    I have the same idea with 4" pvc piping for our shower water. I love how you pressurise it with a simple pump. Great Idea.

    I like your bus, man! Nice job! I just picked up the same bus only a 1995 model originally built by Collins Bus Corp, just like yours. I did a whole lot of research trying to find just the right vessel, which is why I recognized yours as a Collins. I'm planning a rear deck similar to yours. I'm just beginning the conversion process and look forward to getting on the road next spring. One of the things I plan on doing is installing a winch system so that I can pull myself through some tough spots instead of beating the bus up.

    I took my short bus up a hill that I shouldn't have, on a road that I shouldn't have, and ended up at a washout in the road with no way to turn around. All I can say is having the ability to turn on a dime makes all the difference in these situations. I like my short bus too. ;)

    PBR after taste yukkkkk. Lol
    That's a nice little home on the go.
    That's a good size for a toy hauler, you can still get around. We've got some nice parks, both National and State Forests and some times of the year you couldn't take a reg 74 kid bus with a block long wheelbase on roads/trails to get to the best spot to play with the toys. Ocala Nat Forrest has some nice areas for just about anything you want to do. It has areas good for bikes but not far from there in Belleview is a world class off-road track that's FREE and camping at the campersite ( with showers) in Ocala Forrest is also free but you have to move your camp every couple weeks but not to worry, after a few days/week you'll be ready to leave, it's hotter in other places but other then other Fl spots, Ocala Forrest is muggy hot humidity

    Given its not a dually, and your dependent upon your tires so much ...look up "G" series 16" tires , full steel cased like a tractor trailer tire..no squirm, and very safe. You could also do a 19.5" tire/rim conversion. Rickson Rims can help you that, ask for Heather, she super smart on this stuff. .

      Thanks! I believe it was roughly 15 feet from the driver seat to the back of the exit and I only ran the stock AC that came on the bus when I bought it. The motor had to be running in order to use it.

    Do you have some sort of portable crapper? I'd say you would need it with that PBR.

  • @garthlocklin6355
    @garthlocklin6355 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Great rig and set up! My only suggestion for improvement would an upgrade to A/T tires on all 4 corners with the lugs on the sidewalls to improve traction in ditches and washouts. I always prefer single rear wheels over dually because of better traction in rain and slick conditions because of more pounds per square inch on the rear tires. Just make sure they're heavy duty. Get a 3/8 or 1/2 inch DeWalt 20v portable battery impact gun just in case you gotta change a tire in a remote location. You mentioned your may sell it in 6 months or so? What rig would you go with next? Yours looks like it has the metal body; I have driven a few airport shuttle buses that were bigger but fiberglass. After 140K or so miles of use by various drivers the bodies start cracking with minor accidents or hitting curbs on the back wheels. I notice some schoolie owners attach 2x12 PT boards bolted thru the exterior walls to keep the body stiffer and have less flex issues.

    • @AndrewTaylor
      @AndrewTaylor  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Dr. Madness I got a great deal on mine paying only a couple thousand dollars. I'd say most short buses range from 2k to 5k. Just take your time and look for a good deal. As for the bathroom, I'd some people have a portable one and some people hit up local bathrooms.

    I noticed that you replaced the bus with an RV... was this because the bus ended up not being so great for a particular reason? Also, did you loose much money when you sold it?

    • @AndrewTaylor
      @AndrewTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Derrick Willingham yeah it’s because I went full time on the road for two years so I needed something with a bathroom and shower. It has to be great to live in countrys where you can make a vehicle longer with the same lenght as the original one... no back lights, no visible licence plate... that the more you hang behind the back axel, the less the frontwheel presure on the raod is, nobody cares. Maybe the insurance people who don't know you ennymore in case of an accident .
