I love it when an unlikely looking bunch walks out on stage and just kicks your teeth in with pure talent! Wow!
These “Workshops” are often where the magic occurs at VI Musicfest. Each of these artists have a mainstage performance of their own but they are also encouraged to do a couple of these workshops over the weekend. Tal and Ashley were headliners in 2016 so to get them on the same stage was pretty cool.

Stumbled across this just surfing around...I am familiar with Tal and Jeff Beck but WOW what a great sound coming out of this band!...Female guitar player was awesome and same for amazing fiddle player!

I wish they would let Tal turn up some more as she is super talented. She is the only woman who plays bass and sings without her own band with her original songs. She is bright star going places fast.
She's been places already and played with some of the best in the industry...read up on her, watch some video, she's not just good, she's great.
She also played with some "no-name" guy called Jeff Beck. Anyone ever heard of that fellow? ;-) Ya..she's pretty well known already.

Tal was late for this collaboration. What you see in this song is her arriving from the airport and getting warmed up. I have a dozen other songs from this set and her main stage set that night but they were flagged and removed after a complaint from her management or record co. Too bad. Her performance of The Smiths How Soon is Now is terrific. Will go up on DTube and Bitchute when I get my shit together. Too good not to share. Tal needs to get with the times. I’m happy to split revenue ($2 a month?) with her. Her performance, my capture.

This was the first song of the set, which was a collaboration of many musicians, each with an opportunity to pick a couple of songs to play and to join in on other’s songs. Look closer. He’s playing. Tal’s drummer plays less but both are playing.

This was a cool little jam in the afternoon before her main stage performance that night. I have the whole thing recorded but her record label claimed copyright so I got dinged. She did a terrific version of How Soon is Now by the Smiths and a fun little Can’t Explain jam but alas ... I’m afraid to re-up because they’re all over it like Nazis. Too bad. She had fun and it showed. No ego. Just a love of good music ❤️

Yeah That is a specialized 12-string called a "bajo sexto", used in Mexican and Tex-mex music.
Wow! That explains how this music (including tasty soloing) could be played on what I mistook for a standard old 12.

My biggest complaint with Tal is that she never plays loud enough.
My biggest complaint about Tal is her management claims copyright whenever I upload more of her from this festival. I’ve got her whole performance, both on this stage and the main stage that night. It was outstanding. And she was louder once the board was adjusted.

I was there. She arrived late to discover that her guitars had been sent to Paris. What you don't see in the video is her having a heart to heart with her guitar player as she gathers herself together, another challenge met as she recovered beautifully in her solo.

tal doesn't even start playing 3 minutes into that hillbilly tune, she is in a different class of musicians from those guys and i wander how she even ended up getting involved with this gig
All of the lesser musicians showed up on time because they respect the other musicians. Tal showed up late because she is exceptional.
kidding aside ..:) sounds like someone is playing the bass line somewhere back stage,im guessing its the bands regular bass player, i think she just did a short guest appearance solo.
She was headlining the festival, playing the mainstage that evening at 8:00, but this festival asks artists to play two or three different shows over the weekend if possible and they threw her in with this jam Saturday at 2:00pm. This was one of the earlier songs of the set and Tal was late. As such her sound was being worked on during the set. Her guitarist was on time and was brilliant, and they led several terrific jams over the 45 minutes, including a cover of the Smiths' How Soon is Now, a cover of Paul Simon's Faking It and a bit of the Who's I Can't Explain. I put them up on my channel and received a great response but I was hit with two copyright strikes by Tal's management (for songs written by other people) so I've lost a lo9t of respect for her, TBH. I have over 300 videos of various bands playing live and the worst thing that has happened to this point is Mother Mother asked me to remove one of the songs I had up because they weren't happy with their performance. Most artists appreciate the coverage and understand that the $3 a month their video is generating me is worth the exposure. But whatevs ...
