Hi Nma,stumbled upon your video and I must say, you’re good at what you do. You’re quite hilarious too 4:01 ,4:17 😂 I had fun watching this and the outcome is lovely! ❤
This video has really been helpful. I'll be going for a friend's wedding soon and I'm part of the asoebi. I don’t want to go there and start looking for who will tie gele for me. So, I've been browsing the Internet and I got to know there's something called zara cap and I liked it. Usually I'm not a gele person so, I searched and saw some videos but they weren't well detailed like yours. Just this night I've been able to do the cap and by tomorrow evening, I'll work on the bow. The funny thing is that, I did everything using needle. I don't have a sewing machine neither do I know how to sew even if I have one, and instead of the Mako, I used a thick paper. I'm so happy right now. I wish I can snap and send it here. Thanks and God bless you for this amazing video.
I’ve learnt so much from you.. you teach with love and compassion and with ease.. Please i want to ask, before i start making this Zara cap should i measure the persons head all round or just go with the measurement here..
Thank you ameyo4113 for responding about the Eva foam. I can’t find the mako as yet, I’m in Jamaica but I will try again and search around or try finding the foam that I should be able to find in my parish capital, I try one however by folding a piece of cotton material multiple times it came out nice but I know the mako or foam would make it firmer. If I still can’t find the mako or eva foam I will have to fold the cotton material multiple times and and use pellon with it too. Pellon out here might be your version of peplon stay, it has the sticky surface to on side that you press on material to give it a little firmness.
@ No problem - someone (A Nigerian designer) who made the same hat said it was! I actually purchased mine yesterday, so I guess it’s similar to the Marko or Mako material. In Australia, there is nothing like Marko or mako- the name does not exist. 😀 People in the US have also said the same.
