  • It's very rare that I break down a rookie's game under the microscope like this, but almost every hooper can gain some valuable knowledge from Herro's game, so it was only right. Definitely one of my favorite young players to watch, so we will all be keeping an eye on him for years to come!

    Regarding the "don'tk ask me why but defenders don't know how to defend this" Jimmy explained why, and told this to Tyler too, he said that often teams don't react well to his plays because this is his first year in the league, so players have played too little against him and teams going in a game study on video how to contain the superstars of that team (like bam and Jimmy) they don't study much the rookies of the team, but Butler said to Tyler next Year with him playng more minutes and being recognised as a threat, players will be on him and will know him better so it will be tougher! So he will have to keep improving a lot.

    Herro's vastly improved passing skills also go unnoticed. A pure shooter like him usually takes the shot, while Tyler is always looking for a higher percentage shot, even if it's not him taking it. This new talent, I think is thanks to Jimmy Butler's influence.

Either way I loved the video, lv from Portugal! (in europe)

      Also he didn't mention that Grant couldn't tag the roller cuz he was on Duncan Robinson. Grant had plenty of time to tag Adebayo but he didn't wanna leave Robinson open. Its wasn't the speed of the handoff.

  • @aubinaps1427
    @aubinaps1427 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you like quick release, Duncan Robinson is one step ahead.
    When you look at Tyler Herro, you can see that part of his shooting motion is to get the ball down into his pump move, while Duncan directly integrates the ball in his shooting motion. That made him even a deadlier shoter. It makes his shot to be faster, less predictable, and still in a single fluid motion.
    Have a look it's so worth it :)

    I think the reason the bigs were low is because it was their defensive strategy. The Bucks for example played in a drop coverage all season long, they would rather have the offense doing anything but get layups. Clearly this strategy doesnt work well against great jump shooting teams (like the Heat) and it was pretty dumb of Budenholzer to not adapt, he just kept forcing the error
