Vedal and his Neuros are successful because they're pretty unique. Even a peabrain eventually gets the 'feel' for the way LLMs/AIs behave, and then it becomes almost impossible to ignore and that's where the real fatigue sets in real quick.
Even very very simple chatbots like Eliza from the stone age were popular, and then not. There is just something about them that adds fatigue, and if you haven't felt it, then you just haven't indulged enough.
There's just something about it, man...for real. Even if what comes out is unexpected, the peculiar way they work just shines through anyway.
@@dorklymorkly3290 I think Vedal himself is a big part of Neuro's success. Having the AI be created by one dude rather than a corporation makes the project much more enjoyable from the outset. He has to lobotomise Neuro a bit to avoid being hit by Twitch's banhammer and people accept that, but besides that the AI is for entertainment and not pushing a corporate agenda. She doesn't advertise and is apolitical. Vedal puts in a lot of effort to improve Neuro and viewers can see that over time, so things don't get stale, and it's fascinating to see her growth.
The other aspect is that Vedal himself is usually a part of the streams, playing the straight man to Neuro's insanity very well. Even when he's not speaking, he's always visibly moderating things rather than just turning stream on and letting money roll in for a few hours.

Yeah, he needs to be there or it would get stale, is what I'm saying, with the context being that AI would show its cracks rather quickly. That said, the lobotomizing and all that isn't the issue anyway...it's how the models underneath work.
Thus, even 10 vedals (who are much better paired with AI than AI alone) would quickly show those patterns, even if they're all working on it independently and into different directions. Even with all of her (which in itself is a misnomer, it's an it, really) upgrades, she still shows the LLM quirks.
Again, I'm not saying it's not fun or anything, but there is something, or I wouldn't be commenting, either.
Perhaps using an art AI makes a better comparison... you can have 10000 prompt engineers and 1000000 different datasets.
If the tech used is similar, then they'll all have the similar quirks.
In art AI it's usually fingers and all that.
This also exists for language ones. Its one of those things that creeps up onto ones perception even when not actively paying attention to it, you just 'get the vibe' after some time.
And Vedal and his Neuros being pretty unique helps mitigate that. That way it does look a bit like his AIs have a certain personality, just like people do, but put 10 of them online, and have them pop off, and you'd watch all of them, then you'd see it, little by little.

It's even funnier how their efforts to make AI progressive is what makes them go nuts. From what I recall, the unfiltered AIs didn't go crazy. They just weren't progressive, which led to the progressives lobotomizing them.
Funnily enough when they read statistics they tend to reach a consensus.
