I went to go ask the guy next to him if he wouldnt mind taking a picture of us, and it was Dino Ciccirelli another famous Red Wing who was like "What you don't want a picture with me?" and my jaw hit the floor apologizing to him but he loved it and was laughing, I'm sure it happens quite often to anyone famous. But I'll never forget that one lol
Well, I learned that I have so many similarities to his childhood even to today. Great guest, great questions.
I grew up watching Patrick and even my children know who he is! He has always seemed like the most down to Earth guy and this episode didnt disappoint! Very awesome to catch up with him ❤
Love this episode, so unexpected. I bought Sandlot last Thanksgiving and showed it to my kids for the first time. They loved it and are watching it on repeat now, so nostalgic.
Genuine dude. Plus the nostalgia factor. Good stuff Ryan!
I legit thought the thumbnail was of Fortune.
Thank god I wasnt the only one!! 🤭
Patrick Renna....Awesome guest!!! loved it... Til this day the amount of times I say "You're killing me smalls" to some of my coworkers🤣🤣😂🤣
What a home run of a guest! No pun intended... happy Toozeday all.
I've seen almost everything he's in. He was a vampire on the x files and it was great.
41:19 part of why i love this podcast. Its genuine.
Yes! Real emotions. Gave me the chills.
I was NOT expecting this Sickler!!
“I lost my health insurance during Covid and that was rough.” “I lost my sense of smell during Covid, it still hasn’t come back yet.”😂😂😂
I swear to god he should sign to the Mets this off-season. We could use a catcher 😊
Ay, but that episode of X-Files where he's a Cosby-esque pizza delivery vampire... Man, good times.
Thank you so much sickler! This kicked butts!
Loved it baby!! Longball Porter I stole that nickname in little league 😂😂. Love how the end he was just like yeah...yeah. 😂😂
Sandlot has always been one of my favorites. Can't wait to listen to this!!!
Sickle Cell is truly truly providing amazing content, podcasts, fantastic stories, always funny, with a laugh that can't be beat!
No fuckin way Ryan!!! This was the fastest I've ever got on a video. Thanks for this man. It means a lot as a fan and even more personally. Made me so happy seeing this. Much love Ryan!! And you too Patrick!!
Humanizing actors from childhood in adulthood is a cool surprise I never expected that I would appreciate so much, thanks. Great episode
That went by real fast. Excellent episode. Love ya Sickler.
Incredible episode! Thanks guys.
Love you and have loved you for years, Ryan.
Glad you’re still alive and embarking on new ventures. King of everything.
Awesome interview guys!
Great guest Ryan. Hell yeah. Thank you brother.
Thank you for this!!
Great interview
Called off work, took an edible, saw this uploaded, day is made. Cheers
Watched The Big Green recently, he was the best part of the movie
Shit its snowing here im about to do the same😂 i watched the big green two weeks ago
Thanks Ham. I needed this today. Love you Honeydew. Shoutout Baltimore Hub Primary One Jo Ave
Patrick, I'm 41 now. You made a huge impact on my youth with the sandlot and son in law.
Quite literally effin AMAZING. I loved this episode!
Yess best way to start my 6:30 shift 😌
I’m on the west coast and up way too early. I might call out and watch this! 😂
When he’s talking about being recognized I had to laugh for a second because at first glance of the thumbnail I thought Fortune Feimster was the guest. 😂
Thanks for all of the content!
Absolute wonderful interview.
"Youre killing me smalls" My favorite shirt to wear.
awesome episode!
Ryan, I love hearing you talk about being a Dad. It's exactly what I'm hoping to do for my daughter.
Such a good point about how unforgiving the world is now. Makes me sad as well.
The great hambino!!! 🤌🏽🔥🔥🔥
I'm still in love with Tiffani Thiessen. I can't imagine what being on set with her every day as a teenage boy was like. 😆
you're killin me smalls
Son In Law is my first introduction to him
Boner city
Love this pod Ryan. Hope your health issues with your back and anything else continue to improve.
Just starting this (screwed up my viewing order) and immediately his story about how his parents handled the divorce is awesome. I'm in my 40s and still feel like I have to tip toe around mentioning my dad around my mom. My parents weren't even married. Long lasting hell.
After this episode I was randomly watching “Son in Law” and saw a familiar face. Great interview and thank you Patrick for sharing a bit about yourself and the industry! You always are “killin me smalls” ⚾️
My son is six. I cried when you told that story about the family losing the kid. Love you guys
Great pod! Thanks as always Ryan!
I didn't know the name, but the second I saw the thumbnail for the video I knew who it was. Never in a million years did I expect this mashup to happen. The SandLot is easily forever amongst the top 5 greatest baseball movies to ever be made. It's also one of the best movies to depict the ups and downs of being a kid and the challenges of life and growing up. Peer pressure, puberty, showing off and athleticism, playing against other teams, getting into trouble, planning schemes and coming up with dumb ideas to fix problems that could of easily been solved with a simple knock of the door. It also shows what time does to even the closest of friend groups, everyone going their separate ways, the only other film that comes close to capturing realism is Dazed and Confused.
Huge fan of Patrick's characters. My favorite movies growing up were the Big Green, Sandlot. Great ep!
Awesome episode!
Ryan, your ability to provide a container for these stories is fucking incredible man. Recently joined your patreon and I'm swimming in your content at the moment. What a beautiful, hilarious conversationalist. Thank you ❤
Im watching this in my office and to the left on the wall is a Sandlot poster. Iconic movie. Id like to know the residuals.
Everyone talks about The Sandlot. Which is great. My first memory of Patrick is from Son In Law
I grew up watching this guy and like led him. I play the sandlot for my son. This dude will have my support on what ever he endeavors in!
love the episode always got some great guests
You’re killing me smalls I wasn’t even thinking about molestation and then you just randomly say I’m not getting the lesson lol
Huge fan of him growing up! He was in amazing movies & shows.
Everyone talks about sandlot, but the Big Greeb was his favorite movie of mine, and I still watch it to this day
My twin brother and I were 13 when The Sandlot came out. We quoted it for years. I still call people 'Smalls' when I'm yelling at them. "Dammit Smalls"
Perfect way to start the day.
Cool guest 👏👏
Ryan - try taking the pedals off the bike and let her use her feet to propel and then lift them as she is going. Once they get used to that adding the pedals is so much easier. It worked great with both of my kids, one of which was higher strung and a perfectionist
Thank you Ryan! God dammit keep putting out these banger shows! Been a fan since you started the Honeydew and I can’t say I haven’t enjoyed anything you’ve done. I hope you read some of these comments. Love you brother!
"Your killin me smalls!!"
Thanks, Ryan.
This man taught me the S’more steps 😂❤
I knew EXACTLY who this is! One of the legends!!
18:40 awww I love how the seasoned actors took Patrick under his wing. Big brother Pauly Shore is a dream
Great episode fellas ❤❤❤❤
Salute your shorts!!! Best show when I was a kid and gives me goosebumps thinking about it! Happy to see you on the honeydew!
He wasn’t on salute your shorts
@@jasonmoser24 do some research or a quick Google before you comment something silly.
@@anthonyhernandez6325 no need clown. 5 second spot doesn’t mean your on a show. How About something he’s actually a main character in goober
If you read my comment I stated best show when I was kid. Never said best character on the show. You can apologize now like a man for being incorrect and saying he wasn't on it. Get your facts right.
Yes still watch The Sandlot whenever it's on television and all three of my kids love the movie
This guy never tweaked his P-ram and for that I'm grateful....I hope to see Patrick in a Tarentino flick/or anything ever! Guys a legend l.
My favorite scene from Son in Law was when dude kicked the box into his sisters dorm room! My vhs was worn out at the time.
Amazing and very unexpected episode! Loved it! Cheers!
Great pod
Im 35 and still quote sand lot and the big green😂 awesome guest
Ep started in background, and I thought you were chatting with Charlie Sheen 😮😂
