Thank you so much for this wealth of information! I picked up my 2024 UX yesterday and your video is so much more user friendly than the books and videos provided by Lexus!
Hi Melissa, I live in the UK and I bought a new UX in 2020 when the covid-19 rules and restrictions were in place. This meant that my dealer was unable to spend any time with me in order to explain the various controls and set-up routines of the vehicle or to provide any printed user manuals. This left me with just the on-line Lexus user manuals, so you will appreciate that your 2020 Lexus UX Full Tutorial - Deep Dive proved to be an absolute godsend. I am picking up my new 2023/24 UX in a couple days and look forward to using your UX 2023/24 - Deep Dive video, especially in sorting out the complexities of the new Lexus Interface. They are brilliant videos, thank you so much.
I'm so glad my tutorials have been helpful for you! I started doing the deep dive tutorials because of the exact experience you had with your 2020 UX. Due to the covid-19 safety protocols we had in place, I couldn't sit with people in person, so I tried to come up with a way to do a virtual delivery of a new vehicle. I had no clue the videos would be so popular. I never intended to continue doing them once things opened back up. But they seem to be helping a lot of people, so I am doing my best to continue making them in my spare time between my normal job responsibilities. And hopefully, I continue to learn and improve my video quality with each one I make. It's just me, a few smart phones, a Bluetooth mic and my iMovie video editor in my MacBook Pro. I guess I'm an accidental content creator. LOL Who knew you could become a TH-camr in your 50s :) Thanks again for tuning in with me!

Hi Melissa, Thank you for providing such an in-depth and valuable video. Your explanations and instructions were very clear. I love my UX even more now that I know to use more of the features. I hope that you will get a big raise for a job well done.
I recently bought a UX250h and I've seen your previous video. This is a fantastic update and greatly appreciated! So much info in one place and it's much better than reading manuals. Sometimes I wish the car manufacturers would create videos like this for the car owners, but you do a fantastic job!
Good vid. We receive our UX this week. I see a few changes for the upcoming 2025! 😑 but we liked our price point and I’m pretty sure the newer model means a little more price
Hi! Sorry for the delay. I actually think it is more for a sporty "cool" look than any real need to monitor, but some people like to have it visible. From some training information: G-force sensors - the G-Monitor - which send live data to the multi-information display. "The G-Monitor screen shows a G-ball moving in line with the lateral and longitudinal forces on the vehicle, giving the peak force experienced in each direction." Not anything you actually need to watch or monitor, but kind of cool to see what the g-forces are are you move through a turn.
Hi Melissa. Is there a deep dive tutorial for RX450h model year 2018 ? Appreciate if you could provide one. By the way, I enjoy watching your other Lexus tech tips and tutorials, very helpful and useful. Thanks for doing all the videos. Keep it up 😀👍
No, sorry. I started doing the deep dives during covid, so 2020 is as far back as they go. The 2020 RX was the very first deep dive tutorial I made. See if this will help: th-cam.com/video/mngbZXRbgo4/w-d-xo.html. Thanks for being here!
I have a 2025 AWD UX300h Luxury package coming next month(🇨🇦). Mostly the controls are the same so I subjected myself to the full 2 1/2 hours. I also watched all your recent NX350 videos because I own one of those too. I may trade that in for the NX450h+ though….. as you can see Lexus owns my soul!!! 😈🤣😎 Thanks for the best tutorials ever!!! 🙏 Edit: Question… The trunk door doesn’t have an interior light but I do see a blank where one would be. Is there a connection for one if you open the blank? 🤔
You just made my day! LOL! 😃 I hope to get to do an updated UX video at some point. Lexus has released so many updates and new vehicles lately, I'm doing all I can to get the videos done when I have breaks in my normal job responsibilities. Maybe one day, I will get to make videos full time. That would be a lot of fun! Thanks very much for being here and for all of your support! Congrats on your soon to arrive UX. I have the 24 NX350 now and am loving all the changes.
Hi! I am working on the TX, but it is taking me forever to find time to film and edit between my normal job responsibilities. I'm sorry it is going slowly, but I a promise I am working on it! Thanks for hanging in there with me :)
Hi. I really want a walnut wood trim around my gear shift and side doors and I've found the inserts online. Do you know if it's an easy switch-out? I'm also considering changing my black.interior seats to a cashmere - white -bone color. I found an aftermarket shop to install the seats but not the wood trim. Thank you for this video it's so helpful!
Hi! I'm sorry, I'm not trained on how to remove the trim. I've seen the Technicians take the dash apart and there are a lot of small clips that hold things in place so they don't move or rattle around while you drive. I would do a lot of research before you have the work done. Make sure you like the work from the shop and that you won't void your warranty. Thanks for checking in.
Melissa, thank you so much for this tutorial. I have the 2020 UX hybrid and it has the square mouse pad. (which I do not care for) Is there a tutorial for that? I find that this car has so much tecnhology that I take my eyes off of the road. I will say, it drives amazing and has very good gas mileage. It is the tech that gets me upset! Thank you for your clear help.
Congratulations on your UX! Here's the Deep Dive for the 2020 model: th-cam.com/video/2Gy_sD6Yy_4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f0-NoLhwM8UIwLRt See if this section about the Remote Touch Pad helps: 37:30 Remote Touch Pad Thanks for tuning in with me!
Sorry, I just saw this note. On the 2025, the LTA switch is in the same place, but the button looks like a car that is centered in the lane. That turns off the Lane Trace Assist Feature. the Lane Departure Alert feature is separate now and is controlled through Settings on the main screen. Select the Gear icon in the Lexus menu on the Center Display. Select “Vehicle customize” or “Driving assist”. and you'll see all of the customizable features. You can turn off LDA there. (So LTA on/off with the button on the steering wheel and LDA though the settings menu :)
@@NorthsideLexus: Hi Melissa: No worries! Thanks again for getting back to me. Sadly, I had to return the car, but I was sure there was some way to do that! I thought I had gone through all those menus, but just couldn't figure it out, and the owners manual wasn't much help! At least I haven't filed the story yet so I won't let that "misteak" get into it! Cheers, Jim
@@jimkenzie1771 So sorry I couldn't get you the answer before you had to give it back. I hope you enjoyed it though. I would love to read your story when it come out. If you think of it, please send the link 👍 Thanks again for supporting my videos🙏
@@NorthsideLexus Hi Melissa: Will do! Essentially, my take was that the model I drove, the "F Sport 2", was a bit weird. With run-flat all-season tires and a 0 - 100 km/h time of over 8 seconds, why does it have that "track pack" feature? It's hardly a race car! Forget that almost 9 grand (Canadian $$) option, and you have a nice small station wagon, although they cannot call it that... And that shift quadrant is WAY too complicated. PRNDL lives! Cheers, Jim
The hand brake is automatically engaged when you press P for park unless you turn it off intentionally. But see the section titled “parking/emergency brake” at minute 1:09:24 in this video for more info.
@@susie2251 Thank you very much for your answer. I have a UX and have beeing doeing like that till now, but somebody told me that for parking I had to press N, turn the hand break on (press button) and then pass to P. He says it is not good engage it automatically. I had never heard that, that is why I asked you. Thank you again and thanks for your videos
Hi! If you leave the Parking Brake in the Auto mode, like @susie2251 mentioned, then when you put your UX in Park it will also automatically apply the Parking Brake. Allowing the car to turn the Parking Brake on and off with the shift to Park step has been used for many years and is not an issue for the vehicle at all. Thanks for checking in.
We average 40mpg after 1600 miles. Mostly city. I guess for the luxury, weight, quietness, slightly easier exit/entry seat height we can sacrifice those 10-13 mpg lost from our corolla and prius. I wish we had 360 cam and ventilated seats. Thankfully it came with front tint. That helps with the black seats ☀️
Hi Melissa: Me again, from the Great White North! I thought I had added another comment earlier this afternoon, but it’s not there, so I must have messed up somewhere! I am trying to disable ALL the so-called “Driver Assist” systems, and the one that is eluding me is the dreaded “Lane Departure Assist”. I asked “Hey Lexus” and “she” said, “Look in your Owners Manual”. I did, but that only shows ways to adjust the varying degrees of irritation, not shut it off altogether! When I look up “How to turn off lane assist in Lexus UX?” on the Internet, it shows a video by Wesley Chapel Lexus in Florida from 2021 for the IS 300 or IS 350 (the closest I could find). It says to push and hold the button on the steering column stalk with the symbol that looks like a car running off the road. But in the UX, there is no such button! Just the symbol of the car running off the road which indicates that the system is still active. Which, sadly, it is! Any hints? Cheers, Jim Kenzie
Hi Jim! Sorry for the delay. It has been a busy summer around here! Some Driver Assist features can be turned off, but they will automatically come back on when the car is turned off and back on. It's possible that is what you have going on. On the UX, if you press and release the button on the steering wheel for LTA (the car leaving the lane icon) it should turn the system off or on. I would also look at changing the setting I go over here as well: 42:10 Settings Customizations (MID) Maybe that will help you to get things customized to your preference. Thank you so much for being here!
Excellent video. I'm a journalist in Canada testing a UX F Sport. Is there any way to keep the SatNav map in the North Up orientation? It was good enough for Christoper Columbus; it's good enough for me! I set it to North Up, but if I go away from the SatNav to Radio or whatever then go back to SatNav, it switches back to direction of travel. There are complaints about this on the various Lexus customer web sites, but no solution. Do you have one? Or at least an explanation? Thanks in advance! Jim K
@@jimkenzie1771 Hi Jim! That’s awesome that you are getting to test drive the UX F Sport! I wish I had a solution for you for the North Up compass view. Unfortunately we are waiting for an OTA from Lexus that will include that update. Right now it is programmed to change when you select it, but not to save or hold the customization. Thanks so much for checking in and for your kind words about my tutorial. I really appreciated your support!
What does it mean when it says 20 mpg after reset? Also, why does the mileage per tank change so much after I fill it up? I am a new buyer with quite a few questions.
The MPG after reset is the average MPG for the vehicle, unless you reset it, it will continue to adjust the calculation for you. The per tank average updates automatically when you fill up. It should update the projected range for that tank of fuel. Thanks for tuning in to learn with me. I hope the tutorial will help you enjoy your new UX!
Hi! Some areas do receive UXs with a HUD, but we do not usually see that package in my area and I did not have access to a UX with that feature. Thanks very much for checking in.
Hi Melissa, thank you f9r the tutorial. I have a UX 300h and would like to add some addresses to my favorites but name them according to the place. So for example add my son's address but call it by his name, so when I do a voice command I can say "go to....... (the name)". How do I do that please? The only two options to call an address by it's name is home and work. Anyway I can do that with other addesses? Thank you
Hi! Unfortunately, Lexus has not added the ability to name or customize the Favorites that are saved in the Destinations feature in the new Lexus Interface system. I know it is pretty annoying for those of us used to the previous system. If you are using the maps from Apple CarPlay or Android Auto you can use your phone's voice assistant to voice command an address by contact name. Press and hold the Talk button on the steering wheel to wake up Siri or Google and say, "Go to ... (the name)'s house" and if you have their address listed in your phone's contact as home. It should repeat the command for clarification and route you there. I hope Lexus will add this capability back soon. Thanks so much for your great question!
Hi! So sorry for the delay! This one can be a little tricky, because there are two ways. First try this: Get Siri talking, try saying, "Hey Siri, how's the weather." (because there is a longer reply), then while Siri is talking, try turning the volume up on the phone again. Sometimes it need to be active to really make the change. The other step is in the Settings > Sound & Media > System Voice Hopefully one of those will get it for you.
Hi melissa, I need to silence the back seats chimes/sound alerting occupant put on seat belt. I would appreciate if help me to how silence them. thanks in advance
Hi! We don't have access to a setting in the vehicle to silence the seatbelt alarms. You can check with your Lexus service department and see if a Technician would have more access through the computer. Best of luck with it. Thanks so much for being here!
Hi, I have a question for you please. I have the 2022 UX F Sport with the card key. I'm now replacing the car with the 2025 F Sport, however was told that the 2025 does not have a key card. Can my key card be programmed to the 2025? Thank you
Hi! Unfortunately keys can not be reprogrammed for a new vehicle. Once a key is programmed it can only be used for that car. Thanks for checking in about it. I'm sorry I don't have a way to make that happen for you.
The Lexus app is found in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can open the store and search for Lexus. It will be the black solid square with the silver Lexus logo. Thanks for tuning in with me!
Thanks for the great Video. Anyone knows if there's a way to make "Brake Hold" default? Meaning that it will start when I turn on the car, without the need to press the button?
Thanks so much for tuning in to learn with me! 👍 Unfortunately, Brake Hold has to be turned back on each time you start the car. Maybe one day they will add that customization. Thanks again for being here!
Hi! Unfortunately, the new multimedia system doesn't have a split screen. A lot of people have given feedback about this to Lexus. It would be awesome if they add that in the future, but right now it isn't possible to chose that setup. Thanks for checking in :)

@@NorthsideLexus You are more than welcome. Still seems odd that Toyota which usually sweats the details have missed this, and for so long!
NICE CAR
It really is. So glad you like it!
Nice 😃
Nothing about the on-screen projection, or whatever it's called, when the speed is projected near the bottom of the driver's side windshield?
The SIRI voice is low. Can you please tell me how to raise the SIRI voice in the car? Its all the way up on my Iphone. TY
Could you please give me the link to the application?🙏
The Lexus app is found in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. You can open the store and search for Lexus. It will be the black solid square with the silver Lexus logo. Thanks for tuning in with me!
For heavens sake! Can you split the screen between navigation and radio?
I sure wish you could! We have given a lot of feedback to Lexus and this request is at the top of the list!
Thank you so much for your kind reply!@@NorthsideLexus
Is there a Way to split screen if im not using apple car play? thanks
Hi! Unfortunately, the new multimedia system doesn't have a split screen. A lot of people have given feedback about this to Lexus. It would be awesome if they add that in the future, but right now it isn't possible to chose that setup. Thanks for checking in :)
감사합니다
기꺼이 도와드리겠습니다 I hope that translation worked :) Happy to help!

Does this version not have HUD?

Absolutely brilliant
Thanks so much for your support! I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial!
