I have been loving! LOVING! the Turtles of Grayskull line. I am getting every single figure. This is the toy line of the year. But hearing a Thundercats/MOTU mash up! My God, I'm going to be so broke next year buying all these toys, Turtles of Grayskull, MOTO, and now Thundercats/MOTU! What a time to be a toy collector!
I'm happy to hear that Mattel is still committed to giving us the rest of the vintage line. Because only 2 reveals - Modulok and Rio Blast was kind of a bummer. Last year they previewed 4 vintage, and one beast/vehicle. I am curious if their commitment is to just the figures, because I don't think the beasts/vehicles typically sell that well?
He said "pretty much" the rest of the vintage line, so I won't be surprised if they leave out some of the bigger items. Feels like a real miss not to work in Fright Zone & Slime Pit into 2025- supposedly the year of She-Ra & the Horde. Oh, and more Snake Men because we didn't get enough in 2023-2024 apparently.

I could see them skip that weird Horde monster (not the Horde mount, but the other big late-in-the-line thing, can't remember the name at the moment.) The little accessory set packs would be nice but I could see those possibly being skipped too. I just hope they get around to this stuff before people start losing interest. More Snake Men is going to turn a lot of people off IMO.
There were problems with Two Bad (glitches as well as speed), but regular releases since the shift haven't been too bad. Hopefully future releases will be more like that.
The deluxe looking MOTU/TMNT characters like snake-Shredder, Rattlor, and Ninjor look amazing. I'm dreading them being WM exclusives though. Thundercats figures in Origins styling would be amazing. I realize they'll be MOTU-ified, but hopefully they'll also be passable as default Thundercats (maybe if overlays are removed). Mattel has really been killing it with Origins and Masterverse,
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I am highly suspicious of this Snake Lair. I dont think it actually won the fan vote, I think they posted a vote, botted themselves, and artificially made the Snake Lair win, so that they could mitigate fan reaction to not making the Fright Zone or Slime Pit next. Here's why, 1. We've never had either Horde Playset redone in any line, and the vintage Fright Zone is KNOWN for having a tree that 40 years later shatters like glass, and a hand puppet that rots. If they redid that playset, there are a lot of vintage collectors that would love stand ins for those items, as well as the fact that it ties in to She-Ra. That right there is A LOT of fans who'd want that, but on top of that, the Mattel team has REALLY been pushing the Snakemen, inventing all kinds of new and wacky ones that never existed before, which is fine. But to then ask the fans what playset they want next in a vote and it just so happens to line up with the direction they were pushing, AND the Ninja Turtles are now Snake themed, the whole thing stinks sus to me. Am I crazy? It's a cool playset, dont get me wrong, but I would much rather spend my money on a PoP Crystal Castle, or a vintage Fright Zone with PoP elements added to it, or even the Jungle Playset that eventually became Snake Mountain, than this Snake Lair.
I had the same thoughts. It's a very cool Snake castle though! Hopefully they come out with Fright Zone and Slime Pit, Crystal Castle next. AND A SWIFTWIND!
My friend in the 80s had the Fright Zone, and it's always been my favourite, and the set I most want to see remade. The hand-puppet aspect was a stroke of absolute *genius!*
The vintage-esque Fright Zone has been teased a few times already, so it might get a release eventually as an online retail unit, and not as a Mattel Creations exclusive! This Snake Lair however is a bit too much for what most people wanted! It's almost as massive as Eternia, and its price could be as high as well! Shelf space and money are tight these days especially in this high inflated economy, so I'm not too sure how it's gonna perform in a few weeks!?
To be honest, Mattel predict is going to continue the line until Gen X'ers either die, or fall away due to diminished capacity. There's too much money on the table. Adults are nostalgic, and they have bigger pockets. I wouldn't be shocked if we got a Thundercats crossover, or even Transformers. Either would sell quickly.
So much cool stuff! I really like Cartoon Collection Hordak, He looks so accurate to the Filmation Hordak. Wich I always liked more than the Vintage Figure. Well done Mattel 👍
Mattel, if you're reading this, please re-release King Hiss! He was super hard to find in the US to the point that Entertainment Earth cancelled my order and his price had already skyrocketed at that point. He needs another go!
Yeah, what happened? Most of the deluxes were easy to get. Either it was underproduced, the stock is sitting somewhere or there's reseller collusion or something.
On the other hand, we in Europe didn't have a chance to get Thunder Punch He-man. If someone is interested to change Thunder Punch He-man for King Hiss let me know. We need to help each other.
I like this Snake Lair more than the concept art but a) no way I could afford it, b) even if I could I don’t have room to display it and c) snakes give me the ick. 😅
Thundercats and MOTU! COOL! Maybe even a three-way with TMNT and MOTU and Thundercats! Hopefully the Thundercats characters will be like TMNT with inspriation brom both MOTU and Thundercats inspring each other.

I wasn't planning to get the Snake Lair because I hated the original artwork. But I love this new one & want to back it. But because I didn't plan on backing it, I didn't save up any money. August 5th is way too soon & I won't be able to get the money up with such short notice. Nice job Mattel! Nice job! 😟
That is awesome news-Masters of the Universe 2002 and the THundercats cartoon were two of THE best shows along with Avengers Earths mightiest Heroes and Spider-Man. Stoked about the 200x designs coming back and the intergration of the THundercats into the MOTU….they always seemed like they could exist in the same universe.

Why no body asks about the vintage vehicles (Battle Ram, Spydor, Attak Trak, Dragon Walker, Bashasaurus, Fright Fighter, etc.)? Night Stalker was the last attempt, and he was pretty much a repaint of Sridor!
Masterverse is bananas! Mattel is killing it on that front. So wild that Masterverse isn’t as popular, but I’m loving it. Same with Turtles of Grayskull!
All the figures look spectacular, my only complaint is seeing the words " Exclusive to WalMart" on the tags of many of them. This relationship Mattel has with Walmart is just exhausting, they're so bad with distribution and allowing folks more than 30 seconds to purchase them when they release. I'd much rather buy directly from Mattel. Due to this my collection will inevitably have holes because I refuse to pay the scalpers Walmart caters too. Thanks for the vid though, exciting stuff minus the one drawback.
I don’t know about the arm but that headband would look good on Origins Fisto alongside the 200X belt released in Classics just like the mask and 200X belt would also look good on Origins Jitsu!

I think he said "pretty much" the rest of the vintage line. I wouldn't count on it. Honestly, with the way it's headed, I think most people will have bailed on the line before they get around to everything from vintage.

I agree. We stopped seeing them in Canadian Stores a year ago, and Convention Vendors charge way too much. Unfortunately, shipping problens to Canada have prevented me from being able to order MOTU Origins

Ya know, I never pictured Fisto weilding a hammer. But now that I've seen it, I have to say it fits him better than a sword. Fisto and Ram Man are my boys, and I love the New Eternia Rammy. Mattel has also managed to do something I thought impossible. They've managed to make a Beast Man I want to pick up. I've never liked Beast Man, but this New Eternia Beast Man 2.0 actually looks pretty damn cool! The New Eternia Evil-Lyn looks stunning. I kinda hope we get a New Eternia Teela and a New Eternia She-Ra. The only thing that bugs me with Masterverse is.....still no Snake Men. I know Origins is full of them, but I only collect Masterverse. The Horde is slowly trickling into Masterverse, little by little, can't we get some Masterverse love for King Hiss and his boys please?
Dan hasn't got anything to worry about, I'm guessing a dozen guys online will be doing Prince Pixlor customs before the year is out, I'd do one myself if the quality of my work was better. The Skelecon is a welcome addition, I'm glad to see the Cartoon Collection is expanding, but that said I still would have liked to see a Cartoon Collection Randor, Marlena, Orko, Sorceress and Battle Cat before the She-Ra characters, one thing I was really hoping for that I'm sad we didn't get was a New Eternia Teela. 😕
The cartoon collection is shaping up to be everything I wanted, now if Mattel ends up giving the Thundercats the same treatment I might actually sell off all my classics/Super7 stuff.

They won’t, they’re both completely different lines, as stated previously vintage line now goes to Mattel creations.
Ya know, I never pictured Fisto weilding a hammer. But now that I've seen it, I have to say it fits him better than a sword. Fisto and Ram Man are my boys, and I love the New Eternia Rammy. Mattel has also managed to do something I thought impossible. They've managed to make a Beast Man I want to pick up. I've never liked Beast Man, but this New Eternia Beast Man 2.0 actually looks pretty damn cool! The New Eternia Evil-Lyn looks stunning. I kinda hope we get a New Eternia Teela and a New Eternia She-Ra. The only thing that bugs me with Masterverse is.....still no Snake Men. I know Origins is full of them, but I only collect Masterverse. The Horde is slowly trickling into Masterverse, little by little, can't we get some Masterverse love for King Hiss and his boys please?

Dan hasn't got anything to worry about, I'm guessing a dozen guys online will be doing Prince Pixlor customs before the year is out, I'd do one myself if the quality of my work was better. The Skelecon is a welcome addition, I'm glad to see the Cartoon Collection is expanding, but that said I still would have liked to see a Cartoon Collection Randor, Marlena, Orko, Sorceress and Battle Cat before the She-Ra characters, one thing I was really hoping for that I'm sad we didn't get was a New Eternia Teela. 😕
The cartoon collection is shaping up to be everything I wanted, now if Mattel ends up giving the Thundercats the same treatment I might actually sell off all my classics/Super7 stuff.
Dan, please ask WHY? haven't Mattel ever made a 200x sorceress, deep cut skelecons are fine and all, but she's a main character.
