You could have the tiles affect how future battles are played more than just the terrain setup. For example, if Jazza's Orks conquered a farm he could get more models in the next battle because they're well nourished. It could give a little more immersion to the narrative. Great work as always. Y'all are great.
I love this idea. I could also see this as an opportunity for Dave to field something like Freeguilds as well, like a miltia type thing for saving a township.
@@aidencrawford9704 I mean, they do understand the idea of slaves. And if they Kunnin enuff they might realize that a farm makes food, meaning they can sell the food for Teef and buy more choppy things and buy more boyz.

This is fantastic! Really nice job putting this together. Being an 80's kid, I really am living a dream come true seeing what tabletop games have become since the dawn of the internet and social networking, and the availability of production equipment at an affordable cost to hobbyists. That's really cool! The first thing I thought when I saw that was that it looks like Catan! I really like the tile with the mill and the farm. Maybe it has a little inn or tavern there in the house that was there, called The Prancing Pony (LotR reference). Anyway this is a really cool map!
This looks amazing! And you've inspired me to craft a little Barovia for my players! I think the swamp river tile in the south east should be 'Rotten Run'. The townsfolk avoid it due to it being a hunting/dumping ground for the orruks, and the source of some of the foul ichors the swamp calla uses! Can't wait to see the campaign flourish!
This very strongly reminded me of the settlers of catan tiles, probably because ofo the shape, but also the farms, grasslands and mountains. And yes, 80% of the time I have no idea what you are talking about, but it sounds cool and interesting! Eventually, I will probably understand more of it, the more I follow this channel ;-)
This has to be one of my favourite ideas you’ve explored on TTT. This is great! Perhaps adding small magnets to the edges on the tiles to make the snap together as the interlocking parts looked a tad fiddly. Love the concept keep at it!
Love this! What about The little town of 'Cobblecross' for the structural tile on the right hand side of the map? Could be a quiet religous town where the priest has been corrupted. Now theres a gowing group of cultist fanatics that are based around the church as hostile npc's / a hazard.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH YOU PUT THE TILES IN THE DESCRIPTION!!!! No one ever seems to put the one thing I'm looking for there, this is such a big help for the board game I'm making where I was looking for tiles like these!
I grew up on my family farm and having the name in there would be amazing. It’s called Amery Court Farm. Hehe that would be so cool. Also we have a wood near by called Clowes Wood (just thought it also sounded like clouds wood which might be fitting). Anyways love this build and the resurgence of the channel. You’re doing an amazing job Dave
I really like the mountain that has the town and army camp at its base. You could name it dracon spire, Karazai's claw, or dracothion's gaze; As if the people of the town felt protected living in the mountains immense shadow. I'm loving being inspired by all of TTT's creative projects!
I really hope this turns into a long campaign and we get to follow a rouge group travelling through the realm while these one shot battle reports are taking place. Would be an amazing blend of role play, 40k etc.
Your map looks amazing Dave! I can just imagine it being revealed hex by hex as the campaign explores the landscape. The Ork's swamp should be called Goopsland to pay homage to the dampest area of Victoria. 😉
For names I’ve got a few ideas, maybe the burnt village could be something like Bohn’s Folly (bohn is pronounced like bone) and one of the castles, (the bigger one) could be something like the pride of _______ and then insert whatever you name the entire land, or maybe insert a name of a town. Just some ideas but I thought that the names could also fit well into some cool backstory for the land.
Looks very cool. You can make any terrain from plains to mountains to village to city. Not just fantasy or historic, but also sci-fi and techno. Realistic tones to vibrant alien landscapes. The possibilities are endless.
So this is awesome. It’s given me an idea to finally make the game board of a table top game I was making for my boys based on How to Train Your Dragon. I got this bucket of ‘minis’ ages ago and have been meaning to paint them up and design some sort of board to go with them and I think I could make something like this for the map of the world for them to play on. Looks so good well done!
Love the little castle/fortress. Such an important yet purely functional place in a fantasy world like this one. The whole board already looks fantastic, triggering so much imagination. For some reason I came up with the name Karnvagh Castle. Thinking it sounded a little Scottish I researched it and actually found a place in Ireland with almost the same spelling. With carn meaning rocky hill/horn/peak in Gaelic and Gaul, and -augh meaning connected with/belonging to. So basically: the castle belonging on the rocky hill or perhaps Castle on the Peak or Horn Castle. But I do like my initial spelling. Very fantasy-esque I think. 😊 Do what you will with it. For Karnvagh! And Sigmar!!
Really likin' that house by the Southern river. Situated nice and cozy, but the colors and its position it makes it feel ominous. perfectly placed for a good witchin'. Hexestatt could be a nice name for it.
This is very similar to the Warhammer Fantasy and 40K campaign maps they used to have. They had little terrain and markers that fit in with pegs to the map tiles.
Ohhhh these are amazing!! Personal favorite tile is probably the fisher's house on the murky river that's surrounded by trees n the riverbanks. "Angler's Fen" sounds about right for it. I can't wait to see more worldbuilding!!
The little house near the waterfall in the brownish river could be called Kafiqv river and the cabin looks like a tavern so it could be called the Resting Waters or the Falling Swamp , also good work .These models are the kind of things that made me want to learn how to sculpt miniatures.
This is awesome! I have to admit, I know nothing about table top games or battle reports or the like.. but this video got me really excited. The details are so interesting and I'm curious to see how this project will continue ☺️
Love the concept of world map tiles. Would be really cool if as you battle across the landscape you update the tiles with things that happened within you sessions.
This tiling would be good for games of Dnd as well, helping form a 3D swordcoast and Chult for players or those Homebrew campaigns if ya design the tiles ya self
I'm pretty late on this, but I'm SO happy to see Hexton hills being used for a map. I loved their stuff, and want to do something similar. I don't really have a prefered tile, but rather a few. I loved the rapids, and.. as weird as this sounds? I -love- the cotton cloud/fog covering for the unseen areas. Its -such- a great effect I may have to steal whenever I print out my own. Super excited to see yall doin more of these though. Great work!
Tye map looks awesome, honestly. Gret work :) i like that it has the option to be expaneded. And maybe somewhat re arranged or updated if things change or more towns burn down or cities grow.
Since there are two rivers; one for the ork and one for the humans, you could give the ork the backstory that the reason behind their attacks is for fresh water - their water supply has been tainted and they need to be imperialistic for a source of potable water.
This turned out beautiful, you really brought this mini world to life. I really like the speedy blue river parts and how they are painted and maybe one of them could be called Stardust Rapids since that foam of the rapids in the water gave me cosmic vibes and your army has pretty stars and cosmos on them.
My favorite tile is the motte and bailey fort with the grain field. The one on the upper right corner of the map, by the loop in the river. (TS 13:30) I suggest Golden Keep for the golden fields of grain below. Or Harvest keep to fit the farming community theme of the tile.
Thankyou for this video! I am now super stoked about this idea again. Friends showed me these tiles, as the campaign manager for our warmaster campaign is also the terrain guy and he is using them for battle map city pieces.
I knew immediately that I would want to use them to build my ttrpg world maps, but I have to wait until we move into a house that can support a 3d printing hobby.
I think you should name the clean river the Bruinen, which is the river that Glorfindel carried Frodo over, and where Gandalf and Elrond brought down the flood to destroy the Nazgul. It's fitting because the Bruinen only has one crossing, as does yours, since it has one bridge and is rushing white water besides. This is so sick! I love terrain, 3d printing and D&D, this looks like a super cool way to combine the 3 without having to build dozens/hundreds of tiles for each tactical battle, which is hard for somebody with limited storage/time like myself.
This is amazing! I love the differences between similar tiles to show differences in the region or history of the areas: the 2 villages and the rivers in particular. I can’t wait to see where the campaign goes! Picking a favourite is tough... Gotta pick 2 I guess. I really like the tile with the waterwheel on the North River; your water effects look really great from the aerial view. The other is the tile to it’s upper right, with the wheat field and buildings (the one at the edge, beside the clouds); the amount of detail you have on such a small tile is amazing. But all of them are great, and I am excited to see if/when a battle table is made for each of them!
This map looks awesome !! And the idea of making this a world map and making bigger versions of each tile is an incredible idea and a seemingly large task haha ! But I know you guys will make it look dope! My favorite tile has to be the stone henge looking tile. Looking like ruins of a long forgotten ancient civilization . I don't know much about 40k so I couldn't possibly pick a name but I'm excited to see you guys make a big battle map version of that tile in the future
It would be great to create something like a Total War type of game with you and Jazza having to move your armies on the minimap, attack strategic location and stuff like that. It would add a whole new game experience that I haven't seen on TH-cam yet
13:16 Middle row, second across. Call that the Castle crossing. Middle row, third across. Call that the forest crossing. Middle row, fourth across could be Farmers Road.
My favourite tile is the Stonehenge one! Looks really awesome! I think you sould name the tile "the stones of Erm" or "the ruins of Erm". A few years ago me and some friends ran a small role playing campaign. In the campaign, my character founded the castle of Erm which was the seat of a group of knights. The knights were holy warriors fighting demons and evil creatures.
Add a pin hole to each tile and it become an amazingly dynamic tool for exploration and travel phases of RPGs, troop management in campaign style wargames et cetera. So thanks for the additional use for the sure to be overworked printer on it's way to me.
These look great! My favorite is the summery shale hills, the second tile on the the 1st row, It looks just rugged enough to be a challenge to navigate. You could call it Pineguards Fell, after a river I lived near as a child with some fantasy name embellishment! Keep up the great work!
This looks amazing! What do you think of adding small blood stains to tiles where you have fought? Would be interesting to see the amount of blood shed over time!
Holy crap.... this brings back memories of the old Mighty Empire's game, which is still sat in my attic.... unpainted. I totally forgot I'd still got it. 🤔 Oh no, ideas are flowing through my head, not another project that'll end in my corner of shame 🤣 😢😢
I have been printing these for a while now. Going for the magnetised option with one magnet each on the underside and a white board to stick them to. They look awesome, but it takes a long time to print all the tiles, especially since I'm working with an Elegoo Mars Pro, its a bit slower than the newer printers, and I can only fit two tiles at a time on. It also eats a lot of materials. So this project is turning out to be a lot bigger and more expensive than I first anticipated, but the end result will be worth it I think.
I think the castle tile should be called Vandelnook or Ivalo Stronghold :D I recently ran a campaign where both of those were locations, and it would be epic to see them in this world. Oh yeah and if you did use it you could make an inn inside Vandelnook and call it the Vandal's Nook This is genuinely like my favorite channel right now, I get super excited whenever you upload lol
You should print and paint some flags to indicate who won what battle and therefore controls what zone. You could take it further by allowing more units or command points based on how many tiles adjacent a faction controls. Something fun.
I love the mountain tiles the mountain can be called hellspire with the valley of sorrow leading to devils peak and underneath the brimestone caverns (cause its a mountain and you know mountains have mutiple places like a town would have mutiple shop names)
My favourite tile is the simple river tiles. They're just such nice pieces to look at. Though, I'm not good with naming things. I look forward to seeing the future of all of these ideas and concepts. I really hope GW doesn't take this away from us as well.
Where I grew up there was a creek called *Clear* Creek. It was the muddiest little stream I've ever seen and I like to think it was named this way on purpose. As such, my suggestion for the name of the brackish river is The Pellucid, which means transparent 😎
Unbelievable beautiful! I am so glad you explained a bit of your technique and showed how you painted these! I definitely gonna try my best and use your videos to try to come close to what you did here. Super impressed! Which tile bundle did you get for this? I saw they have so many different bundles. Greetings
That looks so brilliant, also something really cool would be to have some places referencing other big names in the mini painting world on TH-cam, for example the squid marshes
@@chadmensa this made me giggle and funnily enough my dad is a carpenter, but no I gained this name through cruel parents not thinking lol, I was named after my pop, Les but they didn't want me to be teased and called Lesley or a girl like he was, so they though oh let's just make it a z that will fix it.
@@Atherax I don't understand that, but you're welcome to enlighten me. I can take it as well as dish it out. I meant that light-heartedly, and didn't intend to be mean at all. I really thought it was a descriptive name... lol.
@@Atherax If you're referring to the nerdy stereotype of Mensa I'll have to concede. I mean, look at what we're watching. I'm just not used to people knowing what it is. Initially, I thought the name would make stupid people think twice about disputing me in the comments, but of course I was wrong. (That's not a double entendre, by the way.)
Honestly my favourite is the triangular crossroads in the middle. Something like… forgotten crossroads. Where a battle was fought so long ago the details have been forgotten and only the battle scars remain on the land such as small burial mounds or rusted useless broken weapon pieces still scattered half buried.
My favourite tile was the mountain to the south-west next to the camp. I think it should be called mount drakon, with a dragon living in it's icy peaks. Also, Great video!!
The top creek can be called Jewels Brook after the first commentor on this video. The upper farm can be called Brook Farm, because it's by the brook and that's also Jazza's last name. And the two tiles to the north of Brook Farm can be the Shadlands. Maybe the large mountain is actually a volcano and that's where the glass demons spawn, bringing the celestial battle report into the same world. I love world building!
Seeing the cotton wool used as clouds/fog made me think it would be quite cool to use that effect to hide tiles that players in a quest haven't been to yet, kind of like how you only see tiles you've been to before in some old school games
If you want to use the tabs and not break anything mix 20% of flexible resin to normal hard resin. They wont break when you drop them and they will flex juuuust enough to lock everything together easily. Very cool video btw :)
I liked the villages because they made me a little nostalgic about the Shire. But I would like to see some of them get more fortified like Whiterun or Solitute in SKyrim. And as a name I'd suggest Magnus, for a hero of legend that came from there. Getting whose armor and weapons could be nice little one shot idea...hmm and maybe use them to stop a cult or faction from corrupting him and bringing him back... I've gotta do a mini campaign now.
If you want to devote the time you could populate the region with its major NPC's, especially whomever occupies that castle and the people around him. It could be a minor nobleman, an appointed regional governor, or even a military legate. In each case he(or she) would have different people around him that would influence the surrounding community in different ways. You could even go further and add the people who provide important services, such as an innkeeper, blacksmith, etc., and before you knew it you might have the outline of the local economy. Trade routes might come next(blacksmiths need iron, and nobles need lots of good food - perhaps a hunting reserve in one of those wooded areas). I think you get the idea... you don't need to fill every house with a named NPC, but once you have the backbone of a society they virtually fall out of your imagination. Good luck! I love this project and will be anxiously waiting to see where you go with it!
Personally My favourite is the tall mountain tile, I think a name like Wyvern peak could be a cool way to possibly introduce a dragon onto the stormcast side later on, or alternatively you could call it Vultures pass as a way to add in ork support through one of those awesome bird monsters they have. Im not the best with names though as you can tell. It would be cool to add Myths surrounding these places too maybe, so If you chose wyvern pass then perhaps someone from the burnt village tried to kill the dragon but it only angered it and retuned to lay waste to his village. I dunno could be a reason to explain why its so sooty and run down. Whoevers names you pick this was an awesome video and Im super temped by these tiles now. Hope to see this world expand at some point!
I'm not that into table top gaming, but I absolutely love the idea of painting up a sprawling map of these tiles to be displayed on a wall or something.
always lower your plate till its almost touching the fep then fill it to the brin when your gonna leave it over night. you can also make yourself an auto fill system with a little bottle and hose
Gorgeous! If you wanted to name one of the mountains on the far left Mount Straubhaar, or just the Stockhorn (a real Swiss mountain my ancestors lived under) that'd be fun! ;)
It would be really cool to have the world map be a living world map, where you swap out tiles to represent the results of various battles. The Kruleboyz take a town and loot it? Well that tile with the town gets swapped out for one that's been painted to look war ravaged or burnt out. etc etc. Then you could have a brief shot of the world map in the intro of every battle report where the viewers can get an immediate sense of how the campaign as a whole is going just by how the world map is looking.
You could have the tiles affect how future battles are played more than just the terrain setup. For example, if Jazza's Orks conquered a farm he could get more models in the next battle because they're well nourished. It could give a little more immersion to the narrative. Great work as always. Y'all are great.

Oathmark does something similar with their faction building mechanic.
Almost like mighty empires from decades past.

Middle row, second across. Call that the Castle crossing. Middle row, third across. Call that the forest crossing. Middle row, fourth across could be Farmers Road.
I love all things miniature painting and map making so this is 100% up my alley. I think I'm going to need to invest in these tiles maybe 🤔
This is so amazing. It’s like a dream project.
My favorite hex tile is the castle. I think it should be called Kulburg, (Named after Habsburg Castle)
I had this idea like 20 years ago when I was 12 or 13 years old. I am so glad people now have the tech to do this.
Just from that opening shot I knew these were all beautiful. Good job.
My favourite is the stone circle tile! Love it. Here are some thoughts on names...
Hallowsway Henge
Fairy's Rest
Covenstones
Heingrim's Circle
Add a pin hole to each tile and it become an amazingly dynamic tool for exploration and travel phases of RPGs, troop management in campaign style wargames et cetera.
So thanks for the additional use for the sure to be overworked printer on it's way to me.
These look great! My favorite is the summery shale hills, the second tile on the the 1st row, It looks just rugged enough to be a challenge to navigate. You could call it Pineguards Fell, after a river I lived near as a child with some fantasy name embellishment! Keep up the great work!
I love these tiles. I have done a similar thing (though mine aren't painted yet). Absolutely great job!
This is stunning! Wow
This looks amazing!
What do you think of adding small blood stains to tiles where you have fought? Would be interesting to see the amount of blood shed over time!
Oooh good idea! I like that!!
blood splatter for the Orcs and little banner flags for the other guys
Holy crap.... this brings back memories of the old Mighty Empire's game, which is still sat in my attic.... unpainted. I totally forgot I'd still got it.
🤔
Oh no, ideas are flowing through my head, not another project that'll end in my corner of shame 🤣 😢😢
I'm now stuck in the nostalgia of the summer of '94, when my gaming group used the better part of 3 sets to run a campaign. Being young was awesome.
@@f0rth3l0v30fchr15t 3 sets, that would've been awesome.
And yes being young was great....
😢 I'm 45 now 😢
🤣🤣🤣🤣😢
I have been printing these for a while now. Going for the magnetised option with one magnet each on the underside and a white board to stick them to.
They look awesome, but it takes a long time to print all the tiles, especially since I'm working with an Elegoo Mars Pro, its a bit slower than the newer printers, and I can only fit two tiles at a time on. It also eats a lot of materials. So this project is turning out to be a lot bigger and more expensive than I first anticipated, but the end result will be worth it I think.
I think the castle tile should be called Vandelnook or Ivalo Stronghold :D
I recently ran a campaign where both of those were locations, and it would be epic to see them in this world. Oh yeah and if you did use it you could make an inn inside Vandelnook and call it the Vandal's Nook
This is genuinely like my favorite channel right now, I get super excited whenever you upload lol
Nostalgia is kicking in with Mighty Empires flashbacks but these tiles look even better! Great job!
That map is just drop-dead gorgeous. Kudos!
You should print and paint some flags to indicate who won what battle and therefore controls what zone. You could take it further by allowing more units or command points based on how many tiles adjacent a faction controls. Something fun.
Man that's cool. Hope to see a battle at that stone henge like structure, that would be epic!
A muddy and battle torn landscape from above would be cool to see in this style.
Beautiful map buddy! So exciting to see how you can develop lots of mini adventures based on what you have already.
Hey nice great job! Looks like very nice homemade Mighty Empire’s tiles.
I love the mountain tiles the mountain can be called hellspire with the valley of sorrow leading to devils peak and underneath the brimestone caverns (cause its a mountain and you know mountains have mutiple places like a town would have mutiple shop names)
You could call the Stonehenge place ‘The Ruins Of Wisdom’ that would be cool
That's a nice play on words, but something else is perplexing me: How did you become a carpenter if you don't like working with wood?
@@chadmensa this made me giggle and funnily enough my dad is a carpenter, but no I gained this name through cruel parents not thinking lol, I was named after my pop, Les but they didn't want me to be teased and called Lesley or a girl like he was, so they though oh let's just make it a z that will fix it.
@@chadmensa I also love that my first thought is your name really makes it sound like you would give koolaid out at Colledge parties
That came out amazing. Your patience and imagination is mind blowing. I am very excited to see the journey. 👏
Honestly my favourite is the triangular crossroads in the middle. Something like… forgotten crossroads. Where a battle was fought so long ago the details have been forgotten and only the battle scars remain on the land such as small burial mounds or rusted useless broken weapon pieces still scattered half buried.
Such a gorgeous, immersive and wonderful map...a masterpiece! 👍👍👍
I didn't know these existed and will be getting some in the future! For both an rpg and wafgaming campaign
I love this idea and how it turned out. great job
Great work. Love how it turned out. Found the audio to be a bit echoy but I imagine the new studio is still coming togeather :)
Seeing the cotton wool used as clouds/fog made me think it would be quite cool to use that effect to hide tiles that players in a quest haven't been to yet, kind of like how you only see tiles you've been to before in some old school games
This is insanely cool. No other words, just wow.
If you want to use the tabs and not break anything mix 20% of flexible resin to normal hard resin. They wont break when you drop them and they will flex juuuust enough to lock everything together easily.
Very cool video btw :)
That portal looks sweet! Whole map looks nice!
Looks amazing. Would love that for my campaigns.
Impressive priming technique. I have to include this in my painting routine!
Awesome work. These tiles have so much potential!
a cool name for the castle might be dewmire citadel
Top row, second in from right, the forest/grassy plain tile should be called
'Edge of the Wystman Woods'
Gorgeous! If you wanted to name one of the mountains on the far left Mount Straubhaar, or just the Stockhorn (a real Swiss mountain my ancestors lived under) that'd be fun! ;)
Don't play this at all but that map looks absolutely gorgeous! I love the amount of details, lovely colour palette and scale.
Dave I love your voice almost as much as I love your ideas
These are so cool, I'm definitely going to get some of these now!
Quality art here, luv you guys keep up the great work
congrats for actual first comment
